It's funny, because we always say, "It's the indian, not the arrow." But what happens when both sets of equipment are shot by a world class archer? Theeeeen, it just might be the arrow!
Some world class groups at 66 yards 😂😂
Great vid! We need a comparison between a MID-PRICE bow ($600-$900 bare bow) and a flagship bow!
Honestly… i just got the Darton Consequence and I’d love to see that
If this was with equal sights and equal arrows this would be a gritty versus!!!
Be interesting to see the mission with a good rest to see the difference between a brisket and a fall away.
Mathews: Chris help us sell these budget bows.
Chris: on it!
Lot of people get hung up on this. The budget bows these days shoot just as nice as the "flag ships" 20 years ago. Just get what you can afford, and practice with it. Just getting people into the sport is what we need, and letting them know it's not as cost prohibitive as they think helps.
Thanks for the confidence. I just bought the Sanlida Dragon X8 for $200. I'm excited to try out this sport.
Edit: 2nd day shooting it and I'm having a blast. I've been shooting non stop. It feels well built. Does not feel cheap at all.
Amen,
Not me searching "budget bows" and every website recommending $600-$800 bows, when my budget is $50-$100. 😂😂😭😭
I'm a stay at home mom and there's no way I'm spending over $500 on a bow. But I won't let that stop me from learning, even if I get a cheap amazon bow. Now that I've gained a realistic view on prices, I'll see what I can find in the $300 range. 😅😅
Very nice video. Yeah - I shoot in the ballpark more or less as good with my Monsterbows Phoenix (leverbow) as with my Hoyt Defiant 30, at least up to 30 m. Haven't tried seriously to shoot the Phoenix at longer distances, because I use it as my 3D bow, with 4 pin sight and the Hoyt I use as my target bow, now that I since January have my Phoenix back. If I should really try to shoot a 50 m round with the Phoenix, I'd have to change the sight between the 2 bows. I use the same arrow rest on the 2 bows (NAP Quiktune 3000 Micro). But the 2 bows - more or less the same scores, with the Phoenix maybe a tad lower scores still at least on target, not so much in 3D, but still improving it. But then the leverbow is not really a budget bow - it's just shorter (at least shorter riser).
Chris Bee being stung by a Bee is pure gold. Awesome video.
Another cool test. I really like that you do all the crazy stuff the "serious" "Professional" archery guys wouldn't do. 👍
I would love to see this video done for a company like bear with their version of a flex ship versus their cheapest bow, which is like a difference of $1000.
Good comparison Chris. As you say, the less expensive bows shoot well and may help to get more people into archery.
Gday mate. I enjoy these reviews more than just flagship bows. It proves that a decent archer can still shoot good groups with a basic bow.
Bee reel catching the real bee hahaha
been watching your content for a while now, and as a videographer I appreciate your videographer and some of the stylistic shots he takes. Just wanted to give him a little love on what could have been a monotonous video.
Great comparison Chris. It really shows that you do not need to spend thousands of dollars. Its not the bow its the archer
Good to see you back to making videos like this
Aye congrats to the winner!🤙 Great video once again Chris
Great vid bro. I have had good experiences with a budget bow. Miss it actually. Loved my budget Bowtech fuel. Simple but accurate.
love this video. Really enjoy your content. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for the content. Just got a budget pawnshop bow Elite Ritual for my first ever bow. All in for Less than $500, only shot 12 today before a work trip and I’m hooked. All on bag from 20yrd but I have not sighted in yet, just shooting to learn technique and form.
Love your content bro please KEEP IT COMING
Great Video...I will buy my first bow next year. what would you buy for the first bow: flagship bow with cheaper equipment (sight, rest ...) or a cheaper bow with the most expansive equipment on the market???
Chris I'd like to see you do a review on the dragon X8 from sanlida and get your opinion on it I have that bow and I like it it's my second bow I've ever owned the first bow I owned was a bear lights out
I have the mission switch and it's a decent budget bow. That being said, I REALLY want a higher end bow. But it's nice to know that you can still shoot well with a budget bow
So what we saw was that a 400$ bow brought the meat home every time and saved you over 2 G's,
And the biggest take is practice makes perfect so get out there and fling some sticks. Nice job great vid
No video of the bee attack??? That would be some award winning footage! Good vid as usual.
Pretty sure that we’re I first seen you three thing not to do and subbed ever since haha great vid
They are very close. You would need to do a series of these under different conditions to determine which is better.
