This is the first song I had heard by this guys on a station down in Ft Worth, love this band!

I don't know this group very well, but I like what I've heard and I liked this song a lot. I'm a sucker for good minimal performances and this was a good one - I really liked the way they played off each other. Thanks Don for pulling this one out of the archives!

They’re actually married now but she’s not part of flatland cavalry but she has her own band.

A new band and song for me! Unusual voices and harmony, but I liked it. The two singers, I agree, either had a really good working and/or personal friendship or a relationship. Too many looks with unspoken words. Thanks for the re-upload/reaction/rating! Have a great day!

Good call by you and Don they were engaged @ the time of this video, now married.

They actually both wrote songs about how their relationship started, Flatland’s “Honeywine” and Kaitlin’s “How Lucky am I”

Thanks Don again for the quick re-up. I discovered these guys about 3 months ago and absolutely love them. If you enjoyed this song go to Flatland Cavalry's YT and pick out any song and I will say there is, at least a 90% chance you will like that one too. They really don't have a bad song IMHO. At the time of this video Kaitlyn and Cleto were engaged they have since married. Kaitlyn does have some really good solo stuff but I would say her catalogue is a little more inconsistent. 2 I will recommend are "It Won't Always Be This Way", and " Marfa Lights". Thanks again Don for the reaction and I believe your rating would have been higher if you would have done a version w/the full band so you could have appreciated there musicality as well as the lyricism. ----#UTRCM

I'm divorced myself. The last name part f*cking wrecked me. Love Cleto. God bless Texas.

Yes the giddiness is due to this being early in their relationship and now Cleto and Kaitlin are married. You should listen to White River from Kaitlin to hear the power vocalist she is. Check out the live version on The Next Waltz channel. An amazing artist live with a couple of really good records. Keep up the great reactions.

It’s been awhile since you have done a John Moreland song. “Blacklist” is a good one to react to.

I think Kaitlin Butts was the girlfriend or wife of the singer back, maybe still. She’s starting to really get traction on her own now.

Cleto is the best songwriter in Texas right now. Maybe the only one that can come close is Kaitlin. Kaitlin’s voice live is INSANE and so is flatland as a band.

Were The Panhandlers a side project or Cleto's first Band?

    • @etb10
      @etb10 Před 2 lety

@@mikebarnett9012 flatland is Cleto’s band, Panhandlers is a side group with Josh Abbott, John Baumann, and William Clark Green, inspired by the Flatlanders (Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Joe Ely, and Butch Hancock). And the best thing about the Panhandlers in my opinion is that Baumann wrote in one of his songs “When I was a young boy my father asked what I wanna be
I said I wanna be a flatlander, Jimmie Dale, Butch, or Ely” and then here he is years later in a group inspired by them.

@@etb10 Cool information, I really enjoy some of The Panhandlers and have seen both Joe Ely and Jimmie Dale solo. I knew of the Flatlanders but did not know The Panhandlers was a sort of homage to them. Thanks for filling me in.

Cleto is a good writer, but Evan Felker of Turnpike Troubadours is in a whole other league when it comes to writing.

If possible, could you react to: Nick Bosse: what happened to country? There’s a live version that’s really good and I think you’d enjoy it

You should do a reaction video to ride sovines Teddy bears last ride it's the second part to his song called teddy bear and it's the actual second part of the song whereas the phantom 309 was not the second part of the song and teddy bears last Ride explains more of the story.
