- Rajkummar Rao, Huma Qureshi, Radhika Apte, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, and Sikandar Kher starring Monica, O My Darling is directed by Vasan Bala who uses the phrase Monica, O My Darling and the song as scaffolding for a twisted tale of lust, blackmail, murder, greed, jealousy, class conflict, and corruption. Did not like the music or the BGM or the songs. Meh
I don't think Radhika Apte is being given enough credit. Her performance in the movie is a delight and what kept me hooked till the end.
So true. She’s a legend
Yes 5kg Oscar dedo usko
Exactly. She stood out for me. Everyone else was good but Radhika was just so much better and lit the screen whenever she appeared.
I think Anupam has a problem with Radhika...she is excellent in the film ...she also said similar things about her performance in lust stories short in which she is excellent!
Radhika's character deserves a whole separate movie 😊
I didn't lik the ending of the film until you mentioned "Snakes and Ladders" and it made me think that RAJKUMMAR's character almost won but by was killed by the last snake at the number 99... so close to being free with everything he wanted... yet 1 number se reh gaya.
"Yeh ek zindagi kafi nahi hai jitna bhi ho begunah maafi nahi hai"...that's the theme of the movie I guess.
Anupama explaining the title to younger folk is like a scientist explaining quantum physics to a commerce student 😂😂😂. The younger lot probably don't even know DDLJ, so caravan is almost a billion light years away for them to comprehend 😂😂😂
😁😁
I loved the film. Period. After a long time I have seen a film with the screenplay, characters, casting, performances having balls of steel. More power to the entire creative team 👍👍
Finally... book adaptations and not remakes from the south or any other country. They are listening wohoo!!!
@@saicharanguggilam7162 Books adaption are normal done in every movie industry
@@saicharanguggilam7162 No. When you read the comment again, you would realize that Amaya had said it IS a book adaptation and that it is NOT the remake of another movie.
Still not original writing
@@apoorvavijay526 Nothing is original everything is inspired.
Vasan Bala never dissapoints......i was the only one from my friend circle who went to theaters to watch Mard ko Dard Nahi hota and absolutely loved the movie...
high five on that. "Mard ko dard nahi hota" is criminally underrated.
@@sagarsaxena6318 Rappan Rappi Rap🎼
What do you mean Radhike Apte does her best. makes it sounds like she tried her best. She was amazing like everyone else
Brilliant gripping slick flick.Vasan Bala is a genius.Writer Yogesh chandekar n Vasan Bala deserve many awards
What a cast, what a brilliant director.
I need more Vasan Bala films in the world, hopefully one day we get to watch Peddlers.
Until then, Rappan Rappi Rap on a loop playing
Just watched the movie and undoubtedly one of the best movies of 2022. Maybe the best movie of 2022. ❤️
Hey. Person you showed as Yogesh Chandekar is Hemanth Rao, he worked earlier on Andhadhun. He is also an accomplished director in Kannada.
Radhika was stupendous - best performance of the film for me!
Likes "Bates motel" which is a tribute to hitchcock s film Psycho, there s also Hotel "Prince Amar" (where these 3 men meet to talk about Monica) , which is a tribute to Vijay Anand's Jewel Thief.. also when Akansha ranjan talks to her cousin Vinny over the phone n then introduces her to Rajkumar, its a tribute to the film by the same name...'My cousin Vinny'... Lots of tributes to classics... only a die hard film lover can think, write n visualise scenes like this ..
interesting film..with catchy background music.. i liked it
I will watch it again... and once again. It's just so incredible. Hat tip to Vasan Bala.
There is a scene where Raj gives toolbox to a rich lady. What's the significance of that?
Or is it implied that that person is Radhika😂
After a long time,a movie which is brilliant, and worth watching again. The music has a very nostalgic feel to it.
How come Radhika Apte's role is underwritten? She is called the netflix darling for a reason, this is where your reviews lose credibility.
As a huge keigo higashino fan...i will watch this..he is one of the best mystery writers in the world with titles like malice/devotion of suspect x/salvation of a saint etc etc...i am curious about how an Indian film maker adapted one his works on to the big screen..
I'm curious what you think because I did not like this at all.
After a long time, I was feeling excited while watching a Netflix hind movie
True
I just watched n liked it As Always RKR talents alone is worth the few hrs ..
Vasan Bala is enough reason for me to watch this movie.. Will catch it over the weekend !!
There is something in Anupama's voice that makes everything sounds so sexy.
Loved every bit of it!
❤❤❤
Not a single mention of Sukant Goel?
Looks like someone loved the movie so much!!!! Gonna watch it
I thought it was a fun watch ! Huma was super and so was Raj !! Awesome performance by all characters! We thoroughly enjoyed it .
