Yes, yes they did. I think my favorite instance of this was when Vegeta was fighting Frieza and the narrator goes on about "Can Vegeta really defeat Frieza or will Frieza have the upperhand, FIND OUT ON THE NEXT EPISODE OF DRAGON BALL Z!" *cut to title card "Vegeta Dies"*
and later in the same saga "Did Goku's spirit bomb really finish Frieza off once and for all, or is Namek free from Frieza's reign!" *shows title card "Frieza's Trump Card"*
In Funimation's defense, the Japanese Title Cards weren't much better at hiding spoilers and were just the same phrases but in long ass sentences that sound awkward when directly translated to english
Or the one at the end of the Frieza Saga: "Can Goku defeat the evil Frieza once and for all or will he be destroyed alongside Namek, FIND OUT IN THE NEXT EPISODE OF DBZ!" title card "Frieza Defeated!"

Yeah, the Japanese titles are god awful. They were fine for Dragon Ball, but things got out of hand for DBZ.
The Funi titles just seem like they were thought up by some unpaid, overworked intern on the spot. That said, the titles they used for when they did the Ocean dub were better, especially for the films.

Through it's use of multiple perspectives and stories that intersect. This was harkened back to in future episodes, more notably Episode 266 'Trilogy of Error'. Truely ahead of its time.

The most tense arc in anime history. Side Note: This battle's run time went over 3 hours. The extra footage was added in the blue ray release. Yet despite the run time they managed not to go over budget and still kept the animation crisp. You gotta love the shit from the 90s vastly superior in terms of story despite the cost being low.

Well, FUNi's gotten better comparing their now DBZ Kai/Super to DBZ before.
Maybe, but Kai is not the Simpsons we grew up with.
In all seriousness, watching the Buu saga again on Toonami has been a trip down memory lane, and it's just as great as I remember it. It's amazing how once you start to notice the touch up's and improvements, though as subtle as they are, how much better it makes it. It's not longer strictly limited animation as with DBZ post Frieza saga, rather we continually see introductions of new animations, and they've really hammered down on the repeating of frames, and stills. Even the mouth movement's better. While Goku's SSJ3 Transformation in the original was iconic, I don't remember it taking that long when I rewatched it, and genuinely thought Kai's length was the same as the original, so, in my opinion, that one's a bit of an improvement.
What I really hope for, is a Blu-Ray release of the whole of Kai, with a remastered Falconer soundtrack, but HOPEFULLY, not overdone, like it was in the original, if at all possible, a mix of both the original Japanese soundtrack, and Falconer's. I'd be in heaven then.

Jesus Christ, you nailed the early Ocean/Funimation dub perfectly here. My only criticism is that the voice actors sound more like Sean Schemmel and Chris Sabat (the present voices of Goku and Vegeta) rather than the old voices during the Ocean dub.
So many great details in this video, but I really appreciate that the next-episode preview literally is of the episode following 22 Short Films About Springfield - the episode the steamed hams skit takes place in.
