  • Finally pulled the plug .. It's been a long time coming, and a lot of work to get here. Something I've always wanted to do. Today is the day that we went down to Choo Choo Lawn Equipment the #1 Dealer here in Florida for Commercial Lawn Equipment and purchased the Greenworks Commercial OptimusZ line. John the manager at Choo Choo has been a great help in getting this whole order put together for us. There was a small issue with 2 of the mowers that I couldn't look past with my OCD so John ordered all new stuff from the factory, and they were perfect. Choo Choo is an awesome company to deal with. Join us on our fun adventure with starting up a brand new SideHustle, an all-electric lawncare company. This is our first video on purchasing our Greenworks commercial mowers. We're very excited. This is gonna be a fun ride.

    I subscribed to see what you do with these mowers. I would love to get that 60' but due to inflation insanity i cannot bring myself to making the purchase. My Exmark Radius X 60 with all the bells cost me $8400 before this inflation hit. Today the same mower is $12k to $13k...i will switch to Greenworks whenever inflation bubble explodes!

      Thank you very much for subscribing. Thanks for your support. The mower you have is an amazing mower. Unfortunately I cannot have gas. I have to battery due to my asthma. When it comes to mowers and tech, unfortunately, I don't think they are gonna come down in price. That's why I took advantage of the bundle package Greenworks offered. Best way to reduce your costs and save thousands. Again, thank you for the support.

      Tough side hustle for someone with asthma. I’m guessing you’ll wear a mask when working?

      If you're going to do it, you might as well do it right.. Buy it nice or buy it twice ..
      Thanks for your comment.

    Im on my second video here and im trying to piece tighter what you doing. Are you jumping straight into an all electric lawn care business with no experience because your wife saw some videos on CZcams? Im not trying to be a jerk but your going to need some guidance I can help you out if you need some consulting, im not trying to talk you into paying for anything either I mean if you need any information I probably have already been there done that. I was all electric from 2019-2023 using greenworks commercial, I am now back to gas mostly, it’s not easy I can explain why

      Thank you very much for your comment. And no, it wasn't as simple as my wife seeing a bunch of youtube videos, which made us go out and spend over 50k on equipment and not including a truck and trailer. I'm not one to do anything small. If I'm gonna do it, I will do it right. I appreciate your offer. I love a challenge. And I appreciate your support thank you very much.

    Hey my friend. I too own a lawn care business and I also once used battery powered equipment, and recently went back to gas again. Beware of the weaknesses of modern batteries right now. Which is, heat, water, and tall grass. I had alot of problems with greenworks and tall grass. When I went back to gas I learned the faster you go the more pressure you put on the belt. Their also was a youtube video I watched showing if the grass is super tall greenworks works batteries drain quicker. So my best advice is go shower with those. As you will put less tension on the battery. Best of luck. I subscribed to see how everything goes. 👍

      Thank you very much for your comments. I always appreciate it. I'm curious as to which greenworks you had? These new mowers are state of the art and cut tall grass just fine. I've done my research, and I wouldn't buy anything if they could just cut short grass. That would be a bad investment. Like any engine you use, the more strain you put on it, the more battery or gas you will use. Regarding my photography, I haven't done anything in these videos that would showcase it. I've only used my phone and a small camera. But thanks anyways I appreciate it. Have yourself a great day. If you want to see me doing my old job where I actually know what I'm doing and I'm an expert in just look up GregoryJamesPhoto. I haven't posted in years though. But there's quite a lot of bts videos on there.

      @SideHustleMowing I will definitely watch your old job videos. Thank you. I've watched a lot of other lawn care businesses youtube and none were as clear a picture or follow them like this camera did. As far as using greenworks mowers I used an 80v greenworks mower I still have the receipt spent over 1,000 dollars at the time greenworks didn't have commercial yet but what happened was thee batteries the same ones your using on the blower and weed waker were my problem. They over heated alot and only after a few uses had gone down to 10 mins run time. On the mower. I will send you the clip of the greenworks zero turn. Same one you have and why I decided to go back to gas.

    I’ve had the dream of doing this for years but scared because of how expensive batteries are. I’ve run electric hand tools and push mowers for 4 years now all EGO. The batteries just started giving me crap this year. Equipment is actually pretty good. It’s the zero turns that scare me. A lot of money for something you don’t know for sure will work.

    • @SideHustleMowing
      @SideHustleMowing  Před 2 dny

      Yes I was too. That is why I went with a company that has 2000 hours and 5 year warranties on everything. These are commercial use rated so they can withstand a full day of work. From all the studying I've done, they are one of the best ones to go with. Ego is a great brand as well and they just developed a commercial mower as well. When it comes to batteries, if you are using them everyday and charging them everyday, the battery life will only last 4-5 years on handhelds esp if they aren't rated for commercial use. Thanks for your comment.

    What is the length in inches from the front caster wheel to the rear of the 32in stand on mower? I am looking into purchasing one and with my trailerless setup I have limited space. Green works does not give dimensions on their website.

    Who built your trailer with the lifetime warranty? Thanks

    • @SideHustleMowing
      @SideHustleMowing  Před 2 dny

      To be honest I don't remember who built it. I bought it in Tennessee but I don't want to say on a public forum because they didn't do us any favors, they just wanted a quick sale. It is definitely a good trailer, no shake, no pull. You can't feel it behind your truck at all.

    I'm curuous: Why did you choose the Optimus 30 over the Optimus 22? 30 is close to your 36.

    • @SideHustleMowing
      @SideHustleMowing  Před 27 dny +3

      Hey Paul, Thanks for your comment. I'm using the 30 more as a backup. In case something goes down. It would cover more area, then the twenty-two, and to be honest , I just like the looks of it better as well, lol I also have a 22 Ryobi incase I need that size. But I really don't want to push something that needs to have a twenty two.. 😅

    a tesla model 3 costs 38k brand new yet a lawn mower costs this much. How does it make sense

    • @SideHustleMowing
      @SideHustleMowing  Před dnem

      @possession3929 Yeah, I totally get it, but in both instances when it comes to buying anything battery, you really are just paying for the battery and the tech. For instance,
      Tesla is not really put together that well, you're really paying just for the battaries, 85% of it, same with the lawn mowers. Thank you very much for your comment
