    This was so eye-opening. I didn’t realize how many people got BBLS in the last 10 or so years until I looked it up. As a black woman, I’m told constantly by others in my family that my butt is too small. However, now that I see that for many big bottoms are just a trend- I will try to accept my body more. If I get a larger behind it will be from the gym not from surgery. I will also try my best to not compare my body to everyone I see.

How does it benefit you in any way to have a big ass? It only boosts your confidence cause men like it. Let’s stop lying. It looks like TikTok, overtaken by youngsters, decided that they know how it is better, and probably think previous generations did not do something because they are old, and "stupid". The childs of new era think they know better. Well, what a classic problem of Father's and the Sons. There is a romantic novel written by Ivan Turgenev in 19th century about it. I suggest to read . This novel shows nothing has changed. And I sometimes do think we as society in some means have to return to respecting elder people, their experiences and not to neglect everything, as it was before . Sometimes it is obvious how inmature we as society are, but those people did made some weight. As a new generation we do know how not to intervene in to youngsters live , but those kids do still need some of control and mentorship. Shouldn't be that TikTok is the one they take advices and views from.

    Facts Zoe 💯 I will say that a lot of Black women/Fems, many indigenous African women/Fems; do naturally have this “idealized bbl body”. Saartjie “Sarah” Baartman was a Black South African woman who was exhibited as a “freak show” throughout Europe during the 19th century for having a large bottom. Now we live in a time where in much of the West a large bottom is idealized, after Black women/Fems have historically been violated, attacked, ridiculed, degraded and dehumanized for having such figures naturally. It’s necessary that we keep all of that in mind when talking about this cultural shift, we all know who Kim Kardashian was inspired by.

And you’re clearly missing the point about how Black people have been historically put in literal human zoos for White people to observe and gawk at. Thanks god finally someone did this topic!! Honestly I felt lucky because I was broke when in late teens & early 20s! As some of my friends already had successful in businesses during their early time, they started to follow the different body trends too with enormous amount of money to spend on, which I didn’t have, which in returns benefits me in the long way. I love my body now as much as I realized how beauty & body trends has changed over the years . Yet I’m able to stay out while my friends had been so attached to them, paid prices for their health, pains endurance. I would say most of us (ordinary people) could only decide what’s best for ourselves during maturity age of late 20s onwards, specially money & self-validation matters. Once you know your value & what you can bring to the world, there is no beauty standards could make you feel bad just because you aren’t them! But when you re still young, your mind & your own value judgment will still be easily influenced by others groups (be it people, societies or different communities, platforms, social medias…)

    The numbers are shocking. Great video. I understand the saying of it‘s your body you can do everything with it if you want to, but NO you shouldn’t. The ultimate goal isn’t to conform to beauty standards. The goal is to embrace your unique beauty. A surgery just for the looks of it will never be as fulfilling as true confidence

    I have a natural “bbl body”. I hate it. big butt and boobs, slim stomach, thick thighs. I was sexualized since elementary because of it and i’ve always just wanted to be skinny. not for trends but for myself :/ even now, I would do anything just to be skinny but food is too good and I don’t want to become unhealthy by doing unhealthy diets and/or starving. i don’t have the motivation to exercise and even if i did, a log of it is just my genetics unfortunately. the only surgery I plan to get is a breast reduction. again, I want to be skinny for myself, not for trends bc trends are ever changing. please do not get work done on your body for any other reason than your health and how YOU want to look and feel. you are all beautiful regardless of race, ethnicity, body type etc. and ty sm zoe for helping bring awareness to this situation. the younger people in this world deserve to love themselves :)

    People say body types and shapes change but really it seems like either slim with a hourglass figure or without one, or a overall average weight period with a flat stomach will always be the trend. I guess it does make sense though cause being overweight isn't healthy for most people. But anyone can be unhealthy or healthy regardless of weight, as long as they eat right often and excersize at least a few times a week. I don't always mean extreme excersize; even walking or stretching does help. I myself need to work on this, but I do eat healthy a lot of the time. For the past two days I excersized, and tomorrow I have a lot of walking around to do; so for me it is fine if I don't do anything for the rest of the week, because I feel at least 3 times a week is good enough for me at the moment.

    • @xsweethearto
      @xsweethearto Před rokem

      But I also wanted to mention if people don't do these things, then they deserve no more hate than someone of a smaller size. Same as someone of a smaller size. It goes the same for someone who is extra skinny, who eats a lot and tries to gain weight but can't; they shouldn't be skinny shamed. Everyone deserves love no matter their size or shape. Yes it is healthy for everyone to eat better and exercise, but it doesn't mean insults or condescending comments should be thrown at someone. But I agree it is nice to encourage someone to be healthier, but in a nice way.

    for someone who had plastic surgery ( not bbl) I can promise you you dont want to have one .think that you will have 3 weeks of pain every time you have to move. Go to a therapist talk it out to see if it really is necessary for you to feel better or if you can exercise or something else. I had an amazing doctor and therapist, but still had regrets in the first weeks because of the suffering

    I really hope you mention in a later video the imperialistic and racist history of the bbl, how it is a historically black/indigenous body that was envied by white women and fetishized by white men. Black female bodies were grossly sexualized in minstrel shows and mocked. This deserves to be mentioned.

    I remember when Kim K tried to claim her butt was natural because there were no implants in her x rays. Like a month later it came out that she had fat transplants done. And the trendy ones of North America lost their minds getting a little chubby to get that fat sucked out and punt in their flat rear ends. Now they got these big behinds and tryin to get super thin.
    The jaw shaving and chin implants in Asian cultures weirds me out. I use to be able to tell Chinese from South Korean but that's gotten tricky. And it's spreading.

  • @louiseerbslisbjerg7854

    As a white women, mixed roma and danish, with what is very close to a naturel BBL I´m happy I´m getting older and more immune to these "trends". I´ve had those wide hips and a big butt my entire life, no matter the weight, my ratio was always quite notisable. I grew up in the 80´s, was a teen in the 90´s era of heroin chick. I hated my body then, would starve myself and work out like crazy. I was even banned from the sport I excelled at and was performing high level (because yes, you can be a semi-pro or pro-athlete if you find a sport that suits your particular bodytype well) because I reached such a low weight it was dangerous. Fast forward to the past 10 years and that behind has been on trend. So m,uch so that I´ve actually felt very uncomfortable on several occassions due to the comments I´ve recieved. Now the skinny is coming back and I honestly cant bother. My body will NEVER have narrow hips, small thighs or a small butt. My sceleton wont fit in there, neither will blood vessels or organs. No woman in my family has such a built, neither does my own daughter. It dos´nt mean my confidence cant suffer but I feel sorry for all those young girls and 20-something women who are struggling with this. My daughter is 4 and she looks just like me (or well, she´ll be taller because her dad is much taller than me. But I fear for her. If skinny is in ince she reaches that vulnurable stage I will definately keep a close eye and have a few talks.
