Just because you're more talented than the other person, doesn't mean you're going to be more successful than him. I understand both sides of the argument.
      If bad movies and bad acting is not criticised and instead praised bollywood will never improve. Most of the big budget films cast star kids and have lazy writing and directing, and poor acting - yet make a lot of money and so they're continuously made.

    • @harishsharma4063
      @harishsharma4063 Před 3 lety +4

      @@meez312 Bad movies or Good movies is actually subjective. How exactly do you define a bad film? A bad film is something that people can never like to watch. Why would I watch a film that I think is bad? Yeah that film may not click with you. You may not understand why it's working but the people who enjoy such cinema, they know what it is to them. Rajkumar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar have a choice to Not watch something they don't like. But how can they say that something they don't like should not be made at first place? No film or actor in this world ever becomes successful without any reason. Yes you may not like or click with certain things but there are millions of others who do. You cannot say that only the movies that appeal to your taste should be made. Some people like Dal Chawal and Some like Pasta. It's all about personal choices right? Also why wouldn't a producer invest his money in films that make Hundreds of Crores? No Smart Producer with a Good knowledge of Business can ever ignore such films.

    • @meez312
      @meez312 Před 3 lety +2

      @@harishsharma4063 I disagree - film making is a form of art - and art in any form can be critiqued.
      There are certain techniques that can be utilised to evoke a strong emotional response from an audience. For e.g., cinematography - camera angles can be used to establish conversational dynamics and establish dominance in relationships. Colourgrading sets the mood and tone of the story. The film is supposed to look appealing to the untrained eye. The soundtrack and composition sets the tone and it makes the film memorable. The screenplay is meant to be free of potholes, and there needs to be some form of continuity - the story needs to be told in a way where the audience feel it's quick to understand and the director should aim to retain engagement from the audience.
      If there were no such thing as good and bad films why would there be university degrees dedicated to teaching you the techniques on how to make a good film? Why would there be countless film awards worldwide? Unfortunately most of Bollywood falls into countless film making faux pas- honestly there's very little to no thought process behind all the Masala films.
      Your dal chawal vs pasta eg is a bad one. You get good comedies vs good thriller films. Its more like someone throwing a whole cup of salt in either of those and serving it to guests - Every one can tell its bad.

      That is true. Entertainment can be found in different genres and it doesn't have to be top notch production. However, I feel like there is a difference between a regular funny and entertaining movie and absolute bird shit like Coolie 2. If that movie was one among hundred good movies and people enjoyed it, then nobody would have a problem. Just like when Housefull 1 and golmaal which were light hearted comedies among movies with stronger storylines. But when such a big industry that the whole country in a way looks up to, relies completely on these brainless comedies to make profit and good movies are hard to find it becomes a problem. And that is probably why people are angrier now that ever. The quality of the entire industry is affected with these films and that has to stop.

Raj is so passionate about cinema and in a place where he won't tolerate any kind of crap film.. Both of them are right but just different... Bhumi after all this talk about great films went on to do like Pati Patini aur woh type films 🙄

      What was wrong with Pati, Patni aur woh. It's actually how u see it but the way I see it, it wasn't glorifying anything. In the second half, it's the women who were taking the wheel and revenging Kartik character. The later part whether she should forgive him or not is subjective. It's completely her choice. I didn't find anything wrong.

    What Raj and Bhoomi are saying makes complete sense and as artists they're responsible for promoting only good cinema.
    But Ayushman is also correct in saying that art is highly subjective and what does not appeal to you may appeal to many others, and considering enormous efforts have gone into it, maybe just be happy with whatever's there.
    Loved the discussion, you guys! The more the opinions, the better!

Me too for me it doesn't make any sense people just go and watch those fake actors silly movies !!
