  • 💡 While I still mainly use Google Chrome at work, I "supplement" my work browser with Microsoft Edge as my personal browser since it has so many cool features. In this video I'll break down 9 Microsoft Edge Features that Google Chrome doesn't seem to have...yet!
In the never-ending debate of Microsoft Edge vs. Google Chrome - which is the better browser - there is no right answer...but there are exclusive features! For example, Edge has an Immersive Reader mode that lets you browse webpages without distractions AND within it, the Read Aloud function is great way for you to "listen" to PDFs like you would a podcast!
Furthermore, Microsoft Edge has the "Save to Collections" feature that is extremely useful when you're doing research and looking to consolidate information on a given topic in 1 central location. And of course, while the Sidebar Search function is great, it could be even better if we could change the default search engine... 😉

@@JeffSu you must not have been using firefox then..
youtube video freeze.. youtube comment not posting.
constant loading screens when switching tabs.
      slow page loadings
      slow javascript loading
firefox did make a real good progress recently on 94 update..
but enough of the problems still remained.. like freezing youtube video.. specially on 2nd monitor while playing a game..
and the cherry on top was the new proton UI..
which was totally absurd looking... was change just for sake of a change.. so many users left FF after proton UI..
after these terrible experience for about 4 months i went to FF subreddit and saw people having same problem.. so it wasn't me.. then i decided to make the switch.. and gave Edge a shot.

I have been hooked on vertical tabs for decades on the "old" Firefox with the appropriate extentions. Once you have used them, it's a major annoyance to go back to horizontal tabs. When Firefox phased out the classic extentions that were able to deliver that I switched to Pale Moon, and have been a happy camper there for years. But unfortunately more and more websites tend to use "Chrome Engine Only" features these days, so something happened that I thought would never happen, I installed a Microsoft product on my Linux box, because Edge is a better Chrome than Chrome.....

I have used many browsers in my low spec laptop (i3 7gen, 4gb ram) - Chrome, Opera, Brave and they are all so resource hungry It would take around *2 minutes* to open chrome and lag in searching, not responding, etc. I was searching for an alternative which would not be resource hungry. And then, I came across Microsoft edge.
Microsoft Edge is best browser for my laptop because :
    - It is not at all resource hungry.
    -It's runs super smoothly.
-There are extensions also such as Ad-blockers and other cool stuffs.
    -Startup boost.
-Good Privacy settings (Normal, Standard, Strict).
-And the 9 features mentioned in this video, especially the inbuilt reader mode and its own pdf reader.

Edge Store has extensions that in the Chrome store do not exist, such as Universal Bypass (to automatically bypass security sites when downloading programs), its interface is much more worked and is more pleasant and with each update they always improve or add something cool, unlike chrome. I found your video really helpful (so much that I suscribed to your channel).
I am starting to use Edge as primary browser because Chrome slows down my old iMac and it seems to be better than Safari. On the other hand, I would like to make some small remarks:
1-IMHO your speaking speed is too fast for aged guys like me (75), but this is not a problem thanks to the CZcams feature that allows you to slow the speed of the video.
2-feature #1 (Immersive reading mode) not all websites have the icon available, so aged guys keep wondering what's going on that we cannot find it in the address bar. Just please warn us about this.
3-feature # 6 (save web content to Collections): it took me several minutes to realize that I had to pin the Collections screen otherwise, it disappears if I tried to add content in it. In all other tutorials there is no mention to this, so it might be something changed with the new Edge versions, or maybe my lack of experience
