Watch the series first and talk later. Zenitsu fought for Nezuko and literally saved nezuko in multiple occasions was loyal to her brother Tanjiro and learned to be more respectful was used and was a simp because he was a orphan and never had learned the basics of how to socialise with people.

Zentisu is unbearable that it makes no sense why the other main characters like him. He's obnoxious, has violent outbursts over the smallest things, and most importantly, he is a massive PERVERT. His first major introduction is him harassing a girl so badly that Tanjiro had to physically peel him off, then he harassed Nezuko, and then all of the girls at the Butterfly mansion. The story just treats this disgusting behavior as normal or even funny. I personally gave up on Zentisu during the Entertainment District, when he had the gall to chastising Daki for mistreating her staff, and said that you should not inflict pain onto others. (Which is true, but Zentisu has NO place to talk about respect for others.) As if he's not the same guy who literally physically assaults his friends over the smallest things, even tells them to kill themselves, harasses women, and overall acts completely abusive towards others. He doesn't even follow his own advice.
Mofo, did you even watch the anime or the manga???? If you did, then you would be aware that he was orphaned and doesn't learn about basic social etiquette. So it makes sense as to why he acts the way he does around Nezuko as his love at first sight is what triggers his unconditional affection towards her from the beginning of when they met. His character is literally the embodiment of how not learning about basic social or emotional etiquette lends towards being a chaotic and an unthoughtful personality, which is the sole reason why he acts the way he does to Nezuko and his friends.
Also, his chastising towards Daki wasn't even Zenitzu's primary conscious but rather, his awakened conscious to which it is ultimately his alter ego. This argument that you make that he has no right to call out Daki's abuse to her staff member because he is abusive himself (even though he was RAISED DIFFERENTLY) becomes null and void.
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you were unable to comprehend these crucial facts or you were uneducated during English class. I hope I've helped though :)
@@joshuasimmons5374 Dude a lot of the characters in the story are orphans and still behave better than he does. Legit the only character I would apply that excuse to is Ino for the sheer fact that the dude had NO proper human interaction from a young age. Especially since Zen had interaction with humans since he likely lived with people before he was kicked out (he must of been loved at some point) and he had a father figure after the fact anyway.

The only time I respect Zenitsu when he faced his traitorous former senior disciple in a revenge duel to the death. He acted more mature when he's genuinely serious of killing the bastard who became the cause of death of his loving mentor. He didn't hold back and he faced his adversary with pure killing intent and pity due to his adversary was his senior disciple.
Yeah but even after all that development we got the old zenitsu back, and just continues to call Nezuko his “wife”

And not to mention the fact that zenitsu was an orphan from the start and had no family and no relationships of his own.Which is why he’s so clingy around his friends and is presented as a coward.Hell, even when zenitsu clinged on to the random girl,he did not do so with the intention of harrasment,but with the intention of having somebody not leave him in his life,(which has happend ever since he was born.)And when he did finally meet a person who showed him love,(his sensei). He was snatched away as kaigaku became a demon which made his sensei to commit suicide.The only semblance of a friendship zenitsu had up until the point he met Tanjiro and inosuke was with kaigaku,who insulted and badmouthed him on the daily simply because his sensei saw potential in him.And plus I th8nk zenitsu is meant to annoy/piss off the viewer,because it sets up his backstory and explains how every person who he was with left him because he came off annoying or whiny,which correlates to the viewer hating zenitsu.But once the viewer learns of his backstory and how he was an orphan and how he had no one to care for him,it sheds light on his behavior and explains why he is the way he is.

Demon slayer is kinda bad thats the reason. Most of the main cast like zenitsu , inosuke will stay the same way. I read the manga way before. And then there is nezuko who absolutely doesn't do anything . I hope people give chance to hell's paradise like the give to demon slayer. I legit read the whole manga for zenitsu and inosuke hoping they get development. And got slapped in the face by the last chapters.

I thought zenitsu would undergo development and become exactly like tengen cuz tengen's breathing style is a derivative of thunder style. I wanted nezuko and genya to end up with together cuz both of em lost their family and they both have demon powers. And if they end up together tanjiro and sanemi literally get there family back in a sense. This manga is getting carried by ufoatable a lot. Zenitsu had every potential to be the best character. He stays the same way till the very end. Similar to why i like bakugo is that he is a faulty character who has lots of issues but undergoes character development. So i thought zenitsu would undergo the same thing. All my hopes are gone. Now the only version of Zenitsu i like is my own head canon version of zenitsu where he surpasses tengen and has like idk 3 to 5 wives like tengen lmao. Agreed. It is sad because I like cowardly characters in horror genres like this, but man, did the author drop the ball with him. Believe it or not, Zentisu is actually the worst in the manga because he doesn't really improve at all. If anything, he just regresses into a constant whiner, screaming and whining about the smallest thing. For some reason, the manga tries to depict this melodramatic behavior as endearing and normal.
@@eppie2031 Maybe that's because this show is catered to the Japanese culture??. You do realise that in the Taisho era that the age of consent was 13 in Japan (and still was until a year ago)? Damn, it's almost like the author made a historical accurate depiction of how their culture functioned when it comes to a child (a 16 year old) falls in love with another child (Nezuko, a 14 year old). But hey, you gotta centre everything around Western culture, because that's the way you like it :).

