Just changed the oil on my C70.. oil was black. Got it from an old man that messed up reinstalling the points plate and had no spark and he gave up on it. Now it is my cheap transportation to and from work.

I remove the spark plug so the engine turns over without compression and has no chance of starting without oil and use turn the kick-start by hand to get the last of the oil out. It does help if the engine is warm.
If the condition of the engine/oil is unknown it might be an idea to whip off the clutch cover while the oil is drained and clean the oil pump screen filter and the centrifugal filter in the middle of the clutch. You'll need a clutch cover gasket and a clutch gasket. I rest the C90 on its left hand side when I take the clutch cover off so the automatic clutch assembly doesn't fall out as you remove the cover.
Did you go to the oil section or the motorbike section of Halfords? Motorcycle oil is in the motorcycle aisle.
Wet clutch oils will say JASO MA spec on the bottle.
I get my oil from my local Honda dealer as Castrol Power1 is cheaper there. I buy it by the 4l as I have two Cubs and a Varadero so it makes sense to buy it in larger quantities as they all run on the same oil.
Larger Asda and Tesco stores often have the 1l bottles of Power1 on offer.

Did the same just put the bike in nutral with the key off.. no chance the bike will start and you can still get the last bit out.

Can you do a video on what to look for when buying a C50, C70, C90 etc. I’d really like to get myself into a Street Cub but wouldn’t have the first idea what to look for... I haven worked on one since I was 14 & was blasting down old Cinder tracks 😂

Regular 500 mile oil changes ? The soft tuned engine with just one cylinder and two valves does not require such low mile oil changes, Just keep a check on the level as it only holds not much more than a pint, But I would say 1000 mile oil changes is fine, And I had no problems, Did over ten thousand miles without any incident, I used Castrol semi synthetic 10 / 40 w Which was recommended by a old bloke who run his motorcycle workshop for decades

Oil! Read The Owners Manual! A synthetic oil will handle the heat better then mineral oil.

    What is "car oil"????
Surely oil is all based on the correct type for your engine or possibly an upgrade.

Any basic research shows that motorcycle oil is for motorcycles. In a car it's a different type of dry clutch. A wet clutch needs the right stuff to work properly. It takes 800ml it's not expensive to change that amount.
