hello Matt
Can you do the Bulgarian Royal family tree?
Idea for videos
1) Herzl dynasty
2) the heir to the Davidic throne (basically who will be israel
Monarchy), both claiment and the probable decedent of David (some rabbinical dynasty claim to be decedent of the exiled dynasty of David that was actually still alive and became rabbinic dynasty until killed by Seljuk so it would be interesting to who has best claim).
3) Egypt royal families and who will be their kings today
4) Iran royal families and who will be their kings today
5) Mongol dynasty and who will be their heir today
6) Tarantino and his current wife dynasty
Not sure if you'd only consider real life people, or if you'd include fictional people. If you are including fictional people, a look at Bruns Clan, from the book The Clan Of The Cave Bear by Jean M. Auel would be a fascinating watch.
Have you heard from The Rock since your research?
So, I was watching this because I am a big fan of The Rock, when the name Dembo Sickles came up. I've been working on my family genealogy for a while, and the name Dembo Sickles isn't one you hear often, but I have one in my family tree. Sure enough, it turns out that Rocky Johnson is a distant cousin, meaning I'm distantly related to Dwayne!
That’s a Prince Edward Island name that many white families, as well as black families had because of the amount of interracial marriages in that family
Omg ru the pebble 😊😊😅
@@user-my5zj9md6k I don't know. Most of the rocks are in my head. Lol 😆
Lies again? Mola Sport Blood Of Malay
Rocky Sr is partially Irish and Scots-Irish. So Dwayne has hundreds of cousins in Nova Scotia and other parts of the east coast.
This is really interesting. I love the royal family trees, but I'd like to see more family trees of "regular" ppl like this.
It shows that all of us have unique ancestry (I think it is just easier for him to do royalty and Nobel because they kept strict records of their dynasties for thousands of years while for most people it of far harder and would mostly start in last 300 years)
@@chimera9818you're acting as if knowing your ancestry from 300 years back isn't strict record😂
@@danilapolesciuk4316it is fairly short and far harder than for royalty (because you would need to find and confirm old census)
@@danilapolesciuk4316realistically for most people have strict records for last 70 years when most countries started to record their people more strictly
Anoa'i are like wrestling royality in the end
For wrestling fans, there is a lot of folklore here. The connections between the families are rich and deep indeed.
C'est la vie, mon ami.
Imagine doing a DNA test only to discover that The Rock is your half brother.
Obviously the first thing you'd need to do is start wrestling.
That is already a happen, as Rocky Johnson was known to get around. I think at last count he had five kids outside of marriage that is known about at present.
@@EyeOfTheWatcher Those were mentioned in the video.
It's obviously not a family tree, but I think a video about the line of succession of Pope's would be very interesting. Given all the anti-popes and avignon popes Im guessing it would be quite complicated
I second this...
He has done one on the Medici Family Tree which is connected to some of the Popes...
nah
His moms bloodline is deep rooted
You left out Rodney "Yokozuna" Anoa'i, He was a very popular WWE wrestler in the 90's and was Champion.
So not only is the Rock Canadian on his paternal side but his last name comes from a completely unrelated boxer his dad wanted to honor.
Also love the detail of Maui being modeled after his material grandfather.
Dwayne Johnson is also a Canadian citizen.
Not really Canadian. He comes from a Foundational Black American who fought for the British
@@sionrouge1697 Isn't that the most Canadian someone can be (at least not being a Native)? Maybe you don't remember that the thirteen colonies that formed the USA only differ from the provinces of Eastern Canada on the fact they seceeded, so many loyalist fled the 13 colonies to Canada. The differences between USA and Canada come after the fact, not before.
@@migueljoserivera9030 ummm. No.
@@sionrouge1697I am actually interested in what you feel makes someone Canadian. Not bring snarky, I am genuinely intrigued.
Maui is actually a Polynesian mythological character as he also appears in Maori legend here in NZ
"Can you smell what Useful Charts is cooking?!"
