I saw it many many times. In Paris it was crazy at the time this movie was released, in theaters audience standed up and clapped during long minutes after screening, outstanding incrediblle historical spectacle I saw ! Merci beaucoup from Paris France.
I wish that my film class had that type of enthusiasm after watching Dead Poets Society! It was truly beautiful, a wonderful film filled with passion and inspiration, love and care, and it brought sadness along with it. I was in tears by the end of my class, and still in tears going into 2nd period. Neil as a character had touched me in a way I've never felt, I've never been more pulled into a singular character, and that's because I've never had so many similarities with one. Not to mention, Mr. John Keating, or Oh Captain, My Captain. He's given me hope as a child who never grow up with a father figure. He's someone I can look up to in that way and he's just a meer film character, a character and a few words written in a book. This film introduced me to two beautiful characters and I'm truly grateful that I was able to watch this movie.
Oh me! Oh Life! Of the questions of these recurring Of the endless trains of the faithless Of the cities filled with the foolish The question, oh me, so sad recurring: What good amid these, oh me, oh Life? Answer That you are here, that Life exists & identity That the powerful play goes on & you may contribute a verse. WWhitman

this small scene starting at 02:15 will ever brings these tears to my eyes, which will make my papers in front of me wet. Seeing how Robin is smiling and for just a split second is not acting anymore when he raises his arms. just like Robin my brother and my parents commited suicide. reasons I will never find out, but being thankful for the live I had with them, each second of my crazy life as well.
Well, we now know what happens when you get rid of the teachers like Mr. Keating. Maybe it's time to find and hire and pay the Mr. and Mrs. Keatings of the world and put them back in charge of teaching our kids?
This is beautiful... Could you please tell us which musical pieces or scores you use, in the descriptions? They're so beautiful, and I wish to know them If you may, could you tell me what you used here? It's so beautiful
the best part of the movie is when the student who originally thought Mr. Keating was all b.s....stands up on the desk in support

Peter Weir is such an amazing director, and the performance of Robin Williams here is completely amazing
As I said before. The world has become a colder & more hateful place since he left us coming up on 7 years ago.

Beautiful
words and ideas can change the world
Ideas will either turn the world to its greatest version.. or create a abominable tarnation
It was a remarkably well written movie I think that has held true. Obviously these were kids who were too young to see what lay ahead.
One of greatest films ever made.
Loved Robin’s acting skills. He was best known as a comic but his classical style was legendary! RIP Robin, you are missed. ❤
now I didn’t need to cry today but
Between this and Good Will Hunting his two best rolls. Fantastic comedian and actor. RIP Robin Williams, we will miss you

surely the background music in this clip is Phillip Glass. But from which piece? Sounds a bit like Satrigrahah (sp?)
The title of the background music is "The People Song" By Kyle Preston
@@zeveolbum thanks. It did sound "glassy" to me but I am happy to learn what it actually is.
