- This is Massimo Guerra´s latest Hillclimb Weapon , the incredibly rare (only around 50 were built between 1966 and 1968) Ginetta G12 in 1600cc Twin Carburettor Spec. Raced in Cividale Castelmonte and almost winning the Historic portion of the event (only mechanical problems on the last runs prevented him from taking victory) this machine benefits from its mid-engined layout coupled with its very low weight of 580Kg thanks to its multi-tubular space frame clothed in a lightweight fiberglass body.
It is powered by a Lotus twin-cam 1600cc engine breathing through twin Weber carburetors with the engine mated to a Hewland 5-speed transaxle sending the power to the rear wheels. In the front, the suspension was comprised of double wishbones with coil over shocks. The rear had double radius arms, upper transverse links, coil-over shocks, and lower wishbones. Girling disc brakes could be found on all four corners.
A piece of British Racing History and ingenuity that thankfully we can still see today being properly driven on the Italian Hills thanks to Mr. Guerra. It's nice that people are actually racing it instead of just sitting in a collectors garage for being that rare.
Dont agreed, most collectors cars are reallllyyyyy expensive fo racing:)
Cars are built to move my dude. Letting them sit in a garage is a waste. Drive em into the ground before they rot and fade away.
Dandyman-Bro do you know some cars like Jaguar XJ220 or McLaren F1 cost more than 1milion euros?
You really not want drive with those cars eweryday or accidentaly crash....
Which is why such expensive cars shouldn't exist for public roads. What's the point of buying a super car if you're not going to make use of it's power or minimally drive it in fear of damaging it? High end sports cars should be backed by a race team on a race track. Anything else is a waste.

This video is so cool, huge respect for people who race classics
Crazy fast, full mechanical and SO beautiful!
Amazing car, Ginetta is such an awesome brand and the I love the Original G4, this G12 is a beast of a car, a true British Lightweight, Small but powerful engine attached to a ultra lightweight frame designed to get from A-B as quickly as possible even with corners
That thing scoots! Who knew 160hp could ever look so fast...
Lotus seven TC !!
Very low weight + very small body (minimises drag) + only 160hp = a very fast car
I used one as a daily driver in the seventies, and sold it for about 2% of the current value, but still! A daily driver! Mine was yellow and road registered in 71 I believe...it did bite me once and needed a new / repaired rear body...epic times, I've owned 4 different Ginattas.
Special guest appearance by an Austin-Healey "Bugeye" Sprite, which is a neat little car in its own right.
This is they type of car I'd aspire to, good looking, light, lithe, all mechanical. It makes such a great noise.
Stark Raven yeah i thought that as it went by the camera that it sounded quite visceral
Nice, love how the thing dances under brakes that would be a fun car to drive
Thats one thing i like about old British sports cars. and race cars they always kept the weight down rule number one for being fast. love my lotus Elise, tvr t350c, tvr cerbera, the list goes on great video.
i have cerbera, and ginetta g4, and g16. all great
Just Amazing
On doit avoir des sensation de folie la dedans 😍
160hp pour 580kg au raz de la route ça doit être quelque chose 😍
That front end though!...
Totally looks like: 😦 ⬅LMAO!
Although Ginetta claimed that 50 were built I would say that probably 30 were made. I once owned chassis number 28 which was made in 1968.
I never see n this car before, but looks beautiful and fast!
that roof made for the driver to not smash his head... so cool!
Good cute litlle car,one of the best weekend cars:)
Used watch them race against the Lotus 47's in the late 60s, they always got beat though.
How can a 1.6 sound so good?!
Hey i remember that car from gran turismo 4 :)
seems to be another version of the one in GT4 judging by the back of the car
the one in GT4 is the Ginetta G4, a personal favorite of mine
@@gui43333 yeah, the other was G4 not G12, but its the same shit, lightweight, and fast.
@@elespiritudeltigre9526 no.
G4 have F/R layout, G12 is M/R.
275bhp per ton. Wow that thing is quick!!!
Nice car 🙄👌
1:20 "Ford GT40 Flashback"

Did this one crash? I'm pretty sure i saw it at the end of the event being carried on a huge truck, not looking exactly fine.
1:20 why is the door open?
