2023 was a rough year for us all, but I think 2024bis gonna rock! Super excited to see what you create, and looking forward to making stuff too! 🎉 🎉🎉 (I also have xmas gifts to finish...)
I'd love to see your 80s patterns and yarn stash, maybe your thoughts of pairings and we can give you some feedback. I think Goal 10 might be the priority to help clear the space and bring mental clarity for the all the other goals. My craft goals are to finish the many wips and get back to some sewing.
Yes! You know, when working with vintage yarn, one of the things I'm very cognizant of is the finite quantity. So pairings will be essential, and I aim to never start one of those projects without a backup plan for additional yarn and ways to work in colorblocking. And there are some I'm having trouble deciding about or haven't found anything to go with yet. Feedback will definitely be desired!
I love that! The design is square (although I think I also have a rectangle version with additional colors) with varying shapes of color. I'll be stitching one whole block of color at a time. So for knitting, unless you work in duplicate stitch on some premade stockinette, you'll work in a different order. I'm guessing intarsia (and a few spots of stranded colorwork) starting from one edge. But it won't be a mystery, so you'll definitely be able to. I'll be watching with great delight to see how it knits up! You'll probably make me want to turn it into an 80s sweater. I'll do an intro video ahead of time, going over the pattern, colors and possible materials so you can prepare.

Oh man, I hope so! Good luck with your gifts. Kinda nice to know it's not just me...
