Hey friends! Let's talk in depth about the new Kringle Candle scent in Salt Water Taffy. This one has a strange, funky scent when not lit, but smells amazing when burning. I have never had this happen with a candle lol. What is your experience? Please be sure to subscribe if you are new!

That is so interesting about the change on cold sniff🤔. I have this in the three wick, but haven’t lit it yet. That sour milk note is what my nose smelled last year when I had Homeworx Banana Berry Smoothie.
I am so ready for the wax melts to go on sale to try these fragrances. I'm still on a candle no-buy as I whittle down my stash, but I'm game for the melts.
I live in a small ranch style house, open concept but small. I personally love the throw on the 2 wick tumblers. The 3 wick is too much.
Love to hear this. yes, there should be options for all styles of homes.
I just got my spring candle order (Finally... 🤣) an hour ago, I ordered Mon Amour, Tea Time & Salt Water Taffy (So now I'm curious about that sour note post-burn... 🤨 Haha...) But I'm still burning my Dalgona candle, and I hate jumping from one candle to another, and leaving a trail of used candles. But that's my OCD... Lol...

Hi Melanie, I just ordered all of the daylights in the Kringle spring 23 scents, including this Salt Water Taffy, so I’m excited to try them out! I imagine that I’ll be buying a few in the large two-wick jars. I also wanted to comment on the unpleasant smell you’re experiencing with this scent when it is unlit. I thought the Watermelon Pop scent from last spring/summer smelled very sickeningly sweet and almost like vomit when I first got it in the daylight. But it seemed to dissipate once I burned it and became enjoyable. However, the next time I would go to burn it, when I would take the lid off, I would pick up on the same vomit-like note. I found that same vomit smell in the Kringle Herbal Tea scent too. 🤷🏻♂️
Oh interesting! I am glad I am not the only one that randomly get's the sour note. It totally is not there when I am burning it but as soon as the wax hardens... vomit lol. Strangest thing ever. Loved it enough tho to order the 3 wick haha!
As a Dane I can only see the label as inspired by Nyhavn in Copenhagen 😆 But to be fair, Norway is a neighbor of ours, and we share many similarities, so maybe you're spot on with this one 😁

Hi Melanie! I recently ordered the Salt Water Taffy in the 3-wick after smelling the daylight on cold sniff, which I thought smelled just like SWT. Interesting that you are getting the sour note, and now I'm wondering if I will when I have the larger candle in hand because I am one of those who tends to pick up sour notes in certain candles. Like, BBW's Sprinkled Birthday Cake and Iced Lemon Pound Cake. I got the sour note on cold and on burn with those two, which broke my heart! I guess I'll just have to remember not to sniff the SWT on cold if I do get that note! 😂 I'm with you though, I like to bask in my candles scent - give me STRONG! 😂😂
P.S. I've been using the daylights as wax melts which allows for me to experience the scent much stronger than burning it. Just tried the Cookies and Cream and it was okay. Definitely loving the Blueberry & Coconut Tart - YUM. Purchased the large!
P.S.S. Was just checking out Kringle's site and noticed the Blueberry & Coconut Tart is sold out. OMG! They better produce more because I'm going to need it again!
Oh there will be more to come I am sure! The spring and summer scents are set to be around throughout the next several months so I am positive more will be poured. BBW's birthday cake also gave me that sour note! I used to never notice it. Now... I do. Such a bummer!
I have burned the three wick and don’t smell the sour milk post burn. Could your sense of smell be off from Covid? Just a thought. I tried to see if I could smell what you’re smelling and really couldn’t. I moved the last little bit to my candle crock and it’s a little powerhouse there and smells wonderful too.
I did have covid back in September but I don't feel like I had any lingering effects. I mean it sucked, but after I went right back to normal I feel like. But who knows. It is a strange virus indeed!

The gold part is the bottom half of my Chester Pottery Barn hurricane (now discontinued) and the candle pedestals is HomeWorx (this one is also now discontinued).
