Wow, final point dad made was golden. U havent shown your appreciation until u pay it forwrd.
Will be rooting for this kid! That’s a solid background!
refreshing to see tennis parents who aren't complete maniacs
At 16 years old, Learner played the main draw at the US Open and won the first set off #30 Kecmanovic. Just last year Learner played the US Open again and lost a tough first round draw to then #10 Francis Tiafoe. He’s improving rapidly and will be top 100 within a few years.
Such wonderful parents. What an amazing family! Ill be cheering fo you Learner!!
Filipino tennis parent here rooting for u guys❤
Congratulations Tien, will be watching and rooting for you!
Let's go Learner! Grandma, Grandpa and all of us are always rooting for you!
The last sentence from his dad got me, deep !!
You have my support ❤
He competed in the usopen boys final or semi final.
kinda hoping that they show some of his highlights on the courts.
Good luck to him!!
Last sentence:
"Until you've truly helped someone else, you haven't truly appreciated what you have."
brilliant.

hes chinese...
@@tednguyen7258 are we just gonna ignore the title in the video?
are we gonna ignore his mom saying we are chinese from vietnam
@@tednguyen7258 two things can exist at the same time lol. Its not that big of a deal
ok ok...haha....
Great story but Vietnam is not a Third World country anymore. It’s a thriving country. I’ve lived there seven years. It’s an amazing place. I would suggest bringing your family to Vietnam and see how it is now you might not want to go back to USA.
Be objective. It has developed a lot, but it is still a low income country. I've travelled all over there. Dalat is the best.
You are correct, Vietnam is more like a developing country now with the population of nearly 100,000 million people. In 10 years it’ll be a mini China because Vietnamese people are always thriving and better themselves.
Let’s be honest Vietnam is still a very impoverished country. Most people go there as tourists, seeking enjoyment with the US dollar, you don’t see the realistic sides of the country, it lacks basics in healthcare, education, etc…the country’s leaders have absolutely no college education
@@fakegia7006 what basics in healthcare and education you are talking about? Lots of people from "developing countries" have come to our "very impoverished country" for cheap and affordable healthcare treatment, foreign students seeks medical experience here. At least Vietnamese does not suffocate of the medical debt like 100 million people in the US :))
@@fakegia7006yeah, you are right that Vietnam is still impoverished countries. However, it develops step by step. Its economics is harmonizing to the worlds economics. They have more chances to develop fastly now and future.
Forget tennis, how does one come up with Learner as a name for your kid??
@0:45 - 0:49 they might have lost a section of fans by stating "we always thought of ourselves as being chinese living in Vietnam".
I guess the mom dont need us Vietnamese as fans because although she and her husband were Vietnamese born, they never felt being Vietnamese but rather they're ancestral roots; chinese.
If that's how she feels then it is what it is. I would still cheer for her young son to be successful but he would have a stronger Vietnamese fan base if the Tien were "vietnamese". In this case they're not according to the mom
I have a friend who is ethnic Chinese that fleed Vietnam and came to the US. He considers himself to be Chinese, too.
@@EdgewoodTennis if that's how they feel then it's their choice. Nothing wrong with staying within your ancestral roots. But if they feel that they're vietnamese also then i think our mother land and vietnamese abroad would welcome them as well. We Vietnamese are not like western societies where we would say/think "go back to where you came from".
Agreed, especially when most US Vietnamese opposed Chinese government. Kinda weird for her to say that. Maybe she meant most Americans think all Asians are Chinese?
@@saidroid3220 but it's kind of weird because she feels like chinese but she does not think of going to China 😂....If you feel like italian, but you go to Germany...It just does not make much sense. But who cares...
@@asiaticonaeuropa it is weird. These chinese migrated from china to vietnam long ago dating back to the very LEAST the last imperial monarch the Manchurian but for some reason they dont want to be vietnamese 🤷🤷
One thing i do really admire about these chinese vietnamese is that although they were born and raised in vietnam, most of them were fine to just staying within their community. I guess Vietnam was quite poor back in the days as most of these chinese that were born and raised in vietnam never even bothered learning the Vietnamese language
Are there blacks in Irvine, CA?
Here we go with the race bait.🤦♂ Yes, there are many educated blacks in Irvine.
Some but not many. Some come from outside to do crime here.
@@BY-we6kx off course. What else can they do besides basketball and rap?
yeah they work at mcdonalds
yeah at night..everyone looks dark at night
What “stardom”?
China 🇨🇳
Lol, u right. If he becomes goat, congratulations
He was born in the U.S. so that makes him an American and on top of that I don’t even think he speak Chinese.
china number 1
@@tednguyen7258 then you should move and live in China, why are you still here.