What I find funny is the arguments of people trying to defend this worst anime character of all times. Some say he gets better over time because he gets stronger, yet him being strong doesn`t change his character at all and doesn`t make him any less annoying. Unbearably annoying vs unbearably annoying but good in fights?Some say he isn`t so annoying in the manga but yeah, obviously because you at least don`t have to hear his annoying cries half the show. It is a character that is the definition of cringe and annoyance and the only time his fans point out where he is cool, are scenes where he isn`t conscious, so pretty much only moments we don`t have to bear with his personality...great arguments. If I were born in that world and be part of Zenitsus team, I would let myself get eaten by a demon just to end the suffering of being near him.

Mee too, the first episode the Mc met him and he was crying and whining an being a creep, I googled if that character is a returning one, saw he is and immediately dropped the show. And I`m so glad I did. That 20minutes of that one episode was physical pain, like I wanted to punch through my monitor to make it stop. Never ever had that kind of feeling for any character in any movie or series I have ever watched. There is disliking or hating a character and then there is Zenitsu.

"It's 2023, that shit is not cool", "we need to stop giving characters, this character trait". ONE, this show is set in the Taisho era, which is between 1912-1926 NOT 2023, so idk where you get the idea that you can't have a character trait that was not legally ostracized within the timeline it was set. But i guess that's because of the fact you fall victim of the western ideology that everything that implicates towards those ideas are against your construded tastes. IT'S A JAPANESE SHOW, AND THEIR CULTURE HAS DIFFERENT TASTES. TWO. Why is it a problem of giving characters these traits? He was ORPHANED, so it completely makes sense as to why he acts the way he does to others around him, so why do you have to undermine the author for giving him a trait that ties logically to his backstory? And going back to the fact that it's 2023 and that no character should have a trait that compromises ethical values, so does that mean we should target EVERY single TV show, anime and movie that has at least one character with those traits?? WHERE IS THE FUN IN THAT!? That's like saying we should critisise The Boys director for making Homelander psychotic, perverted, a womanizer and sadistic and that he should omit those traits entirely. Would that make his character better? NOOOOO. In fact, Inouske inhibited a more wildlike personality because he didn't grow up with any humans. To me, that's worse if it was IRL (PS, Inouske is actually my favourite character in DS)

1. He's a big crybaby. All he does throughout the plot is whine about a lot of things that are happening to him, something scary, or things that don't always get his way.
2. He's a coward. The guy is the biggest coward in the story who makes other cowards braver than him. He's supposed to be a Demon Slayer, yet he would rather be a crybaby coward and harass women. Plus, he's a disgrace to the Demon Slayers for being a coward.
3. He's a complete simp, and he will sexually harass any woman. The guy doesn't take no for an answer from any woman who doesn't want to be with an annoying obsessive crybaby pervert. He will be begging and crying so much that he thinks they will feel sorry for him so they can be with him, or he chase after any woman, no matter the woman's age or if they are a demon. He will not stop until he has a woman in his life. Honestly, no woman in his world or any reality would ever want to be with him. He makes Ataru Moroboshi from Urusei Yatsura. Decent to have a better chance of ending up with any woman (I know he ends up with Lum, but this is just an opinion that he's another character that no woman in his world or any reality would ever want to be with him if it weren't for Lum who is the only person who wants to be with him).
4. His origin story sucks. The guy is such a simp that he went broke. So, he was forced to become a Demon Slayer even though he didn't want to be one, and he would rather be some annoying crybaby pervert and "trying" to get a woman.
I mean, the plot of this story is about a young boy in the Taishō era. That has monsters based on the Yokai in Japanese mythology, his sister has turned into a demon, and he has to go on an adventure to slay every demon in Japan to stop Muzan Kibutsuji from trying to become the most powerful demon in the world and to gain control over all of humanity. Also, his only goal is to change his sister back to a human. The only problem I have is that he has to put up with two idiots. One of them is a battle idiot. Who is obsessed with fighting anyone and training himself to be stronger than everyone else, and the other is an annoying crybaby pervert who doesn't want to fight at all and prefers harassing women so he can get a girlfriend.
With all these awful qualities he has in the story, the only thing that's good about him is when he passes out to become a powerful swordsman. I haven't read the manga yet, but does he ever improve and stop acting what he is in the story?

Honestly I have no idea what the writer was thinking. In a shonen anime, the supporting main characters to the protag are debatably the most important characters in the entire show. For the thing is, anime is written in a format where it's okay to have dull and lame MCS, for most animes are meant to be self inserts. But what you must never fail at, is his supporting roster.
Zen and even Ino are just so bloody boring and utterly useless through out the show, I really can't stand them at all, and they frankly ruined the entire anime for me. It's a shame for everyone else is pretty cool. I just don't get why the besties, his version of brock and misty have to be unlikeable brats.

They have very differing taste and most of the Japanese audience will indeed find the sense of humour amusing from Zenitsu's character contrary to you guys. I absolutely love how Zenitsu's portrayed in this show and while it is understandable you dislike him for you given reasons, keep in mind that there are people who do in fact enjoy this sense of humour, and you opinion differs from that fact.

With mugen train he cries during his dream because he thought it was real, which again I think alot of people get emotional when they see a loved one they had that passed in a dream. Tanjiro is kind to others yes but he knows he has to kill the demons lowermoons upper and even basic, he doesn't try to change them all he does is pray for them. So no I think tanjiro is a decent main protagonist he's not too nice and not too weak he even gets annoyed with zenitsu at times, also he headbutted sanemi for stabbing nezuko. So i dont understand why you think he's bad and wasted potential. You also said you didn't like deku because he's never in the wrong but tanjiro was and was held accountable with the hashira introduction the hashira's got mad at him and explained what he was doing was illegal but was bailed out by urokodaki and nezuko proved herself. But if nezuko where to eat a human he would have to gut himself so that's something he has to be concerned about so he isn't totally in the clear with the demon slayer courp.
