Opera Le Grand Macabre předního reprezentanta hudební avantgardy 20. století György Ligetiho je mimořádně bizarní apokalyptická vize zániku groteskně šíleného světa, která naprosto vymyká běžným očekáváním spojeným s návštěvou operního představení. Pod taktovkou Jiřího Rožně se v hlavních rolích představili Marcus Jupither, Thor Inge Falch, David DQ Lee, Eir Inderhaug, Viktorija Korosunova, Ivo Hrachovec, Arnheiður Eiríksdóttir, Magdaléna Hebousse a další.
Česká premiéra proběhla 14. června 2024 ve Státní opeře v rámci festivalu Opera Nova.

The opera Le Grand Macabre by György Ligeti, a leading representative of the 20th century musical avant-garde, presents an extremely bizarre apocalyptic vision of the demise of a world gone mad, which completely defies the usual expectations associated with attending an opera performance. Under the baton of Jiří Rožeň, the main roles were played by Marcus Jupither, Thor Inge Falch, David DQ Lee, Eir Inderhaug, Victoria Khoroshunova, Ivo Hrachovec, Arnheiður Eiríksdóttir, Magdaléna Hebousse and others.
The Czech premiere took place on 14 June 2024 at the State Opera as part of the Opera Nova Festival.
