The problem with short mega is ALOT of events ban modified ammo. And other events say short mega doesn't count as mega darts for their special mega rules. Because cutting down mega kind of circumvents the "big dart" idea.
it can fire up to 2 full lengths at a time if u muzzel load
I read people complaining about event rules, game modes, FPS caps all the time. I even read of people complaining about attending local events that are using game rules they found online from groups 2000 miles away. Here is the solution: play a local game using whatever the hell rules you want. It's absolutely ridiculous that I can't play a game using a Mega blaster ir a Boomdozer because of some bull$hit rules some douche bags made. It's nerf, play how you want.
@@lipoz-n-nitroz4012 who
I agree, short mega defeats the purpose of the game balancing tradeoff. big dart = more power is kind of made pointless by making said big dart small again.
@@avocadopeel7536Do half length and full length darts have different values? If not I don't see why you can't just apply the same logic, the short mega don't appear to be any more accurate and the ecosystem for them is pretty nonexistent. You could also make 5hem half as powerful, requiring 2 shots instead of 1. I like the idea because you could make mega shotguns that actually act like shotguns haha
Genuinely Terrifying.
and this is only the short mega pistol... i have plans for mega xl sniper
Thank you, captain Xavier it means so much to heat wave that you did this
The last time I looked for the accufake Mega darts (about a month ago), they were available on NFStrike
Imagine if the paradigm shifts towards half length darts of all variety in the future. I'd absolutely rock a half-dart megs shotgun in a nerf war
I know my local war says any mega shorter than 3/4 length doesn't count special. Mega XL has to be full length to have special effects. I have been told it is to keep the heavier feel of those ammo types.
@@TintagelEmrys sadly 43mm is the longest i felt i could do and still have it be fun to use as a grip fed
@@heatwave-2243 I understand totally. I still want one, even if just for the fun of it. I just don't think cut down mega will become too common.
@@TintagelEmrys yah, eventualy ill make something full length that uses the core system i made with its internals, i realy want to make something that can takes shells or non shelled darts from the same mag, so maybe a mega full length or shelled ultra sniper, working on a mega xl thing first tho
Can't wait for the Nerf half darts to be half-length Ultra darts! /s
This seems like an ideal omega squad sidearm. Actuallt, a sidearm for anyone not light or medium infantry.
Half dart Mega rounds? Dart Zone definitely take note.
Short mega darts are a way better idea than ultra darts could ever be
I'm currently building one, and I can't wait to bring it to some HvZ events haha
Nice
Scar barrels for mega blasters might be something to invest in
I mean there’s a few designs out there already
i do have a elite one in the works using 1.375in id plunger tube but i havnt even finished it enough to start printing yet
The fact that it's a grip-mag pistol with slamfire makes for an interesting proposition:
Could you have it to where the trigger pulls back the slide AND fires the round, essentially giving it double-action?
The Barricade has an awful trigger, but has a long enough draw that adding a gearbox that turns the draw into mechanical pull on the slide might get it to work IMO.
It might be possible...but certainly not feasible. The weight on that prime would be INCREDIBLY heavy. And it would be firing before chambering. Unless...unless the breach automatically reopens after firing like in a centurion. (though, I am leary of using the centurion as inspiration for anything) In that case if you could have it chamber and prime as you pull the trigger and then fire when the trigger is fully pulled. That could potentially work!
@@CaptainXavier The Centurion wasnt perfect, but what what it tried to do it certainly has a place in the creative mechanism Hall of Fame.
In a pistol form factor, I could see that being interesting for something small like short darts. As for the heavy trigger pull, im half-tempted to put a small motor and gearbox in to help with mechanical advantage on the trigger. But then im essentially making a pistol version of the Stampede.
Which dont get me wrong, I dont hate the idea, but at that point if you're putting a motor in, just go all in and put flywheels.
Kinda running into the Jeff Goldblum conundrum of "you were so occupied with COULD you do it, you didnt ask whether or not you SHOULD". Lol
@markfacebook was thinking about a aeb similar in look to a usp or fo 10mm pistol. Using big plunger volumes and good seals to get good fps.
@@markfacebookthere's reason to use aebs over flywheels, such as stealth and accuracy.
@@johnmurcott1273I know there's been a few rifle AEBs made recently, but has anyone tried making one in a pistol form factor?
