- A bit of optimism for my last upload of 2021, which turned out to be just about as tough a year as the previous one. I feel like people need to try harder to be nice to each other. Originally a smash global radio hit in late 1998 and through much of 1999, Get What You Give front-ran the production sound of the early '00s and became a universally-recognized pop standard that has long outlived its era. The song has a very Todd Rundgren-esque chord structure and it was co-written, produced and sung by Gregg Aiuto (Alexander), a kid from the Detroit suburbs who was already a music industry veteran with 2 previous major label recording deals under his belt by the time he signed with MCA records in L.A. in his mid-20s. Alexander reportedly played most of the instruments on the New Radicals' only album, and there was never really any band to speak of other than keyboardist-percussionist Danielle Brisboise. Alexander abruptly ended the New Radicals project in mid-1999 without a major tour, stating that he had no interest in the life of a pop star. He did, however, go on win a Grammy a few years later for Michelle Branch's The Game of Love, which he co-wrote with reknowned producer Rick Nowels (a recent Songwriters' Hall of Fame inductee who was also the co-writer of Get What You Give). Happy holidays to all, thanks for supporting my channel and wishing all you folks the best in '022. No commercial use.

Same! Did not regret checking out his cover! Adding it to one of my jam playlists so, I can get back to it from time to time.

Love this ❤
thanks for the ear time Julian! Cheers.
Amazing voice, I found you from the comment you made on avicii’s Wake me Up video and just… amazing
Brilliant 👏🏼 😊
You should attempt singing the higher notes. Even an octave higher. You dont have to go as high as the original for it to sound good, but the gaps of higher notes will complete it throughout
Very nice! You are talented.
thanks for the ear time, Mrs. Earp!
nice voice, this is great
word to you Suvan, cheers!
I just listened Desperado, & its amazing.
& But you are murdering this song. The vocal tempo is all wrong. You are rushing it where the notes are held for half& full measures & slowing it Down where it should rhymically speed up uptempo.
The song is basically a melodious rap except for the choruses.
& youarent trying for the high notes. This is a song you could switch to falsetto . drag your voice withthe piano, the rhythm of the original gives it a youthful insouciant power.
You could Nail this song! I know because i listened to other stuff.
