I've seen that Autocraft bug before. Its one of those cars that looks deceptively plain from a distance, but the closer you look the more eye-popping it gets. Takes some balls to run a big-cube race motor like that on the street too!

Thanks Mike, nice video. You pin ball machine probably has an over voltage safety circuit, usually in the power supply. It might just need a small component to be replaced. Once the circuit has fired the safety, it will present a short circuit to the mains supply and blow the mains fuse again. Should be an easy fix if you can Google it with the circuit board number…

They tuned it for NA....then the drag car engine blew up. was turbo then they machined the heads down to get high compression. would need new heads, pistons and some other things to go back to turbo. Pistons had to be clearance for the valves.

So if you would like to buy VW aircooled parts, original or forged to 1000HP, beetle engine with electric injection, to upgrade Beetles or Kombis with VW certification, i recommend the Brazilian market ;)

@@countryclubpga3309 I disagree about a well built EJ being lame…you’re starting with 3 times the HP of a stock vw. It’s not just about the money. Who wants to have to tear down an engine to repair something that breaks after every other race? Or rebuild a engine annually if you put any significant miles on it while driving it hard ? I love VWs. A well maintained stock VW will go a LOT of miles between overhauls. But you start pushing past 200hp-which is less than a stock GTI these days-and you’re really pushing things with a vw based engine. 200hp is four times what a 66 vw came with from the factory. And little more than a stock EJ25.