Never seen a short dart mega gun, nice
Cool blaster, it's fun when people can figure out mechanisms like this. Half dart Mega is an interesting idea, it might be fun to make Mega-upscaled versions of some other half-dart platform. A hammer prime Mega Magnum might be cool.
So a mega hammershot?
this looks cool
Captian
Awesome look at the very cool and unique blaster. Keep up the great work.
Ooooh that thing with that scar system looks like a really big h&k usp with match conpensator, like how deadpool would use it.(maybe in red and black🤔)
I’d be interested to see how Buzz Bee Mega darts work. Bangarang!
Tagged or Alive you are coming with me!
This and the M005E in two words: Stopping Power
Well in my personal opinion, half-length megas should count as medium ammo. If they weren’t, there would be no use for them, and I think they should have a use case.
What is medium ammo
@@sylodui Regular Megas. Shield piercers.
Robocop Hand Cannon was my first thought
This would go good with your big sheild
Another giant ammo blaster? Yes please!
I cant wait for mega xl half darts!!!
well i am planing a scaled up one but as a mega xl sniper, 3in ID by 9in plunger tube.....
I can confirm that NFStrike has accufake megas, and for cheap. Bought a few hundred a few weeks back.
I have some of those accu-fake mega darts. They are definitely more accurate but also heavier so don't go as far.
i think the off brand darts i sent have a tighter fit in the barrel aswell, the heads arent super consistant tho so
This looks like something i should get 🤔
lol
How is the trigger pull on this? I'm planning to adapt the catch mechanism for something else.
A carbine kit for this thing would be amazing!
working one it, so far i have the stock released
In opposite, I have a Fire Phoenix given to me by a friend.
Try using the Modern Combat Sports large pistol holster.
Would love a carbine version with stock and pump grip! More people in my club plan on running shields, need something to take them out, and this would be perfect!
it has what i hope are enough points for me to mount them to it without haveing to change exsisting stuff
If it's a Carbine just use full size Megas
@@ShadowDaPk wouldnt work as a atachment, would need to make a entirely difrent frame and such for it to take full lengths from a mag
Unfortunately not for standard half darts. Hopefully he makes it Talon Compatible.
Everyone deserves a hand cannon!!
Short Mega darts???? New future upon us?
“Half length mega darts”
I’m sorry, WHAT?
20mm handcannon
So in your events would half mega darts count and have the effects in the game as regular mega darts? Like taking down shields or would it take 2 of the half ones? Just wondering....
At my games, yes. Half-Length Mega is still Mega.
I wonder how this plays with shields and other tank targets.
welll u can load 2 full or 5 43mm darts at once and still get decent range..... shotgun blast!
Have you ordered the Stryfe X?
No
uhggg the trigger decided to go on strike for the slamfire i guess, need to work on that i thought i fixed that
Just a theory for you.
In regular half darts the dart head is a third of the entire length. In mega half darts the dart head is half of the total length. I believe we are cutting the mega darts too short.
If I cut them longer they would not fit in the magazine...
@@CaptainXavier
Different discussion.
What I'm trying to say is that there should always be a weight rapport between arrow head and arrow shaft. I don't believe that the rapport in mega half darts is proportional with the regular half darts.
@runkurgan hey yeah? I would love to see the data you have collalated from your series of experiments testing various mega half-dart lengths that shows repeatedly what the optimal length is. That would be very useful information. :)
Because unless you have that you don't have a theory, what you have is a hypothesis. ;P
But snark aside, I think it is a hypothesis with a lot of merit. There is almost certainly an optimal foam length to dart head ratio. But until someone does the aforementioned series of experiments, we won't know what it is. It might well turn out that this is the best ration. It could be that our current standard half-length streamlines are too long. We need the science!
@@CaptainXavier
My bad. Hypothesis. I'm really bad at maths. But I do plan on testing this. It will probably be less comprehensive than you could do.
it thooped...
Where do you buy K26?
mc master carr
Fips?
...did I fail to include the FPS footage in the video? ...sounds like something I would do...gimme a minute...
@7:16 You stole FLUX's dart!
Absolutely!
Seems like the darts that whistled are the least accurate.
yah they are off brand and so head consistancy is sadly not greate, they go the fastest
