    My gutfeel is that this configuration will be more efficient if you increase PDE only to turbo inlet diameter ... i.e. never decrease the flow area as this will reflect shockwaves back.
    Make the engine longer if you want more air mass inside detonation chamber.
    Injecting water/steam will likely damage the turbo blades at high speed.
    At high RPM (turbo blade tip speed exceeding Mach 1) the shock wave reflection should reduce.

      The tesla detonation engine/turbine seems to be using a big reduction in diameter to increase pressure.
      I did not have any promising results with the car turbo.
      The tip jet turbine I designed seems to work well except the high temperature can cause it to get tight and stop spinning.
      When I build a new one it will be designed to spin a 300watt hover board motor I will have longer arms which will increase the torque with a reduction in rpm and using tapered rollers to adjust clearance to increase clearance to compensate for temp increase.