As a long time wrestling fan who is aware of how incredibly confusing the Samoan family relations get this is fascinating
I know it something small it said on the chart that rocky johnson died in 2000 when it was really 2020
Thanks for all you guys do! A family tree for the Indo-European languages (or all the languages of the world!) would be really cool to see!! Thanks again!!
Yes a language tree sound good
Could be fun seeing of all language families (indo European is largest but most talked about so it would be fun seeing for Afro asiatic also)
You can't really make a single family tree of all the languages, but maybe a collection of trees, like the ones he did with multiple dyansties in parallel, could be nice.
@@navetalyes! Like the royal tree of the Germans.
While I know nothing about the Samoan "blood relative" tradition outside of this video, I loved how you treated those with such a relation with the same respect as those who have a genetic relation, and thinking about that makes me think it would be nice if you made a future video exploring other traditions from around the world involving adopting (etc) other people who aren't genetically related as family members and how such a system might differ from our typical Western understanding of family trees and the legal/social consequences that these traditions have.
I know Japan has practiced adult adoption in cases when a master craftsman, who would typically train up and pass the family concern on to his son, wishes to instead bestow the firm to a non-blood-related apprentice.
I think has has at least once in a Roman chart
In many cultures, adoption (even of adults) is a legitimate (and not at all unusual) route to ensure the survival of "the family name" or to ensure succession goes to a competent figure (that's often already blood-related, somehow), rather than allowing a moron (resulting from too much inbreeding) to ruin it all.
Ethnic Albanians have something similar where men can make “blood brother” pacts and the members of those relationships are often held in slightly higher reverence than blood relations. My grandpa has a “blood brother” and their family has been included in everything my family does since before I was ever born
@@furlizard Adoption is fundamental to Roman succession- it was the Roman Emperor/King chart, I think.
Wrestling and UsefulCharts isn't a crossover I expected, but I welcome it! Fascinating to hear about Rocky Johnson's side of the family, I never knew anything about it. I'd love more of these!
Same here 😅. I've wanted Matt to expand his topics into more fictional families and wrestling families. And after like 3 years of waiting, this vid did not disappoint. Personally I would love to see a Bret Hart family tree (because both Matt and the Harts are Canadian lol)
Imagine taking a DNA test and finding out The Rock is your brother. Lmao
One slight correction, the Bloodline is considered a Faction, which means a group of wrestlers joined for a common cause, usually to help the leader cheat lol. The Uso’s are a tag team in the faction.
they used to be, they split up a while ago
@@NeroPiroman that was a masterful storyline, from Sami, to the Bloodline collapse, honestly their best in years. My post was really just to clarify that a group is called a faction is Wrestling.
@@Angel.Custodio it was great until summer slam, it started goint steaply downhill after that
@NeroPiroman it ran its course, but it was great while it lasted. I thought they would end it with the Rock vs Reigns match everyone is expecting for years
@@Angel.Custodio well the rock did return recently so there is a chanche
As a wrestling and history fan, this is the content I never knew I needed ....
A deep dive into the Anoai'i family warrents it's own video, it's fascinating
UsefulCharts acknowledged the Bloodline ☝️
☝️
That picture of Sharon (Tamina's mom) is actually of Nancy Argentino, the girlfriend you mentioned in the video
Yeah and he allegedly killed her
Dwayne Johnson pays so much homage to his Samoan side. I wish he would take such interest in his Black Nova Scotian heritage. I would dare say it may be more interesting as there are far fewer.
Not really, it just most media outlets promote his Samoan side. The Rock has never down played his Black Nova Scotian heritage and he has actual done things that promoted the history of his black side of the family, but outside of the local community media and some black owned media outlets it does get the same coverage of when he talk about his Samoan side. Let be honest here, the big media outlets has always had a problem covering black history because he brings up troubling aspects of USA history that they feel uncomfortable talking about.
Didn't expect usefulcharts to acknowledge the bloodline ☝
Hi Matt. I think Rocky Johnson died in 2020 and you have the death year at 2000. Overall this was a wonderful video and I enjoyed it very much!
You did it for The Rock
He did it for the people
The Bloodline isn't a tag team - it's a faction.
I think you should make bob marley's family tree as his roots and offsprings are for me intersting.
