i feeel soooooo dumb. ive discounted smart controls bc of the replacing my instrument part. i didnt think about just saving the channel strip without a instrument. mind = blown. ty! this was my #1 complaint of smart controls and why i dont make a bunch of library presets. I really feel like that should be more intuitive from the library UI more particularly UX point of view here as it is a thing but its easy to miss. thank you so much for this video.
Great vid! I am away from the studio so can’t check at the moment, but I believe the smart controls can only be used with parameters that are exposed for automation - except things like bypass which are part of every AU. Please correct me if I am wrong.
I successfully used an old Kawai XD-40 Keyboard solely as a midi controller for years, to input notation with Finale. But since my recent switch to Logic Pro X on my MacBook Mojave, though it's seen as connected to my Motu USB Express, in Midi- Audio setup with Clockworks, I can't find a way to get Logic to see it as midi connected in my current project, since the Kawai brand is not listed to assign in control surfaces, & I don't know how to do a manual generic assignment for this towards inputting formal notation in the Logic score editor after bypassing control surfaces. There is no advice I've seen online to use with my last version of Logic that works in Mojave (10.5.1), all CZcams tutorials I've seen, either show one how to do it with listed brands in control surfaces, or just how to do basic hookups with old midi controllers, but not one that addresses my specific issue. With your expertise using Midi controllers here, I was hoping you may have a solution, otherwise I'm at my wits end, & can't afford a new midi keyboard controller at the moment, so would greatly appreciate any step-by-step advice, I just want to start composing again, thanks!
Hey MTHG, is there a way to copy the timbre of a synth in logic ? I separate the synth track from a song (wav) with Spectralayers 10 and would like LPX to analyse the track and come up with settings in the synthetisez so i get a MIDI instrument that sounds close to the wav file ? In any case thank you for your videos
I just thought of something: Let's say I add a track with the stock synth. Do I have to manually load all those Fx's in the Channel Strip or do I just go to "Presets" and it loads them on the channel for me? Gianni♥
If you load up any instrument in Logic, and then press B, it will automatically map 8 synth controls to the smart controls. Defaulting to the "Automatic Smart Controls".

This is like the "Journey To The Center of The Earth"! There's no perceivable end end to what Logic can do! Thank you Josh!♥

Excellent vid bro❤
Have you recorded any tutorials about the upcoming versions of Logic? Cordial greetings.
MTHG commented in the video before this one that no one from Apple contacted him about any updates recently. Short answer, no.
