Vlog#5 | Picking up the new Optimus line of handhelds from Greenworks Commercial and Unboxing
zhlédnutí 249Před 7 hodinami
Went to Choo Choo Lawncare here in Florida, our go-to dealer, and picked up the brand-new line from Greenworks Commercial, their all new Optimus line of handhelds for commercial use. These handhelds and the blower are awesome. String Trimmer and the telescopic hedge trimmer are amazing. Unboxing was like Christmas time. Great design, feel great in the hands. Still waiting on half of our handhel...

POV on the OptimusZ 36" stand-on. Put some old "bonus footage" of our last house with a perfect manicured lawn using the Ryobi Whisper Series String Trimmer and the the Ryobi push-mower. Ryobi gets a bad wrap. For 2 years I used Ryobi to cut and landscape our yard. Had no major issues. For the size of the property I put a ton of hours, more than what most people would put on. But if you want to...
Vlog #3 Testing Out The Ryobi 54" 80V HP Electric Zero Turn Riding Mower

Last year we purchased our first electric lawn mower the Ryobi 54" 80V, cutting our property 2x a week on 4 acres. This tractor was awesome. What would normally cost me $120 a month on gas, with the electric lawn mower. It only cost me $27 for the whole season, which is March-December here in Florida. This is what opened my eyes to the entire battery-powered lawn equipment. This is why we went ...

    a tesla model 3 costs 38k brand new yet a lawn mower costs this much. How does it make sense

    • @SideHustleMowing
      @SideHustleMowing Před dnem

      @possession3929 Yeah, I totally get it, but in both instances when it comes to buying anything battery, you really are just paying for the battery and the tech. For instance, Tesla is not really put together that well, you're really paying just for the battaries, 85% of it, same with the lawn mowers. Thank you very much for your comment

    😂 Hey, I appreciate your comment .. The only thing I spent a lot of money on were the machines, and I took advantage of the bundle package that Greenworks had. When you go all electric, it costs more up front, but it pays for itself with no maintenance and no gas. I only bought a couple of handhelds with my own money. I could have taken a cheaper route, but that would be boring. I've never been one to do something small. Lol

    • @SideHustleMowing
      @SideHustleMowing Před 2 dny

      @hanalei412002 The benefits outweigh the cost. There is too much to list here, but I can say that there is no maintenance except for greasing your wheels every 500 hours. There is no gas. Less moving parts to break down. That falls into the maintenance category. There is no maintenance except for changing your blades out. The power is instant. It doesn't bog down the same as gas mowers do, but if you have a commercial gas mower that shouldn't bog down either. And the best part is I get anywhere from $3,500-$4,000 rebate at the end of the year for each mower. The best part of these mowers is the color of them, that is why I went with these guys and not Toro and their warrenty. Also they are the only company that has both commercial handhelds and mowers. Ego is saying they are coming out with a commercial mower but I have yet to see it. Hope this answers some of your questions

    I’ve had the dream of doing this for years but scared because of how expensive batteries are. I’ve run electric hand tools and push mowers for 4 years now all EGO. The batteries just started giving me crap this year. Equipment is actually pretty good. It’s the zero turns that scare me. A lot of money for something you don’t know for sure will work.

    • @SideHustleMowing
      @SideHustleMowing Před 2 dny

      Yes I was too. That is why I went with a company that has 2000 hours and 5 year warranties on everything. These are commercial use rated so they can withstand a full day of work. From all the studying I've done, they are one of the best ones to go with. Ego is a great brand as well and they just developed a commercial mower as well. When it comes to batteries, if you are using them everyday and charging them everyday, the battery life will only last 4-5 years on handhelds esp if they aren't rated for commercial use. Thanks for your comment.

      To be honest I don't remember who built it. I bought it in Tennessee but I don't want to say on a public forum because they didn't do us any favors, they just wanted a quick sale. It is definitely a good trailer, no shake, no pull. You can't feel it behind your truck at all.

    @johndenver8574 Před 17 dny

    Hello again my friend. Sec video I'm watching. I can definitely tell you were a professional photographer. Camera angles and clarity is definitely their. The kind of grass you're cutting is definitely what that greenworks is made for. Just don't cut heavy stuff. That's where I ran into trouble in my business.

  • @johndenver8574
    @johndenver8574 Před 17 dny

    Hey my friend. I too own a lawn care business and I also once used battery powered equipment, and recently went back to gas again. Beware of the weaknesses of modern batteries right now. Which is, heat, water, and tall grass. I had alot of problems with greenworks and tall grass. When I went back to gas I learned the faster you go the more pressure you put on the belt. Their also was a youtube video I watched showing if the grass is super tall greenworks works batteries drain quicker. So my best advice is go shower with those. As you will put less tension on the battery. Best of luck. I subscribed to see how everything goes. 👍

    • @SideHustleMowing
      @SideHustleMowing Před 17 dny

      Thank you very much for your comments. I always appreciate it. I'm curious as to which greenworks you had? These new mowers are state of the art and cut tall grass just fine. I've done my research, and I wouldn't buy anything if they could just cut short grass. That would be a bad investment. Like any engine you use, the more strain you put on it, the more battery or gas you will use. Regarding my photography, I haven't done anything in these videos that would showcase it. I've only used my phone and a small camera. But thanks anyways I appreciate it. Have yourself a great day. If you want to see me doing my old job where I actually know what I'm doing and I'm an expert in just look up GregoryJamesPhoto. I haven't posted in years though. But there's quite a lot of bts videos on there.

      @johndenver8574 Před 17 dny

      @SideHustleMowing I will definitely watch your old job videos. Thank you. I've watched a lot of other lawn care businesses youtube and none were as clear a picture or follow them like this camera did. As far as using greenworks mowers I used an 80v greenworks mower I still have the receipt spent over 1,000 dollars at the time greenworks didn't have commercial yet but what happened was thee batteries the same ones your using on the blower and weed waker were my problem. They over heated alot and only after a few uses had gone down to 10 mins run time. On the mower. I will send you the clip of the greenworks zero turn. Same one you have and why I decided to go back to gas.

      I had the older version but it was commercial like this one and the cut quality for some reason was never on par with gas I really don’t know why, I tried all kind of different blades, tried mulching nothing worked well. It was also WAY to heavy for my lawns it spent a lot of time in the trailer because it would just cause to much turf damage.
