  • This video was never intended to be for CZcams, but after watching it I thought it was a good representation of various varieties that grow well in zone 3. I know people are always looking for tried and true, tested varieties, especially for colder climates. I hope this video is helpful in that respect. Our winters in northern Minnesota get as cold as -40 and these plants (highlighted in the video) have been thriving on their own for years now. I hope this helps you in picking some varieties that are sure to produce for you. I also hope it motivates and encourages you to see just how fast it’s possible to change the landscape of your yard. With a bit of hard work and some proper planning, you can have an abundance of resources that you and your family can share for years to come. Enjoy!

Searched fb for a gardening group near where I live (current group I'm in are 99% at least two zones warmer) and found your post with this video. I was going to comment in fb, but I see the rules don't allow 'folklore' and I'm big into alternative medicine, so I'm commenting here instead. I'm in zone 4A, just south of 3B, started growing food in 2021, and I want to thank you for giving me hope for so many options! I'm growing many of the things you are, although often different varieties, but I'm going to keep watching you!

Nice work! Do you mow the grass paths between the different plant sections? I'm curious if the grass/weeds areas are creeping into your plants or not.
