Streets, these visions, an origami city folding in.
Construction, creation, we are architects and kings,
Lifting street stones from their beds to build these homes from memory,
As we're tangled in our sleep.
We were young together, but I've grown ancient.
Cracked and weathered and filled with regret,
Waiting to sink, rushing to sink in my sleep.
The realisation sinks in through the skin like a disease,
A blight inside of me.
Missing your touch, your weight on my fingers,
What was familiar becomes unfamiliar.
Give me an anchor, a lifeline to hold.
Bring me back to something I know for sure.
Locked away, a dream-dweller pale from hiding with secrets
Deeper than daylight dares to seek.
Come out, emerge!
Hands to our eyes, overexposed for all we are.
Lay me down in a den of dreamers,
Put me to rest on a bed of sleepers.
Doubt is a plague. We'll never be safe here again.
When all their eyes are tied to me, just carry the conversation please.
We were young, sandcastle kings building empires, cities and homes.
Architects tangled up in our sleep.
Wake up. - Hudba
When my panic attacks became overwhelming, I heard this song and came back down. I owe my life to this song in particular. Hands like houses is the best band and I wish you guys would tour in the U.S. more, I would love to see you guys in Grand Rapids
The orchestral embellishments bring this song to a whole new level, this is Cameron Mizell's best work, imo
Apathy Orchard this and Memphis May Fire’s The Hollow
Cam was on a role back in the day
I keep saying: "This is my favorite HLH song!" over and over again, starting with No Parallels, Antarctica, Developments, This Ain't no Place for Animals, and now Spineless Crow.
I love this band.
MigueelDnd Have you heard A Fire On A Hill? If not you should, in my opinion it's definitely one of the best songs.
WISTERIA All time fav.
duuuuude Wisteria was the song that got me into HLH
This entire album is my favorite HLH song
Late but a clown and his pipe is a mega underrated banger. The opening is so good.
I can' believe people are equating this to Panic At The Disco just because of the lullaby sounds at the start of the song, the bands are literally nothing alike.
+LxH Cody I can't find any similarities at all. One major difference is the 0 cursing. I hate cuss words and it's not needed in music. It's overused in bands and other genres nowadays but i don't listen to a song if it has some random f word. just me though. HLH will always be my favorite band because of their lyrical quality, and hardcore sound. They prove that going against the grain is something that can bring success. #DissonantForever
+Brad Williams I know what you mean with the cussing but I kind of felt like they sold out when making Dissonants... Just since it doesn't have as good of lyrics as their other two albums and the second half of the album seems like filler songs :/
LxH Cody lyrically that album is great. By your comment you've bought it I assume. Honestly that last part of the album is my favorite part. Momoentary and the one's after that are so deep emotionally. It May have the filler sound but honestly I love their new stuff. It is easier to understand him. Its your opinion but that album is a great step in the right direction for them.
+Brad Williams ehh I mean not that the lyrics are bad it's just that he kind of made them simpler so that more people would understand them, but yes momentary and I am had really good lyrics, I just wasn't as ecstatic about the rest of the songs
+LxH Cody They are still different from any other band out their. I was happy with all their stuff. But you have an opinion so I'll honor it.
Hands like houses soon to be on tour with legs like apartments and foots like townhouses.
Especially the chorus - "We were young together, but I've grown ancient. Cracked and withered and filled with regret, waiting to sink wishing to sink in my sleep." =
Saito: We were young men together. I'm an old man.
Cobb: Filled with regret...
Saito: Waiting to die alone...
does the tune at the beginning remind anyone else of Bird and the Worm by The Used?
*immediately thinks of Owl City*
*cries because I miss the old Owl City*
+xInkyx that too
Or something old school chiodos would do!!!!!!!
Definitely. I was just thinking about that song. I need to give it a listen. Been a long time. But maybe after giving Ground Dweller another listen first lol.
I just found this band and they are amazing!
This song just made my day....heck this just made my life! Beyond stoked for this album to drop!
When nobody is awake at night, I like to fill the bath tub with spaghetti sauce. Then, I completely submerge myself in the sauce, and imagine I am a meat ball.
How could you dislike this video
We were young, sandcastle kings building empires, cities, and homes, architects tangled up, all tangled up in their sleep
Vinny Jesse your lyrics are wrong my friend
Why do awesome bands like HLH never receive the fame they deserve?? The world is so unfair.....:(
So stoked for this cd ♥
I'm in love with this song. I can't stop listening to it
Ugh I love this song so muuuuch
thought it was decent first time i heard this. after replaying it 3 more times, ive realized how brilliant this song is. its been on replay allllllll day.
Construction, creation, we are architects and kings, ( best part!)
we need a band like this now a days. No screaming or a breakdown every second. This band is just calm and relaxing.
this is beautiful, cant wait to buy the album
I love everything you all do!
I remember watching their old youtube videos and liking them on facebook when they had only 1,000 likes.
I'm so glad they're hitting it big (:
Already pre-ordered!!!
My F-ing favorite!
The HLH music i love the most is Weight ,its awesome you guys should check.
very happy that i begin listen to them they are awesome
Amazing!
Their songs are extraordinarily brilliant.