Keep up the good work my friend
Even more interesting: The tag team that Rocky Johnson & Tony Atlas defeated to become the then-WWF’s first Black champions was none other than The Wild Samoans.
Rocky Johnson and Tony Atlas could not stand each other, hence why the team was short lived. Once they got out of active wrestling, then they got along better.
The Hart wrestling family out of Calgary would be another interesting wrestling family to make an episode about - the family lineage also includes the Smiths and Neidharts, all wrestlers.
I was thinking about them as well. Not only for how big the family is, but being Canadian just like Matt for an added touch 😂
How come Emma Stone isn't on the tree? I'm sure she and the Rock are related.
😂😂😂
So if he dies who becomes the new Rock? Is it agnatic primogeniture or elected?
As someone who lives in Sackville NB, just 15 minutes from Amherst, watching this is interesting. I knew some, but not all of this. Thank you for this.
Great vid. The Hart family might be another interesting wrestling family you could cover.
As a wrestling fanatic, I know this can get way deeper. Love seeing a Useful Charts for it!
Was anybody else not expecting the thumbnail to be just a bunch of pictures of different rocks and boulders?
I'd love to see you do a "family" tree of the professional wrestling organizations (NWA, WWE, WWF, GCW, etc.). It would probably be a popular wall chart as well. I'd buy it.
That would actually be awesome. But I'm not sure if it'll get alot of views. Most people have only heard of WWE/F and maybe WCW. I've had an idea for a few years, where Matt slowly goes through wrestling royalty and even teaching/student relationships. Maybe after that, he can do the promotions.
I'm thinking of a possible future playlist that goes from most well known families, like the Harts and ends with the various companies
I would like to see a video about the Georgian Royals of the Bagrationi Dynasty or if possible african dynasties including the one in modern day Angola that resisted the portuguese colonisation efforts under one of their best known female rulers.
Aren't the Bagrationi, like, the oldest royal (imperial?) family that still exists (albeit not reigning anymore) and one of them being a possible heir to the russian imperial throne?
The Bragratids have a very long and interesting history.
Longtime wrestling fan here! Thanks a lot for explaining the Samoan blood ties! Love your channel. You're a great narrator
This was awesome. Thank you.
I'm curious about the family tree of John Adams to whom I'm a distant cousin of. In a People Profiles stream I saw on John Adams they claimed that John's ancestor, Henry Adams, and mine as well came from a place in England called Braintree, thus the name of the place where they settled in Massachusetts, but a book published about my family history line claims that Henry came from Barton-St. David in Somerset. I was hoping that if you did this family tree that maybe you could clear this fact up.
I want to see the Adams family tree as well, today it has merged with the Chase Banking family.
It merges with the John Winthrop family tree through his wife.
This made me realize how much I want a new version of your big world history chart poster with the history of Oceania!
Yay! I’ve been waiting for this one for forever!
When will you do a family tree of the Bach family (musicians)?
Aaaah. For a second there I was thinking you meant the Bach plumbing family
LOVE this chart. Been making one myself, or at least, trying to suss it all out. I'd also suggest adding Jacob Fatu's brother, Journey Fatu to the chart - he is a wrestler, as well.
Finally you do this video!
the🪨 is here.
Can’t stop the rock
I'm a new subscriber and I LOVE your channel! if you ever need an idea for a new project, I'd love to see a chart on the history of music, showing all the various genres & sub-genres and how they relate to each other.
That is a great idea
This was a pleasant surprise. I'd love to see more wrestling content... Although I don't know if there are any other wrestling dynasties that are quite so... Sprawling
I've met Dwayne several times through our mutual association with the The U of Miami Alumni Assocoation. He's HUGE but an extremely nice guy in person, and very generous with his alma mater (the U)
Omg, this is so interesting. Never knew. Impressive. Love it
Oh, boy! That was FASCINATING!!!!
The one we've all been waiting on.
My first reaction was "lol wut" but this was actually quite interesting.
Matt! I had no idea that you’re from NS! Im from NB!! I’m so happy to be supporting a fellow Maritimer’s channel! 🎉
This was way more interesting than i expected!
