There's a whole bunch of people in the world who don't know how automatic doors work 1: There will be a switch for the sensor and it's probably right by the door 2: One door will bolt top and bottom into the doorframe, the second door will either bolt to the doorframe as well, or bolt to the first door requiring a second key You need to turn off the sensor first, otherwise the door will open when you go to use the manual locks. Then you need to stand between the doors to operate the bolts. The doors aren't locked until you've operated all of the locks. It's not like locking your front door where you quickly turn a handle. All of this puts you next to the crazy guy, and in the line of fire, for a good 20 seconds at least.

Our rising population of homeless suffering from mental health issues finally discovered you can purchase a machete at walmart for $12 in the camping section without asking for employee to unlock anything. So far the Wal-Mart here has locked up the tents, tarps, flashlights, batteries, pocket knives, night vision, sling-shots, robot vacuums, make-up, earphones, cameras, computers, video games, remote control vehicles, paint pens, watches, stereo equipment, shaving razors, and some OTC medicine..... however they have yet to lock up the machetes or kitchen cutlery. But I'm certain it'll be locked up soon.