It is. A lot of the songs on the album have references to movies, and books as well.
is it just me or does the beginning of this sound like Panic! At The Disco
+Angelena Aster-Stater This whole song sounds like a little-bit-more-hardcore version of Panic! At The Disco, to me.
+Angelena Aster-Stater I thought the same thing
I can't believe I never knew they leaked this song. I'm so happy right now, this song is awesome
It sounds good without screaming. I wouldn't say screaming would make it better. But i doubt it would make it worse. But whatever, it sounds good like this and i will surely listen to it!
these guys are quickly becoming one of my favorite bands
Hearts like Hotels
This is AMAZING
Much love 💚
Perfect x
Really awesome nice guys(: They're really cool, and trenton is awesome for singing in San Antonio even though he was sick, definitely made my night, or life actually
2:24 "Lay me down in a den of dreamers, put me to rest on a bed of sleepers"
I love this part so so much
The guy on the far left is so happy. That's the expression I'll have when I'm listening to this album
Yet another amazing song!!
Oh my gosh I wanna listen to this soo bad, but I really just wanna wait until my cd and shirt come in the mail that I preordered like months ago and listen to it full. I think it'll be worth it. :)
the beginning sounds like panic at the disco and sleeping with sirens "with ears to see and eyes to hear"
I WILL purchase this album.
My favorite song they've released so far for suuuure
Just got my copy of Ground Dweller. Definately going to be in my top 5 CD's of 2012.
love these guys. how are they not freaking famous?? i mean really?
I love this song. It is the best the guitar sounds good and the drums
Screaming in this band would only take away from it.
Animals references the movie Crash...some of the titles reference things..starving to death is most likely from Pinocchio with Gepetto being eaten by the whale. Lion skin is one of Aesop's Fables, but idk really if Trenton actually named them after those specific things =P, they just seem very similar. The only other movie that inspires lyrics that you didn't mention was Crash though, but I bet there's others and I just haven't seen the movies.
My ears are beyond pleased
I love this band. Sounds like Dance Gavin Dance and Woe, Is Me combined. Without screaming. Great change of pace :)
this song gives me goosebumps *-*
Thanks:)
Panic At The Disco, Dance Gavin Dance, bit of Woe Is Me and you get these guys imo. Plus their own creativity of course...
this song is incredible wowww
Take me back
It isn't written about Inception but it is influenced by it. They took the idea of growing old and becoming jaded much like Sato in inception in his long years in the dream world and expanded it into a love story.
When he says "we'll never be safe here again" all I hear is I'll never be Satan again.
"Tanner, Do you take Spineless Crow by Handes Like Houses to be your lawfully wedded wife?"
Me: "I do" xD
I pressed the thumbs up button before i even listened to the song.
This will be the most interesting album since Of Machines album.
Honestly the beginning reminds me of thriller more than it does I Write Sins Not Tragedies ... Maybe that's just me tho
It seriously does
Along side the palisades hands like houses is becoming one of my favorite bands.
I like this song. i'm only a minute in and i like this song a lot.
It seems really odd to me that, in this day and age, a comment like this would be near the top.
omfg why am i just now hearing about these guys they're fucking amazing
Ive only heard a few songs by this band and it's the best ive heard in a while. All these other bands that are coming out are all sounding the same but this mixes it up just enough to keep interest to todays music industry.
i was thinking the same thing!
cant wait for their album to bee released !!
It is!
INCEPTION.
@MrQuigibo5 What i was thinking exactly. The pretty voice and heavier music is a wonderful combination. Like sweet and salty. Odd, but it works amazingly.
Minds Like Mansions. :D
I will download (so I can put this on my phone) and purchase this album.
why is the noise all distorted in this one? the lyric version was recorded perfectly
Holy shit, this band. So good...
Yes
I nearly died when I saw this.
I love HANDS LIKE HOUES they rule and every time I hear this ssing I want to start singing and dancing
I NEED MORE OF YOUR MUSIC
My fave HLH song to be honest
how fucking awesome O:
Rise Records signing bands like a boss!
Do you mind telling me which songs are referencing which movies and books? I know that The definition of not-leaving references "Where The Wild Things Are"...
Probably way to late but antarctica is referencing peter pan I think
@Elchismoose Very true! And it's refreshing to here a good band whom doesn't scream.
They should have released Watchmaker instead. I'm really excited to hear Matty and HLH together.
this is an excellent band showcasing true talent. i'm just apprehensive on whether or not Rise is going to over-produce and make their music conform to all the other bands out there.
Each time i hear the beginning i think of thriller, o.e
come to Houston Texas USA!!!! please c:
cool intro, i like it
It's like panic at the disco & SWS had a baby lol I love it
The VERY beginning sound made me think I was listening to Thriller..
The random mustache guy at end on the left side.. xD But besides that awesome song(:
lyrics = plot of inception
First thing I thought of when I heard this song.
A little bit of screaming would add to the amazingness, doesn't really need it, but wouldn't be bad. :)
@phoenixsds the whole song sounds like a heavier panic at the disco. his voice reminds me of a mix of Brandon Urie(Panic) and Tyler Carter ( ex-Woe is Me)
The beginning sounds like a chiodos song
That's what I was thinking. The intro sounds very similar.
Oh my God, it was the singer of Woe, is me so obviously it's going to sound alike!!!!
good song ;)
