Welcome to the Heavy Spoilers show, I'm your host Paul and this video we're gonna be breaking down Love, Death And Robots Season 3. The last two entries have been amazing and the anthology animated stories have really provided a lot of thought provoking themes and incredible effects. Like last time each episode really stands on it's own two feet and throughout this video we're gonna be breaking them all down one by one.
Full spoilers ahead so if you haven't had a chance to check it out then I highly recommend that you check out now. Please hit the thumbs up button if you love the channel and don't forget to subscribe for breakdowns like this every day.
With that out the way, thanks for clicking this, now let's get into Love, Death and Robots Season 3.
Ok so Exit Strategies is the first ever sequel that we've had for the show and it follows the characters that we were first introduced so in Season 1. Episode 2, titled Three Robots this followed the three machines in question going through a post apocalyptic landscape to look over human culture.
There were a lot of Alexa, game console and portal easter eggs. This is followed up in the second entry with their ship looking a lot like Egos from Guardians Of The Galaxy Volume 2.
After bumping into a stray cat they discovered that they were the ones who had taken over the world after gaining opposable thumbs. However in the followup episode we learn that it was basically humanities innability to co-exist with each other that caused their downfall. Everyone had the ability to heal the planet if they worked together but unfortunately greed and selfishness brought it all crashing down.
Now last time we closed out with the cats closing in and though we don't get a continuation of this scene, they clearly got out of there like a cat out of hell.
This episode itself is based around exploring the titular exit strategies and we open exploring a gun fanatic camp that clearly hated liberals. They didn't want anyone coming in to mess with their way of life and this is shown early on by the minefield surrounding their home. I found the hat slogans hilarious here and we have 'I lubricate my gun with liberal tears,' I let my guns do the talking and my other hat is a gun.

if you love to read sci-fi shorts please check out the yearly anthologies from the now decesaced gardner dozois, i read one when i was a teenage and half of season one was actully short stories from that same anthology.
I watched it and was disappointed like with season 2. Only the crab-monster-ship and the scotch rat episode catch my attention. Too often I miss logic, originality and smartness in their plot. It's just like they try only to sell a new graphic card or a mature game.
You missed a Hitchhiker’s Guide Easter egg in episode 1 when the orange robot says so long and thanks for the fish
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO ANIMATE THESE? YEARS?
Was it you who replied to my comment saying I won a PS5?
The only problem with this show is that I end up binging the whole season in one day.
fucking comment one time, because of you other best comments are bottom down
Everyone does
Bro 1 Day ? i finished it in an hour i guess ... whatever the running time of all episodes was.
Same here!, I finished it in like 2 - 3 hours with breaks.
You're not alone
Those three robots really need a movie at this point.
They will get a show if anything
nah, just give them regular episode format.
Their charm is that they got no conflict, and hoping it stay that way
A series would be wicked with th three.
What about honey badger 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That was the most boring one of them all
This show lets the animators and creators so much freedom in expressing all these subjects and it really shows how good it looks and how interesting it is.
fucking comment one time, because of you other best comments are bottom down
why tf are you posting 3 sepperate comments wtf hahah
you mean laboring animators and artists with low payments
I loved Masons Rats. Him siding with the rats instead of the exterminators who took a lot of money from him is a nice ending.
He saw the rats as pests, but in the end, he saw they were only trying to survive soo he befriended them, it was wholesome and funny
Lol I hope he managed to cancel his check after all
Worst one imo
@@justanotherblackwhitemicke7817 And now, he can associate with the surviving rats and sell their GMO based moonshine
it`s like ratatouille but for alcoholics :P
This series proves that imagination has no boundaries... Beyond expectation ... Just loved it!
fucking comment one time, because of you other best comments are bottom down
Lmao, season 2 and 3 prove that their imagination is actually limited and they used it all in season 1.
@@MamadNobari nope
@@fathertime518 It's the same story over and over again with different animation and art styles, the only "imagination" and creativity is from the animators. What's the point if the story isn't good and engaging?
At least I'm enjoying season 3 a little better than the second, but that's not saying much. They should've waited and put these last two seasons together as season 2.
Same! Loved it!
Honestly the first season is still the best one in my opinion!
1. Season 1
2. Season 3
3. Season 2
Same as me
@@heavyspoilers 😁
I also agree. I thought the second one was underwhelming.
Yep even tho the first season overshadows in number of episodes
Season 2 was too short
Jibaro was definitely the most crazy interesting piece of film ive watched in a while
I feel the same. It's my new favorite episode out of all the seasons. It used to be "Beyond The Aquila Rift", it's now my second favorite. Then "The Witness" at third.