Fascinating! I live in Nova Scotia but am not from here.
This is really cool!
Asking again for a big family tree of various Chassidic Rebbishe dynasties! Love the vids
Nice job
What a legacy....omg uve done him a great service...
Love this
😂 😂 Goddamn that tree blew up faster than LA Knight's career 😂 😂 😂
Hmmm, fascinatingly *SHINY* his whole family is!
Now that you've done this wrestling family tree, please do the Hart family and by marriages the Smith/Billington family.
Boy, that family tree is way more extensive than I ever thought
I did a little bit of digging into this topic a few months ago and was thinking, "Won't it be cool if Useful Charts did something like this....."
I don't know if you've done it before, but the Hawaiian royal family would be interesting.
That was more interesting than I expected it to be. :)
I’d love to see you cover the Hart family, another wild family tree that includes many pro wrestlers
Wow! A family tree of superhumans
Do one for NFL coaching trees! That would be super interesting
As a huge wrestling fan, I knew most of this, but the bits about Rocky Johnson's family was interesting.
Your video is so electrifying, I can almost smell what is cooking.
High I love your series especial your royal family trees, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in doing a family tree for who would be the Emperor of Mexico
I'm going to be honest, I think Jacob Fatu deserves more recognition. He is arguably the most talented member of the Fatu family working today.
Keep these up! This is going to be interesting!
Aww man, finally i figured the Anoa'i family tree,it puzzled me for years😂 another wrestling family you might want to look into is the Hart dynasty,i reckon you are familiar with them since they are also Canadian 😆
Very interesting video! You should make a McMahon and Steve Austin family trees
Always fun.. hey.. a chart of Buddhist Schools would be super awesome if you're looking for a challenge 🙂
We waited too long for this
How much can you donate to 'The Rock' donation fund for their family trees?
Considering the popularity of Taylor Swift right now, It'd be interesting to see her family tree. Though it may be too invasive to do that as I don't think many of her relatives are famous/have a lot of notoriety like she does. Perhaps a ridiculous tree connecting other people notable in her life like exes, famous friends etc and how they connect to each other could be interesting as well without getting too personal.
Omg😮 this is amazing im sure im related thru my Virginia,sc. Lines
Very cool to know the Rock's family. I actually thought he was related to a volcano lol.
He really fell short and didn’t even mention Yokozuna! This video needs a do over!
As a kid growing up in Hawaii I saw the Rock’s dad wrestle more than a few times.
Hey Matt, is there a way you can do my tree? Sounds to me that it looks interesting. If you want to take a look
Hey Matt I took my 23&Me and got my results and it shows that I have some Ashkenazi Jewish relatives from some generations past. My other full blood sister didn’t seem to receive it in hers nor my half sister who shares the same dad as us. I know genetics aren’t all the same 50-50 we get from each parents. Just thought it was wild and wanted to share.
Interesting tree! I would love to see a Michael Jackson family tree.
DEFinitely!
Your going to see Elvis on that Family Tree
Oh yeah, since Michael married Presley’s daughter. But does anyone know if they had any children?
I would like to see Michael Jackson's family Tree-Hee
@@mcdonaldsnerd6114 Blanket is one of them
A Hart family tree would also be interesting
The Anoai family is one of many wrestling royal families and it's the most numerous
I've often been interested in Samoan people, especially those in college football. I worked with a Samoan gentleman in Southern California and became familiarized with their culture.
What’s your connection to Nova Scotia Matt? Did half my growing up there myself.
Can you do a family tree for the Radziwill family? They have many interesting connections!
Would love to see the Bouvier/Auchincloss/Gore/Radziwills
So interesting!
Now I'd like to see a family tree of the Coppola family (starting perhaps with Nicolas Cage)!
Brilliant idea. That would be awesome.
When I heard you say “Nova Scotian”, I knew you were definitely Canadian. 🤣
Do you have a chart of Ireland Kings & High Kings
This is kind of accurate. It's been confirmed by one of the Fatu’s that The Rocks grandmother is part of the Anao’i family by blood.
Can you do the Redgrave family and all their connections?
