Instead of simply removing the empty space in-between objectives on hourglass dice took the lazy route and deleted half the map making a large chunk of it out of bounds. Now here they are repackaging that removed portion as a new map and something we're supposed to be excited for. Too funny
extremely large maps was a big selling point back in the announcement, it is crazy how much they backtracked from that

They did remove space between objectives but the Stadium had no place in the map lol
@Honey_Katz No lol the distance between the objectives they left post patch is exactly the same as when the game released. They just partitioned off a section of map

Im pretty disappointed with stadium tbh. I do agree with Jack that it was the best part of hourglass, but when they took it away and then announced it'd be its own map, I was hoping it was going to be a re-imagining.
Make the stadium whole and not destroyed, load up cover in the center and make that the centeral flag to fight over, then have fighting in the surrounding halls over other flags as well. Duke it out in the courtyards outside of the stadium too. Make it one of those battlefield classic infrantry only slugfest maps, but at the same time show off how big and expansive battlefield can be. Make it a 128 player map. Yes it can both be a classic slugfest and support that many players at a time if they designed the map right and a stadium would be the perfect setting to showcase that.
Now THAT in my opinion would be sending bf2042 off on a high note and would signal to us that DICE still knows how to make a proper battlefield experience and would give some confidence going into the next game.
Sadly instead it looks like they just took the old stadium, didnt really make any changes and called it a "new map" such wasted potential 😮💨

I was thinking they were going to redesign this section of the map, adding more places inside of the stadium, and a parking garage, removing some of the sand and doing something with the second half.

@@weirderdolphin9902 Yep, times have definitely changed. I just want a fun battlefield game that’s complete on launch. 2042 at this point in time isn’t too bad of a game in my opinion. I play it here and there and still have fun.

Bro that's stealing. It was advertised in trailers, then removed, now they call it new. Just imagine you pay for a nice car but they take a few years before giving you the proper features and upgrades you originally got it for, then they act like their being nice and it's new. That's thievery

Well, EA messed it up too. At least it was somewhat saved. 2042 couldn't be saved.
We saw it coming though, as many veteran Frostbite developers jumped ship while BF5 was developed.
Looks like another Paik - smoke - shotgun disaster. But also a fun one.
Basically what Metro was and everyone has a hardon for that map

I want to see this stadium on an actual MASSIVE MAP with DESTRUCTION full scale style but you’d run out of ammo before being able to destroy everything…
Bring the tornadoes back with FULL SCALE DESTRUCTION on next gen ONLY with 300 players in a war game scenario where everyone has 1-3 lives but like br can be bought back or like battlefield revived.
Remember guys no preorder no matter how good the trailer is no matter if they remaster one of our favorite BF. No matter if the game play looks good. We hold the line.

I can't believe that they picked the cross section of the Stadium area they did and not just, the entire Stadium and the garden area out front.
The other half of the stadium doesn’t exist because it’s buried in the sand, under that sand there is no geometry, they would have to create an entire new structure, and that was not possible in the limited time EA gave them

I've already tested the map, it's not bad on conquest. But deathmatch is having problems because of the spawns, you can be killed from behind, as soon as you appear in the match. I played on Xbox One.

After bf3,4, and 1, i cannot believe they made this game. I wonder if they feel any shame? Jack should interview some of the developers about the state of this game.
3:50 - to push back the enemy, must fight in unfavourable conditions... enemies could appear from anywhere (almost like Wack-a-mole): you only know where they'll be when they make themselves seen; they'll only make themselves seen to kill you. But it's the same for you.
- Teammates -will- might provide cover, but only if you can convince them... (...to bare the cost? [maybe?]) --- have to figure out a way to equally reward and punish the risk. (make it a 'gamble of the risks + maybes' instead of a 'gamble of the risks' alone. (i.e. encourage players to think ahead ...and adjust accordingly)(... perhaps even making players act selfishly by exploiting the vulnerabilities of teammates to their own advantage)
-Developing a system that prioritises communication would be nice. Finding a way/ways for players to communicate across a heavily populated and massive map...
