PENTAIR WhisperFlo VS (VST) Direct Replacement for a PENTAIR WhisperFlo Single-Speed Pump!

The Whisperflo single-speed pump has dominated the pool industry for decades, and it would only be fitting for it to get its own VS version. This is a direct drop-in replacement for a single-speed WisperFlo pump or the older IntelliFlo VS pumps.
If you like the WhisperFlo pump, you currently have and were thinking of getting a VS pump, this would be great. All you need to do is remove the old pump and drop this one in. You would have very minimal replumbing. The inlet and outlet of the WhisperFlo VS will line right up with your old WhisperFlo pump.
If you are replacing a 1.5 or 2 hp single-speed WhisperFlo, there probably is no need to go up to a 3 THP IntelliFlo3 pump. You can save a little money with this pump and with 2.6 THP it will have plenty of power for you. It can also easily be connected to the latest automated systems and comes with a Comm port for your Pentair automated systems.

Hey David...thanks for all the great pool videos. This might be a dumb question but when you say it is replacement for Pentair Intelliflo VS would this include the Intelliflo VS 011018 3HP? I was told by a pool guy to look at the Pentair 011060 or the 011056 but I can not find any of those to buy locally. Also I have screenlogic that I will need the pump to communicate with...I appreciate your advice.

It has very similar THP so you should be good with this.

Hey David, I've got a 10 year old Pentair Intelliflo VS pump. Would this unit be a drop in install for this unit? Also, I got a Betta solar skimmer this summer and it's been great. Since it is handling the skimming duties can I change my programing to just run the speed on a slower speed for the programming cycle all the time to save energy, rather than have the pump run at 3000 rpm a couple of hours to skim? And if yes about how long for a 17k gallon pool on a lower speed? Thank you for your invaluable advice and information!

This will drop right into the same footprint. The older IntelliFlo was based on the WhisperFlo. I would just use a low and medium speed. 1800 RPM for 10 hours. 2600 RPM for 5 hours.
