@@DDOD11 u mean for the grey part? So that it would have been thinner? Yeah i don't think that would have made it anymore realistic personally cause real crystals are bumpy and some of them have a like thicker outerlayer

You should totally do moldy food! A basket of strawberries with mold on them, a half eaten moldy sandwich, or anything food related that always ends up getting moldy way too fast!
I used to make realistic cakes (especially food), and even made a Kleenex box for my therapist friend who got a new job.
I made a super cool hanging handbag cake for my aunt’s birthday that I learned from the waybeyondcakes channel. I handed it to her and once she realized how heavy it was she screamed “it’s a cake!”. I’ve done a bunch of different things with zero training, but I did pretty well.
I have Rheumatoid Arthritis now so my hands aren’t playing nice. What Ching your amazing cakes helps me learn more, and it’s great motivation to get better and make this my career!

FYI, rock candy isn’t crystal-“like,” it IS crystals. Sugar crystals. You can grow them in water easily.

@ crystals are formed when a liquid solidifies in a particular pattern, all you need to do to create Sugar Crystals is Boil Water, move it off the heat and then add Sugar until no More Sugar can dissolve, then just pour it into a clean container, and add in a stick or something for the Sugar to Crystalize on, and eventually as the Water cools it'll be able to hold less sugar so the sugar will Crystalize onto the Stick

Rock candy is real crystals, it's just a different molecule than amethyst.

I desperately need this cake in my life now! Amethyst is my favourite crystal (and purple my favourite colour) and this cake looks so realistic that I'd be somewhat sad to eat it, but I would love to have a cake like this! Heck, I could even prank my friends by randomly cutting into what they think is a geode and make them go "wtf?!" for a second before they realise it's a cake loool XD