@@nappssnapps2891Beyond the Aquila rift is so much more powerful when you really know what happened. The episode didn't really explain anything
@@KeiGambit that is true, i agree it was. It was a jarring episode that really got to me
Jibaro’s story was amazing but the animation was so jarring for me. It actually made me motion sick which I’m usually quite immune to. The camera shake, changing colours, constant movements and change of being focused and not focused really made me feel ill
The faces looked AI generated. Disgusting, creepy, artsy wannabe episode
This season was the most consistent, loved every episode. Way better than season 2!!
I’ve just rewatched all 3 seasons and they were all really good so I can’t say which seasons are better.
S2 was ass
Yes agree, season two had its charm but season 3 really made it feel like watching season 1 for the first time again
You can tell season 2 and 3 were one season, they just left the heavy hitters for season 3
The Cthulhu part was one of the best things I’ve ever watched
That wasn’t Cthulhu - clearly inspired - but still one of the bleakest episodes
@@firstlast9846 Very much inspired but with a modern warfare appeal, so cool... I rewatched the very last scene and the medic is strolling away muttering "T'ka'thuthu". Throw an 'L' in there and you've got all the makings for Cthulhu.
I came out frustrated from all the dumb decisions the marines were making. The concept and the art was incredible but they had f it up.
It was confirmed that it was Cthulu by the creators. Just saying
Jibaro was clearly one of the best one this season, The forest released that red liquid to heal the siren but the soldier also drank it by mistake and what brought his doom
Your take makes more sense.
Jibaro is amazing the best episode
His GREED portended the Knight Jobaro's DOOM.
@@tmmartinesq.6216 agreed but he could have escaped eventually if he didn’t drink from the river at that exact time
The soldier got karma for what he did to her
GIVE THIS SHOW 10 MORE SEASONS NOW!!!
fucking comment one time, because of you other best comments are bottom down
I would watch every last one of them in one day
@@andrewmaddox2889 they really blew all their creativity and story telling in season 1, season 2 was awful and this new seasons barely gave any real stories, just really good animations. All of the episodes were just really simple storytelling with predictable endings, LD & R won't last 10 seasons and if they do, they will run out of original story ideas soon

Ah, I knew Jibaro's art style felt familiar! I loved the visuals from Witness in season 1, so I'm happy I get to see another visually interesting episode!
Your crazy for actually thinking that this was a good episode am sorry i can’t appreciate the art while its just all over the place my ears felt like they were bleeding from just hearing it terrible
@@yinyang9882 Art is subjective. While you found the visuals chaotic and the audio grating, I found it to be fascinating and exciting. The exoticness of it all was very interesting
@@yinyang9882 yup this episode and "the witness" were jarring and not as complex as they think it is. Very pretentious in my opinion
Jibaro was definitely my favourite it was hard to choose between this one and night of the small dead, but the horrifying nature and the music really made the final entry the best one for me, great breakdown of the episode thankyou.
Yes, Jibaro was the best entry!
@@alicesesay125 jibaro was also my fav but boy did it fuck me up. The pacing was so fast and sporadic it was almost jarring but in a good way and that make out scene had me wincing. It felt like an extreme psychedelic interpretative dance from start to finish and the art style remindd me of that witness episode from vol1 but darker. Fucking love thus series man
Nah the pirate one was the best
JIBARO is unbelievable, every second is extremely artistic and excruciating to watch, definitely the best of them all so far
Seriously. So much symbolism as well
@@boltspeedman35 very true. As if I was watching an live opera, the expression throughout the bodily movements and infused with the almost gruesome nature of the myth made it just next level. Such a Masterpiece
that was the worst episode.
@@a2raya772 that's a weird way of saying "best in the series"
@@darlingdream the Worst*
The end of Mason's Rats put a smile on my face. Sure, there was brutal warfare against the machines, but it atleast had a happy ending, not something that would make me feel Nihlistic with existential dread.
In "Vaulted Halls" there was an exit that potentially didnt have spiders that she tried to go through but the commander was drawn into the middle. From that i got the feeling she escapes but due to the exposure to Cthulu she is driven totally mad and self harms to try and stop it but just repeats what she has heard. (lots of other cthulu media has people self harming in that way). Definately a better season than 2 with them all being at least "good" with some great. Still will take something to top "suits" from season 1 for me though.
Ey that definitely makes sense
Why did he kill those two other soldiers?
