- I decided to volunteer to be a trail sweeper for the Iron Furnace Trail Runs held at Lake Hope State Park in Zaleski State Forest on April 6, 2024. Two new course records were set; Josh Park on the men's side and Jenny Brewer for the women. It was a beautiful day for a trail race and glad I had the opportunity to volunteer for the SEOTR (South Eastern Ohio Trail Runners). Interesting to see this side of the race!
I certainly enjoyed it, thanks for watching!
I’m glad to realized you weren’t going to have to follow the folks on a 13 mile nature hike. Jason wants to RUN
Yeah that would have been a long day!
Great job volunteering Jason! Bet it felt good to be on that side of an event and still be able to get out but not have to beat yourself up :)
Amazing both men’s and women’s records got beat with the trail conditions on top of it.
Yes it was very nice not killing myself during a race for a change lol. However, two weeks later I ran the Sheltowee 50k down in Morehead and it was awful!!! It hurt so bad that I might even be giving up running and just do more backpacking haha
@@jasonwish- I had to give up trail running because I was worried it would get to the point I couldn’t hike anymore. My will misses it but my knees don’t lol
Good job man!
Thanks, Kelly!
Awesome !! I need to make a video of Marking and Sweeping DT Stone Anvil in Georgia
Thanks, you should!
I just looked up this race, it sounds similar to the Firefly 12 hour over night endurance run that I did a few years ago. I only got 40 miles in but it was certainly a memorable experience!
Wow, upon further investigation, that Stone Anvil is one huge race!!
Nice to see that you your little volunteer
But I have a question
As a coarse sweeper you're supposed to pick up the flags as you go by correct
The question is why were you leaving so many behind you
Again just a curious question
And did you go back to pick them up
Another awesome little video by the way
The first two miles was repeated at the end as the runners came back so those course markings were picked up at the very end. Thanks CG!
@@jasonwish-
