  • Their music made them famous. Their lives made them infamous. Watch #TheDirt on #Netflix March 22, 2019.
    Based on Mötley Crüe’s 2001 best-selling autobiography, The Dirt is an unflinching and uncensored story about sex, drugs, rock ‘n roll, fame, and the high price of excess. Director Jeff Tremaine (JACKASS co-creator, BAD GRANDPA) shows us just how Nikki Sixx (Douglas Booth), Mick Mars (Iwan Rheon), Tommy Lee (Colson Baker), and Vince Neil (Daniel Webber) took Mötley Crüe from the Sunset Strip to the world stage, and what it meant to become the world’s most notorious rock band.

      From what I read in The Dirt (book written by Nikki Sixx) and The Motley Crue biography (or autobiography?). The reason why he can't handle Motley Crue is because of they always created troubles and didn't care of their surrounding, like burning their hotel room, etc. Their manager was always the person who had to deal with the consequences either by paying the victims off or apologizing to people affected.

      @lars' 1996 toothpick I doubt that. The nostalgia alone from the 80's would have drawn a crowd to this movie. There are lots of Motley Crue fans as well as rock fans and people who would go. Look at the most recent queen movie. People love movies, if done right about their favorite bands. It's just the PC bullshit that is killing things. Because they don't want to offend. And Motley Crue were all about offending people in the 80's. That's what they did in the 80's offended the shit out of as many people as possible.

      @DanielJesseLife Před 5 lety +37

      @@frankv5217 The reason this movie took over 10 years to realize is because it started out at MTV movies, and then Paramount - neither studio would do it the justice the band wanted and wouldn't let the band have the control they wanted. Netflix let all that happen. Also it's a genius move on Motley's side because while all the kids and adults who have never heard of the Crue are mindlessly surfing Netflix and come across The Dirt, they will watch it out of curiosity, and the Crue will probably pick up new fans because of that. If it were in theaters, only the hard core Crue fans would buy a ticket - missing out on a huge potential fan base. I think Motley did it 100% correct. I think that because they had so much say in the production - it should be a very accurate representation for the budget they had.

    This movie was so epic I had to watch it on my phone because my family won't comprehend the power that rock n roll has. They won't be able to see past the drugs and graphic scenes. But I saw past the negative part of the story, heard and felt the positive part. All on all this movie kick started my heart!

    • @eddierojas934
      @eddierojas934 Před 5 lety +3

      Agree but that day will never come because nobody has the same level of coolness that only Crüe had as they were the ones that made the glam metal genre huge. Every band that came after them didn’t and never will come close (Poison and Ratt come to mind). In fact they’ll wanted to be Crrüe ! Crüe heads will know what I’m talking about ! If there was a band that came out now that was like Crüe they would all be in prison in this day and age lol. I’m glad there isn’t any bands like them. It just confirms there legendary status.

    • @eddierojas934
      @eddierojas934 Před 5 lety

      Grant Hendricks - saw them when they opened for Crüe in 2005. They were total AC/DC clones far as music goes (in the best way) but you could tell that they were Crüe fans because of the way they performed. I bought every Airbourne album since.

    When I was in high school my sister lived in the same neighborhood as Tommy Lee and Heather Locklear. She often saw them around town and she told me one day that she saw Locklear looking through all of the magazines at the store with her friend trying to find a picture of Lee with some other woman which someone had told her about. I couldn’t believe they showed Locklear throwing the magazine down at Lee in the movie. 🤣

    This was a fantastic movie. Honestly I think they should’ve done a 6 Part series so it could last longer and show more. This is a great movie to watch if your looking for a great band biopic but don’t watch it with your parents even if your dad or mom is a Motley Crue fan. Trust me. It’s awkward. All in all it was great