Great video. I used to shoot a mission and went to an avail when they came out. I love the Mathews products. Does the bee real grip fit the avail? My son just put one on his V3X. Keep up the info coming.
Question….how does the Whisker Biscuit handle the 4 fletch? Seems as though the bristle configuration would mess with the fletchings as it passes through.
My whisker biscuit does extremely well with 4 fletch, I have the original style though not the new v-type
It would be so awesome to get to go down to New Mexico and hunt with you brotha !
I love my mission bow got it when I was about 10 and since I cant afford a new one it still works great hopefully after college can upgrade
Good video... love your all your videos I've learned a lot from you already keep it up 👍
I bought a brand new Mathew’s v3x 33 with everything new on it was about 1800 total at the archery shop shot about 100 arrows and just dident like it and got rid of it. I’m begging to wonder if it just wasent the guy setting the bow up that made it not shoot right. Guess I’ll try hoyt next
I went from a mission hammer to a phase 4 and the difference is crazy there is a reason the phase 4 cost so much and it helped my shooting a bit
Awesome vids man your the best
You should do a hunt with the hammr that would be awesome
chris bee your my favorite youtuber.
Would arrow performance be affected trajectory wise against a brush arrow rest vs a cheap fall away arrow rest like a trophy ridge? It’s still on the budget side
I've had issues trying to shoot while the sun is out heating the ground. I believe the thermals created by the sun affect the arrow flight, then when its behind a cloud the affect is much less. This is not a proven fact, but when I went to a shady spot for the 40 yard dial, all the shots were consistent
Love the videos Chris
Thanks for the video chris
It would be cool to see you make a video killing a deer with the mission this upcoming season.
Do you more favor a single pin compared to a multi pin? I’ve shot a multi pin but looking to try to get into a single pin. And see what I’d like more.
Great 👍👍! Video Sir! "it's just amazing! That We can find Such a Beautiful Collector Combination Bow! When You could See the Original Wood Grain, On them,! Built with a Sence of Pride! 👍👍! And the Great Part is it's Fully functional! Just like it was just Made! Replacing the Strings! I would not even Add that to the Cost! Just maintenance! Rember that old saying" You don't have to be the Biggest! Just the Best!". I have the High Country Safari combination Bow! A "40" year old Bow! Just needing Strings! Beautiful! The fun part is Never Sell Old Dependable! If You want a Faster, lighter Bow! Just Buy it! But keep the Collector! People love Seeing them Too! If You are lucky enough to find an Older Combination Bow! Especially af a low price! "Buy it! Because if You leave & come back it's probably Sold! 🤣🤣😂! Oh Yeah! Don't be thinking about the Weight! Especially if you are Hunting!:: even Wild Hogs! If You get One attacking you! You may have to Use that Bow as a Club! 😂😂! That Lighter $2,000 dollars bow probably will be damaged 😂😂! So there's a Reason Why They have the Weight Folks! They built " Antique Bow's too Last! & with Pride & Quality!! I just Love the High Country, Safari, Camo color with Real Wood Grain Grip! You just don't have that will the New Designs 😂😂! But You can still get the same job done 😂😂! Great video Chris! It's Wonderful You're educating The Younger Generation that thinks they Have too Go for that Expensive Bow Up front & They Don't have to! In fact They find a great bow like Yours! They may never want to 😂😂👍👍
Thanks for the comparison, Are the cheaper bows out of China as good as a Missiom, How would they stack up ?
I’m looking for arrow rest I’m new to archery and my Trophy Ridge broke. I was shooting about 20 shots a day over a month to get some practice in. Now I’m looking at QAD Ultrarest HDX RH Black or a Hemskea Epsilon which is double to $. But as a new archery hunter and not a competitor would I even notice the difference? I’m shooting home grown Canadian APA Mamba M6 if anyone is wondering .. thanks for the feedback
Imagine, chris "bee" stung by a bee 😂
Chris....what portable bow vise can I use on the Mathews bows and other beyond parallel bows?
Chris bee gets stung by bees 🐝🤣
Not enough gap for the dollar difference!!!
I still shoot a bear 2012 legion that I am very happy with. Just changed strings to gas and am having problems with the stings not lining up on the servings to bow SURPRESORS and the cams on bottom. My shop says they will fix it since only been two months. 12:58 Already tried on cams to splice with no luck and when I put string SURPRESORS on really had problems. Glad I bout from a reputable shop. H 12:58 ope they can fix after 12 years just changing strings and don't know what has went wrong
I had already bought strings but the cables broke thats when the put gas on they say. I don't know difference but I got charged for first string and installed so thought I told them I wanted top strings. Now this is happening but they say they will fix im taken it back to see
Love your videos bro. Learned a lot from them
Love the video, are you going to Metropolis for the ASA tournament.
