Oh my god. This vid touches my heart. I love canines, especially Huskies and German Shepherds. It was funny seeing Luke get used to the shoes, but it worked out quickly for him.
Yes! I met this one guy last year in Florida who had bare feet while walking his dog. He said that when the tarmac got too HOT for HIS feet... then it was too hot for his dogs paws. What a sweet and caring fellow.
What a lucky boy is Luke. Can we all try to change the world so all dogs get to enjoy a wonderful life like Luke? So many many dogs throughout the world are suffering horribly. Please please do what you can to change that.

The competing sledding snow dogs in both the Ididerod, and the John Beargrease (in my area) usually do wear shoes to protect their feet in the bitter cold snows on these very long marathon sled runs. Such shoes have saved their paws and legs from frostbite, and amputations. Snow dogs are precious, and well worth it.
