2021 Honda City RS Hatchback Drive Impressions and Review!

- The 2021 Honda City hatchback is the latest top of the line Honda City variant in the Philippines, since it is more expensive than the similarly featured 2021 Honda City RS Sedan. It has the same features and specs as the RS sedan, which makes me wonder, why would you get choose the City Hatchback RS over the City Sedan RS?
It all boils down to the drive. The Honda City RS Hatchback has a sharper drive and feels more responsive than the sedan. It is a pocket rocket in the same line as the Civic Type R, and can give other hatchbacks like the 2021 Mazda 2 hatchback a run for tis money. In fact, the Honda City RS Hatchback feels like the fastest subcompact hatchback available in the Philippines now. In this Filipino car review, we take a look at the features of the 2022 Honda City RS Hatchback and see what you get for your money. Then I take it out for a drive to see if it justifies the higher price over the Honda City RS Sedan version.
It may be priced at the same level as the Geely Coolray, but not all car buyers want a crossover. The Honda City definitely feels more nimble and quick on its feet. It is more expensive than the Toyota Vios GR-S, but the City hatchback has a sportier suspension and steering response. Honda truly knows how to make sporty vehicles and the Honda City hatchback is proof that they haven't forgotten how to make sporty rides, even if it has a CVT.

Request ko lang, sir. Kung pupwede.. Everytime you do reviews on sedans, kindly include a portion like, "the Road Humps test", AND "the Basement Parking Test". I am a sedan/hatch guy and of the three sedans/hatch i owned, (one after another), ang pinakamalala na palaging sumasayad sa basement parking at sa humps ay yung 1st gen na honda jazz. I am now planning to buy a camry and if you can do a review on that, you might as well do the tests the i requested. Thanks in advance.

Which one feels faster? City RS or Mazda 2 premium?
My experience working for Ford KSA that the technology now is more advance no need for a engine temp marker. The cooling fan will always on the high and you will feel it once the engine temp is not on the normal mode.

The sale of this unit should flop. The City mini-sedan will just cannibalize the sale of this Jazz replacement. When I opted for a Jazz two years ago, I had insufficient 50% cash downpayment. Now that I have ready cash, the Jazz is no longer available for sale. Ah, bad trip! City hatchback to replace the Jazz?? Sheezh, seriously!?? Hetong City hatch ang dapat ma-phased out nang maaga at ipalit yng WR-V. kung tigil na talaga si Honda Phil magbenta ng Jazz.
You may try to inquire with Honda Manila. I believe they still have Jazz units

Worse deal than my Jazz RS 2019. Why? City Hatch has a bigger exterior (30cm longer!) - but no bigger interior space than the Jazz. City Hatch weighs more than the Jazz, but it has virtually the same engine. Guess what that means for acceleration & fuel economy? Styling is subjective , but I prefer the Jazz. City Hatch looks OK, but like many of the Honda Jazz Club Philippines members, I am not hyped for this City Hatch and it feels like a bit of a backstab to current Jazz owners. Going by the factual numbers, it's a slightly worse deal than the Jazz. Don't get me wrong please, it looks pretty good on its own merits but as Jazz RS replacement, it feels like a step down. Might have been slightly more tempting if they offered the 1.0 Turbo engine and Type-R grey paint. Nonetheless, I give your video a thumbs up :) By the way, I got my Jazz from Honda Cars Manila ;).
