  • Biblical truth in the wildly popular Netflix series 'Stranger Things?' Michael Heiser says it's not only there, there's a LOT of it. Dr. Michael S. Heiser is a biblical scholar, author, blogger, and podcaster. He’s written numerous best-selling books, including 'The Unseen Realm', 'Supernatural', and 'The Bible Unfiltered'. Michael also serves as the Executive Director of the School of Theology at Celebration Church.

It is actually very common for film makers to include ideas that they get from ancient/spiritual writings. Some of the commenters are acting as if this has never happened before and they are freaking out.

Oh good grief. Some of you guys need to learn to listen. Most, if not all of your attacks here are in no way legitimate. You don't even respond to what he actually says. You know what you are against and you just project that on Heiser.

@@kerryherring563 mostly my point is to the people who work for companies like Disney, Marvel, Netflix etc... If they are Christians and they work for these companies they should quit and not help these companies push this garbage on people...I used to work for big companies like this as an professional artist for years...I left because I didn't want to help fund the beast... I wouldn't tell anyone to watch Netflix either....

@@matthewroach3195 You support companies all the time who have immoral ethics. Unless you live TOTALLY off the grid and never buy ANY product, then you support " the beast" in some form or another. After all, you're on CZcams, which is owned by Google. You funded the beast just by being on this site. We're all sinners, and we shouldn't worry about stuff like that. There's freedom in Christ.

@@matthewroach3195 Joshua worked for the Pharoah, and Daniel for Babylon. I guess they should have quit. Of course, they would have been going against God's will if they took your advice. God places believers in companies like this sometimes to be witnesses. As long as they don't have to directly deny their faith, then they should keep their jobs and change the company from within.

We can't make the excuse that we should look at worldly things in order to relate to the wicked world. The world is wicked. Plain and simple. We love them, and have a duty to win souls for our Lord who died to save us and them, but we don't compromise the Gospel in order to do that. And it's not trying to earn brown points with God if we refuse to look at wicked things. It's love for God. We are to hate sin. The first words Jesus taught were to repent because the kingdom is at hand. Paul never compromised the Gospel and used worldly things to relate to his Gentile audience. He spoke the pure powerful Gospel, and he lived a clean life. He marched into pagan Rome and told them that the pantheon of pagan gods that they worshipped were false, and death was in their future if they didn't seek the one true God. They stoned him. The Bible clearly says that we are to put no wicked thing before our eyes. It also says take no part in the works of darkness but expose them. We aren't to take any part in evil. Not even to relate to the world. We all have our testimony of being in the world and being part of it before Christ called us and saved us. That is more than enough to relate, and I know from literally hundreds of times sharing my testimony in order to show the goodness of God and his Gospel. God is enough, and his Word never returns void! I love you all. Be blessed!