@@tmmartinesq.6216 Yeah, I didn't understand that either.
@@tmmartinesq.6216 Do you mean the ones that were being eaten alive?
@@tmmartinesq.6216 mercy kills, rather than let them get eaten he finished them off since the outcome would've been the same just slower
Jibaro was soooo good. I love how creepy the Siren looks and the way she dances is unsettling. Truly a work of art.
The Very Pulse of the Machine was my 2nd favorite.
nah ur just a sick person
Jibaro was my favorite too , all the beautiful chaos and mesmerizing scenes
Jibaro was hauntingly mesmerizing. Definitely one that I could watch several times simply for the beauty of it
Jibaro "He crept into her heart seeking to devour her, but he was the one consumed!"
I wanted to watch all of them in sequence but Jibaro stole the show for me. I think it was a great one to close out the series (though I only watched the first 2) but this one grabbed me. I thought it was hauntingly beautiful - I couldn’t look away for the entire episode. Might change my mind after I finish all of them but this to me was outstanding. 🖤
I agree with you I was in awe watching the whole episode, like if the episode itself was the call of the siren Beautiful, chaotic and chilling
Agree
Swarm was soo creepy but so interesting at the same time 😭. I love how they incorporated more monster /aliens in this season!
Hard to choose a favorite this season, all of them were captivating. Can't help but love the humor from the 3 robots, the Night of the Mini Dead was hilarious start to finish, and every other piece made you think about choices having consequences. Can't pick a favorite, just going to keep rewatching the whole season.
It was that good, I'm with you.
Absolutely loved every episode, wish there were more. Night of the mini dead was hilarious and Swarm was exceptionally animated but the stand outs were Mason's Rats and Bad Travelling. Bit gutted Se3 is over already. Kenobi will save me next week.🥳
Big ups Def.💯👊🏾
What is Kenobi?
kenobi?
@@jeffquinn6573 obi wan kenobi is getting his own show with Ewan McGregor reprising his role from the movies. It will be streaming on Disney Plus starting May 27th. Gonna be dope hopefully 🤞 I have high hopes for it.
as a big fan of lovecraft i loved "Bad travelling" and "In vaulted halls" episodes
Vaulted Halls was a great premise for a modern take on Lovecraft
Loved the whole season. Above that, "Jibaro" stood out for me as especially breathtaking.
Siren couldn't kill deaf guy, deaf guy killed siren, drank her blood and then became undeaf. Siren killed deaf guy. That is beyond stupid.
@@DarksideChaotix yes it is the most garbage one. I legitimately hated it .
Loved the continuing adventure of our 3 beloved robots.
I’d donate a kidney to see a sequel to Sonnie
Same! Sonnies’s Edge is one of my favorites.
Same
Same
I really liked all the films this season - some of them still have a habit of ending abruptly which I find a bit annoying. Especially fun is the mini zombie apocalypse, but I found the most arresting film was the one with the river lady and the conquistadors - there was something quite surreal and mesmerising about it.
I think the endings are meant to leave more ambiguity, and most of the time you know what’s going to happen. Like in Season 1 the Beastie one, after she kills the girl quickly you can guess she would take her time scaring the man before killing him too
@@marcobodt9750 oh I know the point of it, it's like you are meant to be dipping into a snatched moment in a story rather than the whole story. But just my opinion I don't enjoy that as a narrative devise.
This show is the definition of unique.
The pulse of the machine and Jibaro were definitely my favs of the season
Same. Those are my favorite episodes of the season too.
Agreed. Same with me
This was a crazy season. In Vaulted Halls Entombed, Bad trip, the swarm, Jibaro, and the very part of the machine are all my favorite so it’s really hard to choose lol.
This season was amazing. Definitely better than the previous. I can feel what was it that I liked this series for.
Bad travelling is my favourite episode.
This season was straight fire! I watched it as soon as I woke up lol. Enjoyed every episode! better than season 1 imo.
I just finished watching volume 3! By far better than season 2 and possibly my favorite season. Jibaro was amazing. Sunny's Edge is still my favorite of all 3 seasons.
I could tell which episodes were done by the same animators.
I wish the episodes and the seasons were longer. I understand what it takes to make these amazing episodes, but I want more.
I feel like the high budget cgi episodes of season 2 were better than season 3 which is a let down.
Sonny's Edge is definitely my favourite too
Wish they continue telling more Sunny edge world like 3 robots
Jibaro made me go silent, which to me was impressive. This entire season was GREAT, but when I got to Night of the Mini Dead I was laughing like a mad man, and from there on the episodes just got crazier ( not implying Bad Traveling is bad, it is AWESOME), so when I finally reached Jibaro I didn't know what to expect... and it got me entranced.
