My late cat loved this song every time I put midnight diner on the tv he would come running to the tv stand and look at the screen with the cutest look ever. He lived upto the age of 21 and even till the last day he would always purr whenever I would turn on midnight diner. RIP Bo and RIP Suzuki-san.
I usually hate to just lay down, to do nothing, to let myself truly think. But when I listen to music like this, those feelings feel less scary. To this song I lay in bed looking at the ceiling, I sit on the couch looking at the cars pass by through the window, I let myself live in the moment instead of forcing myself to have constant stimulation. I could walk forever listening to this song, cause I when I listen to this I truly appreciate the beauty of what’s around me.
This song makes me cry every time I hear it. How beautiful and moving! For those who haven't seen the series Midnight Diner: if you watch it, you'll live longer and happier.
I binge watched 'Midnight Diner' over 3 days, I barely slept! That was the first time I heard this song and, I almost cried. I live in the UK, don't speak Japanese but, my heart and soul understood this song. Thank you.
Yes, I felt it too before I heard the translation. The show's subtle undercurrent flows through more and more with each watching - the poignant reflection of our lives back to us - this song below the surface throughout. . . Such a gift!
R.I.P. Suzuki-San I wasn't aware of your talent before hearing your work in "Midnight Diner". And just one of your piece brought so much peace in that moment... I'm thankful for your music existing.
When people finish their day and hurry home, my day starts. My diner is open from midnight to seven in the morning. They call it "Midnight Diner." That's all I have on the menu. But I make whatever customers request as long as I have ingredients for it. That's my policy. Do I even have customers? More than you would expect.
Memories The white breath that you exhaled Is now slowly riding the wind Within the floating clouds in the sky It disappears bit by bit In the distant, high up sky The white clouds that you stretch your hand out to You inhale the breath you exhaled And it's gently floating Forever like the things of the past Clouds flow on the surface of the river It avoids the reflecting rays of the sun The dog that sleeps beneath the eaves And within the sky the memories too They disappear bit by bit In the opposite side of this sky There is already one blue sky Within the sky with no-one there Clouds that gently float They disappear bit by bit 😭
This gorgeous tune always makes me think of the 1963 film A Tout Prendre, by Claude Jutra. Its theme song produced the same effect in me, of peace, nostalgia, and longing. I am watching Midnight Diner for the third time.
Sad he has crossed over and has left us. It is also VERY SAD that Netflix didn’t do another season. So many people loved Midnight Diner. Love and kindness apparently doesn’t fit their agenda.
I was also trying to find some knowledge about this song, and I found that it's originally a traditional Irish Song 18th century, and was covered by Judy Garland with the title A Pretty Girl Milking Her Cow
@@gisselmartinez5599 I guess you're new to the internet, then. Ok, here's lesson #1: The machine you're operating is called a computer. The device you're typing with is called a keyboard. WHEN YOU TYPE IN ALL-CAPS IT'S INTERPRETED BY ONE AND ALL AS SHOUTING. Most every human being apart from you knows this. I shudder to think of the countless number of friends and family you've annoyed by corresponding in this manner.
Na Netflix o seriado toca Omoide (do forma menos sofisticada) na introdução de cada episódio. É uma série tão boa, que vicia. Estamos esperando a terceira temporada.
I can't understand Japanese, but this song is like those gems which doesn't need language to convey it's meaning to the very depths of your soul... RIP Tsunekichi Suzuki, this one song emulates hundreds of films which other artists might do in a lifetime🥲❤️🩹❤️🩹

When I started to watch this TV serie, I felt an intense desire to cook every dish shown, specially soups. Because they look so delicius.

Wow. This is intense. I read that he was diagnosed with cancer of the esophagus before he died. His singing rose beyond his illness.
This is the what the soul of a great man sounds like.
Just saw he passed away in July 2020. I listened to this song so many times in the beginning of 2020... So sad.
Rest in peace Suzuki-san!
I cannot imagine "Midnight Diner" without his outstanding contribution.
Rest in peace Suzuki san. I was watching the midnight diner and this song was the best part of watching the series .

Memories

Is now slowly riding the wind
Within the floating clouds in the sky
It disappears bit by bit
In the distant, high up sky

You inhale the breath you exhaled
And it's gently floating
Forever like the things of the past
Clouds flow on the surface of the river
It avoids the reflecting rays of the sun
The dog that sleeps beneath the eaves
And within the sky the memories too
They disappear bit by bit
In the opposite side of this sky
There is already one blue sky
Within the sky with no-one there
Clouds that gently float
They disappear bit by bit
😭
Thanks very much.
Rest in peace beautiful man

Straight into my heart. RIP Suzuki-san. This song makes me appreciate the simple things in life (When was this recorded?)

If it helps, there is a manga available. The series was adapted from the manga with the same name.

How is it possible that there are really few info about this song and the singer and it doesn't appear on spotify or on a record?