The music, though works well for the film, but as a standalone album, it mostly is spoof music; it feels like one is making fun of that style rather than trying to genuinely emulate it...Unlike say the music of Andaz Apna Apna which is a far more studied representation of OP Nayyar's music by Tushar Bhatia....But as I said, it works fine when heard with the film....
I would respectfully disagree. Amidst high fever and when I would not have wanted to do anything I watched this movie. I crashed out in between thanks to flu. But woke up went back and watched and found so many amazing nuances hidden everywhere. There is crazy madness in this kind of cinema. It was fully enjoyable especially seeing those gorgeous cobras. I am sure more and more people would enjoy the absurd humor and especially the weirdness this film brings to indian cinema ( funny fight between both of them and then one of them icing, the revelation of what happens to sikanders character, and so many more). It was so joyful to watch so many good ones in one screen. Especially the tear filled cameo of abhimanyuand irritated cameo of Radhika Madan. Radhika's character was of course in the end tapered off weirdly but she has such an amazing role. Mostly female cops are shown as virtues of justice or Hitler reincarnate. She is little messed up relaxed cop and her exchanges with Rao are amazing. Tamang character ( artist name not known), and the patriarch was excellent.
I loved the film. I actually found similarities with Johny Gaddar and Parasite in a strange way. The music is overwhelming. I enjoyed every bit.
With all due respect to Anupama, I don't think this review does justice to the brilliantness of the movie. If you haven't yet watched it, go for it! It's a gripping story.
6:27 it gets to a point where anything seems possible. Exactly. That's from where the film put me off.
Andhadhun ( no. 1 ) , johny gaddar ( no 2 ) and monica ( no 3 ) is the rating. Rating is based on the plot and story. No 2 actors are compareable superb.
I think the photo used for yogesh chandekar (at 1:23) is of the kannada movie director Hemanth Rao 😃
P.S: Hemanth had worked with Sriram on Andadun during the initial inseption of the the film.
With due respect, at 1:24 you've a wrong picture of Yogesh Chandekar, the writer, dialogue & screenplay behind this masterpiece (one featured here is some random dude, your research team needs work harder & sharper). Please have this corrected 🙏. Thank you.
Madam, in your interaction with stars and director of this movie recently, we almost understood what the film is all about.
This review is just an extension of the same.
Infact Madam, I was waiting for your review of Unnchai.. Rajashree production film..
After long I am watching you giving a great review.. Should watch it soon
Very good movie 🍿🍿🍿 i enjoyed
Not even a one sentence for wonderful sukant goel !! That's not fair ! His eyes did half of menacing act
Until 6:09 my mind was waiting for Anupama’s classic “But” to come in 😅
The movie is heavily inspired from the korean movie A HARD DAY 2014
Brilliant Movie!
It's a quirky, dark , wicked humour, stylised noir, gets a bit warped in the end, good attention to detail,( Nasir Husaain Van),
edits needed - about 30mins, could've ended on a much higher note, overall enjoyed the vibe.
"Salems se khana mangwaya hai ..u love salem's"....Vasan i love everything everything that u do man....u rock...u killed it
AGAIN
Actually a Bollywood movie after ages...thanks for the trip mate..and achnit #jaipancham
And the hat tip to Shriram sir.. turning johhny gaddar on its head...
Fun fact: Huma's father owns a restaurant chain in Delhi called Salem's. Source: Saqib Salem, Huma's brother was my classmate
Haven’t enjoyed a Hindi movie quite so much in a hot minute. I’ve been listening to the soundtrack on repeat since I watched the film. Cannot recommend it highly enough.
Very much enjoyed Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota and looking forward to this one too. Cool review.
Hope you enjoy it!
Don’t criticise just for the sack of being critics😂 The movie is fully engaging with brilliant story telling and acting. Both Raj Kumar Rao and Huma played their character brilliantly but for me best was Radhika Apte❤
Monica did great acting
Beautiful technical review
Best hindi movie of the year.
Dear team, you have used photo of Hemanth Rao instead of Yogesh Chandekar; I believe this mistake happened as they are co-writers of Andhadun !
Yogesh chandekar photo shown is incorrect
Photo is of Hemanth M Rao of KFI
The sound design, the acting, that action scene between the female and male lead 💯
Overall it was such a joy to watch, regarding the absurd part you might remember there comes a music track which talks about how everything is fiction. I personally enjoyed even the cobras
Also kudos to the editor and DOP. The treatment was top notch
the best of Netflix film till date
Huma Qureshi was 🔥
What's the point of a movie review if you're not even providing your recommendation and final verdict?
Came for a review here, but got a rhetoric lecture on the movie spoken using unnecessary complex english and useless comparisons with other movies.
