So glad you have got Paul Weller on. Not only does his band define a generation. He’s also got top notch taste in music. One of the UK’s most underrated musicians.
Underrated? Maybe in the USA. But he's recognised everywhere else as a musical God, up there with McCartney.
I saw it Paul one evening in New York and he was kind enough to speak with me. Agreed can’t figure out why the US never truly appreciated his art. Seems that New York, Boston, Los Angeles and San Francisco are pockets of appreciation and that’s about it.
Was sitting in Fremantle, Perth, WA waiting for 2021 to roll in, and was listening to Tame Impala, The Jam and Style Council. Nice start to a New Year.
I'm of course not surprised, but what excellent taste he has.
Maybe T Rex....but not for me re the other stuff. Especially the German guy.
I would love to shop in that store.
After all these years the man is the epitome of cool as fuck
PW still remains a man of great taste and class.
His selection of music was superb and eclectic - Traffic, Coltrane, Dinah etc.
Good luck to him.
Paul never disappoints
What a wide musical thinker Paul Weller is... An artist who appears so honest in his tastes.. Someone I couldn't pigeon hole if I was asked to explain his style to anyone..
Brilliant honest description of Paul Weller of world mucic he knows, dropping pearls of wisdom as always
I had "What a Difference a Day Makes" played at my wedding in 2000...love it!!
How could i miss Coltrane.., my oh my what a taste he got!!
I bought that exact T Rex record from Amoeba before seeing this. I think this is conclusive proof that I am Paul Weller!!
dunno are you ?
Love that he’s holding up a Rodriguez album in the thumbnail.
Aww thats too bad you’re not happy to be yourself….😢
Jesus Paul stay out of the sun, LOL. We are about the same age and I was lucky enough to see The Jam in '78, funny that clip they showed of T-Rex I was there (and can see my and my sister's heads bopping to the beat at the front of the stage.) I also love Dinah Washington, I do believe that i am musically in tune with Mr Weller, LOL
Modfather
So cool musical tastes. I'm not so surprised he hardly made a bad, cheesy record in all his entire CV from the Jam to the Style Council and beyond.
Brilliant open mind and tastes to boot. No wonder he's so good.
Eclectic tastes indeed..Love Paul he really does lead the way..hopefully many people will check out his suggestions I definately will..that's how I started playing..
Whats in my bag? Ten copies of In The City.
Still not enough
That first track is "Around the Lake" from the album "Sonik Kicks."
I shopped in Amoeba San Francisco a few years ago and was blown away by the size and the breadth of music, I would love to go back someday.
Paul Weller always awesome..good albums.
A Love Supreme is a record I wish I could hear for the first time again!
What a genuine pleasure.
some of my best and least popular hairstyles have been based on paul weller.
I got into several albums/ artists though this video. Thank You
That's awesome! Thanks for watching!
great taste in music paul weller.
The jam and style council. Jesus, the sheer talent this man had. Such amazing bands.
Great pics!!
I don't remember whose interview it was, but he said he was invited to Paul Weller's place and Paul asked him if he would like some beer, the guy said "yes" and Paul said he was off to the nearby store to buy beers and whatever. Then he disappeared in his room and a couple of minutes later he turned up again in full gear, nice polo, perfect trousers, stylish loafers,"I'll be back in a minute", lol !
Paul Weller seems to know every bit of good groove.
If my memory is correct, more than 20 years ago, he praised Natacha Atlas and that was the first time I ever listened to Arabic beat.
Must be a lot of fun if I could dance to his selection of records...
Daaamn same things i really love! Made me smile
Me squealing because I have listened to and love so many of his choices! I think the only think I wasn't au fait with was the Ethiopian and even then it sounds a lot like Fela! Love you Paul! :-D xx
The Modfather!!! Love The Jam. #GoingUnderground Watching from London UK.
oh man i would love to go shopping here. this looks like the best music shop in the world
As a fellow 1970 chelsea nutter ... bit tired of paul being iggy pop,s apprentice ........ but you helped to build me up as a council estate kid thanks the jam i got it saw the jam live many times love you
DOPE! Considering the breadth of his catalogue...these picks make sense.
I always think of Weller as crabby and arrogant but he comes across as super thoughtful here...plus I literally feel like my brain is expanding with knowledge as he talks.
this guy has great taste. stockhausen has always been hit/miss w/ me but everything else here i really love. props.
Knew Weller would have taste!

O brabo 🔥⚡
Tame Impala liked by Paul Weller and Simon LeBon. You must be proud, mates ;)
Tame Impala are from Perth, Western Australia but might prefer to be known as from Fremantle the port city.
@@jacobedwards4942 lol its the same city just 20kms from Perth cbd but all the bohos live there and think its cool to say they're from there so they think they're avoiding the 'Perth' mining boom stigma but really everyone knows they're just from Perth and trying to be cool ha
@@fotoautomatmusic haha exactly! Plus Freo is the richest area in the state but they all pretend to be struggling musicians
When I heard where they are from I was expecting new Triffids and got disappointed. Will give them another try,
Love a bit Tame Impala. That second album is heavenly!
Not that there are that many record stores even open nowadays, but if I lived near Amoeba somebody would have to enforce a restraining order to stop myself from living there and going bankrupt. After 2800 LP's and 2100 CDs I finally had to call it quits a few years ago. Still nice a music oasis like Amoeba exists. 👍🎵🎵🎵💖
i love paul weller
Brilliant Paul
Good selections from Weller, an eclectic mix.
Not the point I know, but I love his voice.
OMG went to the record shop a week before this and bought the exact same records! Proof positive Weller is stalking me. I knew it!

Hey @amoeba what’s the song of the jam is in the opening please?
Paul 👌👌👌👌
Good taste.
Tame Impala from Perth, Western Australia
He seems like a lovely guy, but I must say when he started talking about 70s Ethiopian music it reminded me of the Indonesian folk music scene from Spinal Tap.
Could someone tell me the name of the band that record of heaven is in your mind?
Traffic is the band.
Paul started wearing Henley shirts when I did. The Levi's ones. He would remove the Levi's badge from the placket.
Can...anthology I bought years ago...in the UK !
what's the credits song btw?
What was Weller doing in Hollywood? Is he making a new record there?
Around the lake paul weller!
Tropicália kk mas Jorge Ben Jorge eu respeito . parabéns pela seleção weller. Amoeba faz um com Peter Frampton
What is the song played at the beginning of this? PLEASE HELP!
I was going to say the same thing!
It’s so weird that so many of my favourite artists that have done “what’s in my bag” seem to always be drawn to the jazz vinyls. Yet I dislike jazz so so much! Love so many genres of music but not jazz, I tried hard to.
Paul Weller lives eats and lives and breathes for music..
