    Over here (US) autos are quite common for trap, particularly for doubles, but most of time they're outfitted with a sell deflector or catcher to keep from throwing your hull at the guy next to you on the squad.

    I have a really good shell catcher for mine that's specifically desgined for most A400 models, which works well. My multitarget came with the Kick off Unit stock, which helps to minimize the recoil and makes the whole shooting experience a lot more comfortable. I dislike the screws on the railing and B-fast rib becoming loose after doing several rounds of trap. Check these screws peridocially but don't overtighten them. My rear sight became misaligned with the front sight.I'm waiting to get my gun back from the repair shop.

    I’d imagine the magazine limiter or “plug” is probably for hunting in America where we are limited to 1 in the chamber and 2 in the magazine.

    • @lloydyp
      @lloydyp  Před 6 lety +2

      A section 2 Shotgun licence in the UK limits capacity to 3 (1 in the chamber, 2 in the mag) a gun wit ha greater capacity is classed as a Section 1 Firearm.

    • @siavashhazini2061
      @siavashhazini2061 Před 6 lety +1

      All Semis in the US should be limited to 3 capacity for "hunting only" not 2. It's 1 in the chamber, 2 in the mag.

      @@siavashhazini2061 only for waterfowl hunting. Most of these regs go back to when professional hunters shot game to sell for food. At one time items like punt guns large bore 4 6 8 gauge shotguns could let professional waterfowl shooters literally drop flocks of birds at long range. To protect waterfowl the US limited capacity in shotguns to 3 limited bore gauge to 10 or smaller outlawed punt guns. The plug in the US still exists for that reason.
      One hunting upland only May unplug a shotgun in the US not so in the UK.

    Good vid, you did enjoy the shotability of the gun and especially the recoil!! I just bought the A400 ultra lite and it is a fantastic shooting for me!! It is a 12 guage and can shoot in all conditions. I’m older at 70 and because it light I can mount easier and point faster for clays and waterfowl. The recoil is super smooth even for 3” shells.

    I hate reviews that make negatives out of thin air. People are too nit picky. Beat your gun up and does it run? Does it run all different ammo types you like to shoot? Is the ergonomics good? Everything else doesn’t matter. You can change out the charging handle if you are that bothered by it. And the ringing noise? Idk how to respond to that but I’m just not bothered by things that don’t matter.

      If all I do is ignore the faults as I see them then what is the point of reviewing guns. I guess that's why I have a channel that reviews guns and you dont.

      Would also add, good honest review, the gun is not for everyone, and it’s down to choice. I have a 28” version, with kickoff, and like it allot.
      On another note, I sold on my DT10 a few years back and bought a Beretta 1301 for sporting, get some looks, but hit rate improved a great deal. But again, all down to choice and how it’s sits in your mind.
      Looking at a DT11 ACS as well.

      In the US currently, the A400 Multitarget is not offered with a left-ejecting receiver, there is no palm swell, and the stock cast is very nearly neutral. Stock cast can be adjusted slightly for left- or right-handed shooters with a pair of shims that Beretta supplies with the gun. Other A400 models are offered with a left-ejecting receiver, but not this one, at least not at this time. I am left-handed and bought this shotgun specifically because the adjustable comb and shims make it possible to fit the gun to either a left- or right-handed shooter. Having shot right-ejecting semi-autos for years, I've never been bothered by the hull going past my face because I have never seen it (focused as I hopefully am on the target). The gas system on this shotgun vents near the tip of the fore-end, so I don't notice any spent gas coming back through the receiver. This particular shotgun fits me very well, and at this price point, a fully-adjustable shotgun is a rare find.