You should partner with McDonald’s and sell a Chris Bee Chicken Sandwich. Food for thought
Probably ought to optimize the stabilizer setup on budget to give optimum comparison
I think his comparison are okay. Too many factors that are different and ultimately can be a big reason one performed better. It’s tedious but here is the list
(same bow string, same arrow, same poundage, same (axle to axle) if possible, same sights, more controlled indoor range, same rest) and then I’ll consider these better comparisons of expensive and cheap bows. Tbh for what the cheap bow had, it did very well. But I’ll say, the bare minimum should be same poundage, same arrows, and same rest. That should of been all the same to make a better and more accurate test.
First of all, love your videos. You are making videos that help a lot of people learn more about archery.
The test of the two bows would of been better if they both had the same draw weight, rests, stabilizers, brace height, and arrows. Then do the test indoors where the wind won't affect arrow flight.
Just saying
The old range!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah!!!!!
YEAH BUDDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OLD!!!!!!!! RANGE!!!!!!!!
What a difference in sound between the 2 bows
You shoot very well.......👍👍👍
What binos and harness are you using?
Nice I’m from New Mexico what unit are you guys going to be hunting I also have an archery elk tag as well
To be a more consistent test both bows should have as close as possible set up. Also were both bows paper tuned before the test? The less variables the better the comparison, but overall a good video.
i’m sure they were both perfectly tuned because he just used the budget now at tac
I can clearly see there is no reason to buy a "Mathew's Phase 4" when a budget bow shoots as well. I could hear it in the sound of the arrow release to target. A little longer sound wave on the Hammer but really close. Since Mission is owned by Mathew's and probably built in China, I would like to see a comparison between Diamond, Dragon X8 and Mission. Beans to Beans. Great Video otherwise.
Hey mate..just got my new bear legend xr..olive..abbey archery in Australia..fantastic customer service..hats off to them..stay safe brother..keep them vids going..🤪👍🇦🇺
Get a bow that feels good in the medium budget range. Depending how confident that you are that you will remain shooting invest in a decent release, rest and sight (together way more expensive than a good budget bow but more important than the bow nowadays). Get someone who coaches you in the beginning and practice a looooooot😂. Have fun!
It would be interesting to see if you shot the same arrows vs .001 to .006 and the same poundage? Also I haven't watched the entire video yet...
great stuff...
4 fletch out of a biscuit is gonna be all over the place.
What sight is on the nicer bow?
I like videos like this not everyone can afford a expensive bow
Can you do a budget bow build hunt. I built a bow I guess you can call a budget build off your videos. I did the same way you did and I killed a deer doing it but a video would be absolutely amazing. Your fan hunterdan
Such a staged phonecall lol 😂
Do a hunt with the budget bow
What is and where can I get those big of a target?
it is the Archer ... thats a fact, for sure is your equipment high level the Archer usually shoots better
Yes stony lake I’ll be that way tomorrow
Accelerated sight and ultraview scope is a budget?
What brand are those targets?
I've noticed Chris' left eye is always more closed than his right eye - I wonder if this is because he's constantly closing it bc he's constantly aiming/shooting his bow....?
Just sighted in my xr..pretty happy..
With a fall away Rest the Mission were as good as the Phase 4
Could you do a full gear brake down for the 23 whitetail season
Hey Chris, if you see this comment please respond, how can I fix peep rotation? It’s annoying me and I can’t have peep rotation whole hunting.
your d loop is off.
Hey what is the sight that you are using?
I have a hammr, and it is quite the bow for the price.
Just shot 189 out of 200 today and got 5th place out of 100 and some people with my mission hammr.
Thata why I get bear archery bows, affordable and I love single cams.
I think the problem on the budget bow is the cheap 🫏 whisker biscuit! Use a better rest and I bet it would’ve done waaay better!
Trade pink slips to a lucky subscriber who doesn’t own a bow yet
Do I see you take the mission hammr into the woods???
What target back stop is that
BEEREAL. 😂
What is a good budget arrow to build
Not spending much money. Gamechanger
Why is the not titled bee real vs real bee
I have a mission ballistic thaat i paid $350 for and it shoots great!
daddy chris
Love how your showing people that you don’t need to spend thousands of dollars to get into archery
he is not really showing that
Everythings about mathews 🤭🤭🤭
Trx 40 vs trx 38?????
