    I agree, my anchor point is back too far now. I pull 30.5" so I will still have good speed at 30", but it will mean re-dialing in my sight and that's a whole process. Other than that, the UV is the best release I ever had. I really didn't expect it to be as good as it is. Maybe over time it will go down in price

    I’ve got the uv2 hinge and absolutely love
    It. Going to be saving up for the button. UV puts out a good product. I know a lot of people hate on them and the prices are a little outrageous but for me to keep a consistent anchor and switch between the two without an issue I’ll spend the money. Thanks for the video!

      @@MichiganAmBushOutdoors yeah, haven’t used a wise choice and obv both made by Carter but my buddy just got the second gen one with better internals and no travel adjustment, just trigger tension and i wish they had that one in “gold” (more like champagne colored) when i bought mine, its slickkk. Although mine were all only 200 at the time. The 2 smooth is very nice also, even tho they hit just a slight bit different. The long neck affecting the draw making it shorter i can see be frustrating. Im at 29.5” and still wouldn’t want to give up that 1/2”

  • @timbow50
    @timbow50 Před rokem +1

    I’ve become so used to this one. It fits my hand perfectly. I like the closed loop style of holding where my thumb rides deep hooked over the knob and it touches the release slightly. For me this is more repeatable than having thumb sticking out and riding on the knob kinda hanging out in space lol. This closed loop gives me maximum control I feel. I am in complete control. I use a very relaxed handso when I pull thru it doesn’t take any hand finger tension change but just pulling straight back until it pops. Honestly, I tried the closed loop because of a video of Joel Turner of IQ fame. After a months of serious, very uninterrupted, shooting my ability to shoot long distances ( for me 80 yards) so much accurately than ever. I have never shot at any animal past 55 yards and that was a coyote and haven’t ever shot a course that needed shoopast 60 yards.

    • @MichiganAmBushOutdoors
      @MichiganAmBushOutdoors  Před rokem +1

      I love my wise choice, but I started shooting a hinge this year, and every time I go back to the WC, I keep wanting to shoot the hinge For that surprise release every time.
      Recently I tried shooting the WC the same as the hinge, and my accuracy significantly improved.

    • @timbow50
      @timbow50 Před rokem

      @@MichiganAmBushOutdoors I’ve used a Total Control hinge for 3-d but not hunting. Because of the way I use WC it get the same down range results. When I do everything right it will fire unexpectedly as it can get. I know it’s going to fire if I just keep pulling thru the shot. But if anything goes wrong I can easily and more safely stop by just pulling my thumb off the knob. Like when a deer suddenly turns wrong while I’m into the shot cycle. It’s harder to control a let down with a hinge.

    • @MichiganAmBushOutdoors
      @MichiganAmBushOutdoors  Před rokem +1

      I've never hunted with a hinge, either. I might take a few does in the early season with it to see how it goes, but from the sounds of it, I shoot the WC the same way. Just place a little pressure on the thumb peg and pull until it breaks.

    I have the nock2 it and really like it but just purchased the UV in stainless and absolutely love it. Yes your draw length is a tad longer but I was able to adjust for it and shoot hood groups at a distance. It would be nice in the future if they were to shorten the neck a little but their are other ways you could shorten the draw length without changing the mods. I shortened up my d loop a bit and that made it feel better. I may change my let off next if I'm not happy enough with the d loop. Great detailed video thanks for taken the time to share this.

    • @MINIHAHA1
      @MINIHAHA1 Před rokem +1

      @Michigan AmBush Outdoors so I'm shooting the Matthew's V3X and I'm a 28.5 dl and I have 80 mods if I dropped it down to 75 it would shorten it up a little but my holding weight would increase because the cams won't be rotating as far back if that makes sense. I'm still contemplating on doing that or going with 28 mods. I'll have to get more reps in before I make that decision.

    No comparison I have the nock 2 it, the goat, abyss, UV button and UV hinge 2. The goat comes close but the UV button is just more crisp, less creep and just an overall more comfortable better fit release. Love the hinge for keeping my shots honest. I like to start practice with the hinge and go to town with a button. The carter is over priced compared to the other two.

    • @MichiganAmBushOutdoors

      I picked my Carter wise choice up for 220, which is what the Nock2it goes for, but with that said, I think the Nock2it has better quality control and a better trigger.
      I picked up a Truball HBC hinge, and I love that release. It was a tough transition, but now I shoot it super well.

    Great review! Looking to order my first thumb release and have a question about the WC size. I have smaller hands for a guy and have heard the WC is for medium to large hands. But I've also heard of some smaller-frame women using it. No local shops currently have the WC, so can't really try it out. Some of the features of the WC look good for a first thumb release, but do you think it wouldn't fit right for an average to small man hand? Also looking at the Just Cuz (no wrist strap or auto-close). Could also buy and return, but would be nice to avoid that. Thanks!
