  • Suspension Part 5 of this 8 video series - What settings did we end up with on the Bitubo Race Suspension on this bike, the 2015/2016 BMW S1000RR, the million dollar question.
    Well before you take a look, remember that these are my settings for my bike and they may not suit you. If you have a similar bike and the same Bitubo suspension components, then this might be a reasonable starting point. And one final thing, always seek advice from the experts like I did.
    That said, these are the final street settings I settled on that covers geometry as well as damping and preload.
    TYRES
    Front 120/70 x17
    Rear 200/60 x17
    FORK GEOMETRY
    3mm higher than standard (2 rings visible = front end lower)
    FRONT PRELOAD
    4 turns in from full out
    Static SAG = 28mm
    Rider SAG = 38mm
    FRONT DAMPING
    Compression = 12 clicks out
    Rebound = 10 clicks out
    REAR SHOCK GEOMETRY
    2mm shorter than standard
    REAR PRELOAD
    5 turns in from full out
    Static SAG = 16mm
    Rider SAG = 30mm
    REAR DAMPING
    Low Speed Compression = 14 clicks out
    Hi Speed Compression = 18 clicks out
    Low Speed Rebound = 10 clicks out
    Hi Speed Rebound = 10 clicks in
