This is why I strongly believe Giannis should win his third MVP award, and the league knows it, but for some reason they are quietly terrified of this man.
It's a media geared towards protecting lebron's legacy, which means Giannis is going to have to take things by FORCE.

Giannis is on a team that without him is still a top 4 team in the east. he got a DPOTY next to him and two all stars! [of which only one was healthy but still]. They win games without him. Im not saying Giannis is a fraud or anything. He is the best player in the league but his team is way too good for him to be winning this year. Jokic is playing on a team that wouldn't be making the playoffs without him and he is having a top 5 offensive season in Nba history. I don't see how giannis should have an advantage here.

When Giannis as a joke grabbed his own rebound for a triple double the media ripped him for it. Even though you can see him laughing about down the tunnel after the game ended. However when had a triple double a couple of days ago on 100% FG, you didn't hear a peep out of the media. When Jokic had a triple double on 100% FG the media covered it non stop the next day. In fact the media made a bigger deal over Giannis' rescinded triple double than the Nuggets losing streak at the time. The media coverage is so lopsided its hard to take the MVP conversation that serious anymore.

I think jokic embiid and giannis are the top three guys and I don’t think many people could argue against that. But giannis is the clear best two-way guy out of the three. MVP stands for most valuable player most people don’t seem to know that. Giannis is averaging 30+ points 12 boards 6 assists whilst playing elite defense. That’s more valuable than a triple double with average defense compared to jokic.

I thought we should have won it last year, but I also thought Jokic and Embiid deserved it just as much. This year I have the same view. I wouldn’t be mad if any of those guys win it. I’m a Celtics fan so I really wanted Tatum to win it, but he hit a slump in the last third of the season and now he has no chance at it unless a miracle happens.

As a diehard Bucks fan, I'm with you on this. Basically, anyone on ESPN that is not named Malika Andrews (Bucks ESPN Reporter during the title year) absolutely despises Giannis and the Bucks completely. Think about this. We ruined Stephen A's perfect Finals matchup of Lakers vs Nets in 2021, we destroyed Tristian Thompson last year when he was with the Bulls in the 1st Round of the playoffs and Giannis dunked all over him multiple times, we made Kendrick Perkins eat his words on calling Giannis a Robin, the Jump (which is now NBA Today) demanded Giannis go to either Golden State, Brooklyn, or Miami in order to win a chip, and finally they predicted that we'd lose in the 1st Round during our championship season. Even if they are covering the Western Conference Finals this year, they better be forced to come to Milwaukee during the Finals. THEY BETTER!

For the season Giannis has the highest defensive rating in the league by a substantial margin and opponents are shooting the lowest shooting percent in the league when guarded by Giannis and its still true even if you make it just on the perimeter or just at the rim which really shows he's the best defender in basketball 1-5 while Embiid can really only guard 4-5 at that elite level.

I’m a sixers fan I want Joel to win it really bad so I look at the competition all the time and honestly the only things I can think of is his shooting percentage, free throw percentage and his defense I don’t watch every bucks game like I do the sixers so maybe I’m wrong and it’s just certain defensive stats but statistically he doesn’t average a full steal or block per game I personally have tons of respect for Giannis but these are the reasons I can think of that Joel or jokic is ahead of him right now
To be fair, stats are not that great of showing good defenders. Especially blocks and steals, because you can be a great defender without averaging many of them. Just the way you position yourself on the court and how you make it insanely difficult for the opponent to get a good look.
