no elves are in the sylvaneth roster. rememeber: they took that form intentionally to interact with non sylvaneth better. they still by lore hate the elves and alarielle doesnt like the elven gods
Yeah they can't stand the elves because they see the wanderers as trators/cowards for leaving for safety when they felt they couldn't do anything more to help. A lot of people forget this.
My fiancé and I are just getting into the hobby and picked this for our first box. I am super excited about Sylvaneth and he loves Skaven. We haven't even played our first game yet but we've assembled our models and are working on painting them and it's been great. Cant wait to see what else GW puts out going forward and what other armies I may be drawn into once I'm happy with my Sylvaneth.
i play both armys but the skaven side of the box is really lackluster so i'm more hyped for sylvaneth also cause new models
nearly 400 pts in favor of the trees.... why didnthey include the cost of the summonable Verminlord off the bell in the skavenside if most new players wont have that
I really want to play skaven but every time I look at their model range it just looks so dated and feel like the price is just unfair still

Maybe I missed it, but could you make a video about the Great Horned Rat? It’s unclear to me how he fits in with the other chaos gods and what his whole “thing” is. Thanks for all the great content, Doug!
He is kind of like throwing a wrench in the cogs of a machine, adds even more chaos.
He ofc is independent with his own ambitions and I'd kind if compare him to nagash. Ironically nagash too rose to God hood via warp stone which is chaotic in nature, a mineral of chaos. So the rats are heavily into this and what really ties them to chaos.
Hope that gives some background and would be cool to see some horned rat lore 🐀

If you take away the old world most of the charm with Skaven are lost.

In what way?
As one of GW’s more original creations the Skaven have lost the least compared to other races. They still retain their Clan system, scheming nature, sense of entitled superiority. Fun speech patterns, crazy weapons and mutant creatures and the Council of Thirteen. The only things they’ve lost are certain characters such as Queek Head Taker or Lord Skrolk plus their original capital of Skavenblight. Besides these things Skaven are still Skaven.
