- On April 13, powerful explosions were heard in Luhansk, temporarily occupied by the russians, followed by footage of a massive fire at the site of the hit. russia reports a missile attack on a machine-building plant by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The russian propaganda news agency TASS reported the strike was probably launched by two Storm Shadow or Taurus missiles, which is not likely.

UN can do nothing except pass resolutions and with enough support rubber-stamp some operation, equally UN disapproval is largely meaningless.
UN has no force to do anything apart from what nations are willing to provide, and they would probably do that with or without UN.
The 5 permanent members of the Security Council have veto power.
They are USA, Britain, France, China, USSR.
Chinese seat was taken over by communists which with the support of USSR displaced the original Chinese government now in Taiwan, and the UN did nothing.
USSR dissolved and seat was taken over by Russia, because they had a lot of nuclear weapons and wanted it, and the UN accepted it.
UK is the stub of the British Empire, it still is on Security Council for some reason.
France is in because British Empire wanted some more European power to offset the others.
Russia and likely China would veto any UN action in Ukraine, and it would mean little anyway..
UN is an unrepresentative swill with countries as small as 12,000 people having the same vote power one of 1,3000,000,000. Many smaller countries are in effective debt traps to larger nations and usually follow the larger nation vote depending on what funding they are willing to pay.
This does not mean it is useless. Having the UN is better than not and it provides a structure able to do many things worldwide as long as the politics do not see its operations as too much of a threat to their policies.
Ukraine should have the 5th seat on the UN Security Council, not Russia. And, really, Russia should be expelled from the UN. Both NATO and the UN were created to prevent war between Russia and Europe and to prevent another Holocaust, but Russia illegally invaded Ukraine and now we have war in Europe again.
The UN will do nothing. It is controlled by the Chinese and Russians. The UN is not a friend of the free world and democracy

It's a struggle trying to counteract Russian propaganda among my people, but it's NOTHING compared to the struggle that you and your fellow Ukrainians face. Those who don't yet know, should know exactly what russia's intentions are. Millions of us have seen/heard about them, and people everywhere deserve to have that crucial information available to them - to protect their own futures too!
It's often stated by them that they have a desire to go back to taking control over the many nations that their stalin first planned with hitler, to take. But when he turned on them and invaded them, that changed the course of their mutual plans completely... but the original plan is one they now feel they can do on their own, using those same tactics they actually did use back then in a modern war. There are millions of us around the world whose ancestors fully understood what some of those tactics were, and they were brutal and will still be brutal. I've heard many a story over the years of how it was enlist or one's loved ones cease to exist. What would anyone in any country do if that was happening to them. Mass scale hostage-taking to achieve the end goal of gradually dominating over the world.

They should be. Massive wars happen periodically, history shows us that. In modern eras we've seen two world wars, and right now the very things we put in place to protect us from that ever happening again are being taken advantage of... Call it testing, if you like, to see where the chinks in our armour are; knowing we all much prefer peace. That is why we must go all out to stop this in Ukraine, and yes, invest in Ukraine heavily to protect ourselves alongside Ukraine - we are Europe, the West, and the civilised nations, and we are many. Look at a map and see how much of a chunk of our beloved Europe Ukraine is.
That's a massive part of us!

Hi Ms. Lowe. Finding good sources for daily news on the war is important and there are a lot to chose from. Might I suggest Denys Davydov's channel and Reporting From Ukraine? Both of these offer concise daily summaries and will keep you up to date. One caveat may be in order: Denys, like Anna, is also an activist for Ukraine as well as a daily vlogger. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that; they are advocating for their people. I mention it solely for the sake of transparency.