I'm lucky I didn't watch review before watching the movie. So much plot is revealed in this review! Suggest to leave out story plots and just focus on performance.
enjoyed the movie a lot. radhika was superb
Hemanth Rao photo is used for Yogesh Chandekar. Please correct 😊
@6.07- I'm pretty sure that's not Yogesh. That's Hemanth Rao
I was searching for this comment
Thanks for confirming😉
The movie was hilarious!
Please watch DAMaN movie
The background score in the first murder scene is of the violins heaving during the shower murder scene from Psycho
Background music was v apt
One line review of Monica OMD
If you loved Johnny Gaddar ( I did ) then you 're gonna love MOMD more than Putin loves Kherson
Coincidence that Shriram Raghavan was going to direct MOMD ?
So who killed
Monica I didn’t understand can someone explain
Raj kumar rao's father in law had Naidu in his pocket. Tamang killed monica for the board seat because the father in law had promised him that for killing her. Then he had naidu kill Tamang and declare it suicide.
@@aditi3293 who is Naidu
@@Honeymagmangospoof radhika apte
Was Gaurav from Angola too? Because in the end, Raj Kumar Rai goes to Gaurav's house in Angola?
yes he was from angola, remember in the first scene he says saath mai school jaate the which implies that he was also from angola
I cringed through this film.. It's a factory made Netflix film. Adaptation, over-stylized, derivative, uninspired, poor writing. I don't fall for this kind of stuff. It's your standard hijinks, "what do we do with the body" film. The setting and backstory barely matters. I was surprised at the pivot this movie took from the first act, which goes to show that the film only cares and heavily depends on the crutch that is the silly suspense plot.
I got to live to see you like a movie fully. Amazed that you managed to find something that doesn’t work 😂I have watched the movie 3 time by now. Loved and enjoyed.
Kyu 1 baar mein samajhme nahi aayi ?
The audio is at times inaudible due to very loud background music! Why pick tunes from the ketchup number?
Ma'am you missed the "tip of the hat" to Goldie's Jewel Thief....the Hotel Prince Amar....
Nothing can match the craziness and creepiness of Andhadhund
Please Review Marathi Movie ‘ Godavari ’ ❤️✨
Don't watch this review to the end if you feel you wanna see the movie. It gets very spoilery and I wish I'd stopped earlier. :(
Loved the movie. Wish there was more to radhika aptes characters writing. She was really good though. Rajkumar stole the show
FC editors, yaar, come on, guys! You have used Hemanth M Rao's picture instead of Yogesh's. Please use the correct image or do not use it in the first place.

It is like Another Kantara film
It's rating 9.8 in IMDB please check ✔it out
You have shown Photo of Hemant Rao who was Co-writer in Andhadhund, He is not yogesh Chandekar and Hemant has nothing to do with this film
the movie is in Hindi and your review is in English WTF of this English-speaking people don't need your review as well as your Hindi movie. there is only one reviewer for hindi movies and that is great krk #KRK
I found its resemblence with Andhadhund and Ludo..the flow movie was running is excatly the same..there was no pause and pace was so fast that u have to catch it
ok ok movie . didnt do justice to the book . but neither did the japanese movie had done so !!!
Movie ending is terrific!!! Amazing movie!!!
Convoluted.
Film acchi lagi.
Brilliant movie. Had it been a south indian movie, the reviewers would be falling in director's feet. The movie doesn't have a weak second half. It's equally good. The problem with Hindi movie reviewers is that they evaluate good movies too harshly. And then later on ask the questions that why good movies fail. Good movies fail, because reviewers don't support them. Just look at south indian reviewers. They give 5 stars to even the most pathetic of the movies.
Jonny gardar reference is hilarious 😂
The next andhadhun❤
Please review Odia movie Daman.. We want your support mam..
😂🤣
release time
Average movie, abrupt ending, nothing much in story
The movie was quite predictable and as a result there was hardly any suspense.
Huma Qureshi and Rajkumar Rao were 👌👌👌👌
Radhika Apte was quite stupid as a Police officer. Her bumbling mannerisms may have been designed to look oversmart but it really backfires.
Overall the movie fails to make an impact.
Musical score & background score was nice "Ye Ek Zindagi" , "Farsh Pe Khade" and "Bye Bye Adios" stand out.
If the Film was good enough they would have made it for a theatre release rather than Netflix... OTT are the new dumping ground for mediocre content
Brilliant
Abhimanyu Dasani ka suspense cameo he...
I think part 2 ayega
Loved the movie

You are a good reviewer but I disagree with you as the movie is awesome
I am wary of the wannabe quirkiness in movies like this. MKDNH was a letdown after an extraordinary trailer even though some of the usual suspects went gaga over it as the heroine bought a morning after pill 🤣.
Update: I finally saw MOMD and it was great fun and a massive improvement from MKDNH. Vasan Bala has matched if not outdone Sriram Raghavan with this.
Arre bolna kya chahate ho
In one word : Bakwaas.
