Jigging for yellas is such an effective way to fish but also sooo much fun on the light/medium gear.
Thanks for another interesting/awesome video!
Vertical jigging around structure so deadly. Plastics, blades, salt, fresh.
Thanks for watching mate! 🤙🎣
Mate that’s a cracking session on the yellas with the switch blade great work loved it can’t wait for the water to drop a bit more so I can get up the Murray and have a crack at that great video
Much appreciated mate! If the flows drop during spring I reckon the fishing will be amazing
Great to see so many natives about. Great video mate
The river certainly is in good condition after the floods 🙌
Nice mate. I smashed the back of Nagambie with Ecogear vibes last year!
Nice one!
Absolutely smashed them mate, heading up the river in a couple of weeks, hopefully she’s alive 👍
Finger crossed mate! Thanks for watching 🎣
Another great clip Lubin. All your clips are very well explained with tackle and techniques . I went out a few weeks back and tried the blades but the water was really cold and the yellas were shut down. Will give it another go in Spring when they’re aggressive
Spring will be really good I reckon! Thanks for watching mate 🎣
Love the vid mate! I've caught a lot of yellas doing this around Hattah Kulkyne, absolutely deadly technique. I've actually caught a surprising amount just deadsticking the blade half a meter of the water column, a big pause really seems to suck em in!
It’s crazy how they hit it just static! Thanks for watching the channel mate 🤙🎣
Gotta get me a good boat setup and get out there properly need a good fish weekend
Sounds like a plan mate! 🎣
try taking off back treble and add a assit hook will make hook up rate increase when they are realy not committed
Absolutely mate, the assists would make a big difference
I dont use trebles at all, I find fish get off much easier on them.
As soon as I get lures home either assist hooks or quality singles get put on
What size assist hooks and where from please mate ?
@deanarnold6933 hi mate I use atomic trick bits assist hooks size #08-,ns hooks any good tackle store I use my local store around $8.99 for three sets
Another great video Lubin thanks. What are your thoughts on the red spots on the fish. I see on there with it in his dorsal fin. Get similar blemishes on bream ??
Many thanks Peter! The red spots are caused by anchor worms as far as I know which can be picked up but the fish in various ways
Ever picked up a cod jigging the snags? I associate jigging with Redfin and Yella’s more but would be curious if you’ve ever caught one on a blade. Great vid again mate👌
I’ve caught some smaller cod doing it in the Murray and have heard of some bigger models eating them as well!
@@thefullscale-fishingadvent2917 yeah ok cheers, have heard of people picking up some beasts in some of the lakes over east and in some of our SA reservoirs but was just interested to know how you go in the Murray. Thanks👍
Should drift around it on slow speed with the electric and you will get more fish and cover more area of the snag
I find its far more effective tying up and fishing right in the snag but its definitely a good thought!
@@thefullscale-fishingadvent2917 I ussaly go about 20 meters drifting because they sometimes just like the deeper water away from the snags abit too
i got a 57cm and a 55 cm callop on a switchblade
Hi Lubin
Great vids what was approximate depth in those snags
Barry
Thanks mate. I like snags between 2-4 metres in depth
Ripper vid
Much appreciated mate!
Another great callop video. Do you know what the flow rate was on the day you filmed?
Thanks man! It was a month or so ago so it’s picked up a fair bit since then, it may have been around 14-15k.
@@thefullscale-fishingadvent2917 cheers. Didn't think the flow in you video looked like 40000 megaliters.
Wicked video mate, what size hook and blade you recommend?
1/4oz TT switchblade is the go
Wow, looking at going to Rocklands next month? Any recommendations were to stay? I’ll have ago at lures but normally fish with live bait
Its either camping or the caravan park if you want to stay close
how deep is the water you are fishing in
hey Lublin mate i am going up to the river in a month and a half, i was just going to ask what those blades actually are called an where you can get them? love the videos too mate.
Hey man, those blades are called TT switchblades and I use the 1/4oz one. Most good tackle stores will have them
@@thefullscale-fishingadvent2917 thanks for this Lublin I will try them out
I have a blade but mine has 4 and I’m not sure which one is good for jigging
Have you been trying different colours? Curious if the fish can see anything or if it's just the vibrations they are hitting.
I’ve caught them on a few different colours it doesn’t seem to make a difference hey, so I think it would absolutely be the vibration they are hunting
How long do you spend at each snag before moving on?
About 10minutes if nothing’s happening
Its really awesome to see the yellowbelly so fat and healthy
The flood is always the best thing for yellas!
I really want to go to the Murray and catch some yellowbelly they are so fun