There is so much packed in that episode, but I will only say... it was an incredible finisher to the season. And I hope they do more of this, Bad Travelling and Swarm in particular had such interesting concepts and worldbuilding, I could see series in those worlds that would be incredible.
Plus, when you consider how BADLY the 2nd season finished, this one was the exact opposite.
At first I did not know the last episode was about Sirens or anything, I just interpreted this episode in my own way. I assumed that this was a toxic relationship, he was clearly not for her (as they kissed and touched, the guy started to bleed). And she was attractive, in a deadly way, like there were many men that came to her but they tried to get her even they had to kill them selves. She thought she found something in him, or could take more advantage of him since he wasn't like other guys (cause she didn't kill him when she got the chance at night). However, he appeared to be just like the others lol and used her to get something else (taking off all of her jewels and threw her away). Maybe I'm wrong but I like these kinds of movies that give each of us a different though tho.
I saw it more as.. she was intrigued by him not being like the others - but when he showed his greed and basically ripped all of her jewels away and threw her body into the stream - she was swept back to where it all began.. showing that nothing really changes - the greed of humanity still persists in the man she thought was different.
The story is more simple than it looks lol, the siren took interest in him because he was deaf and the reason he got his hearing back is due to the myth that sirens blood have healing properties. So if the knight didn't throw her body into the lake the siren would have probably stayed dead.
I love when people missunderstand or striaght up overlook an important part of the story and come up with entirely new interpretations. So unique and interesting. Thanks for sharing
You interpreted that really well, the director said it was a metaphor for toxic relationships. Being drawn to another for the wrong reasons, being taken advantage of, feeling trapped or "mesmerized," and hurting one another so no one actually wins.
You actually interpret it correctly the writer himself said it was about toxic relationships
jibaro, bad travelling and swarm is my 3 favorite episodes in this season, the protagonist in bad travelling is very quick minded and smart with reason to save the people on the island. The swarm on the other hand, feels like a FPS game cut scene and lastly jibaro is like a roller coaster ride full of visual effects, good choreography and a fable like story. overall love the new season! 🤝
Bad traveling was definitely my favorite swarm and the rest were all great to. But bad traveling was the one that stood out the most to me , id like to see other voyages from that world with other crazy beasts in that sea.
How can you say Jibaro was the weakest? It was the best. I was captivated. I was invested in the story between these two. I loved the lonely ending.
Straight crazy to say _Jibaro_ was weakest. It was by far outstanding on all levels!
Visually it was amazing, but the story/message were neither deep nor thought-provoking.
@@jarrenleow I assumed it was a nod to conquistadors being lured to south America and stripping her of wealth during the 1500th hundreds, since they all looked Spanish and so, but haven't seen anybody making that connection yet
I really did not get that episode
It was mediocre at best for me
In Vaulted Halls Entombed: Were there spiders used as a protection method by whoever imprisoned the monster to prevent people from making to the monster itself, or were the spiders used to lure/direct people to where the monster is to potentially free it?
I think they're there to prevent the god from escaping. If you look at the chains around the god, they have the same bluish, glowing runes as the spiders. This makes me believe that whoever entombed the god, also made the spiders. Also the spiders are WAY too violent with the intruders which would be very counter intuitive if their objective was to lure
@@bulbobaggins but they push the humans closer to the god
@L Giver I thought the spiders were there to kill/stop anyone reaching the god
I truly loved The Rats. They really Have a Lot of personality.
Yeah
I can’t get enough of this show. I’ve loved every single season, and every single episode. It’s amazing getting to watch all the different animation styles. And the stories themselves are out of this world… from the funny, to the weird, to the absolutely disturbing. I really hope this show continues for a ton of seasons.
Thank you for this video, I was very confused in the last episode lol. Great video
One of your best breakdowns/commentaries yet. Informative, insightful, well-researched; even the humor was “right-sized” and not overused. I’m definitely looking forward to checking out the original stories. Great job!
This season was bloodier than the others, clearly the word death was stronger than love and robots. That's why i'm a bit disappointed, i wanted to watch more diversity. And of course Jibaro is a masterpiece, 0 word spoken and yet so captivating.
Omg! I'm just realizing they say a single word in Jibaro.
This season definitely better than season 2. All of these actually good. I really enjoy all of them. If I have to pick favorite
1. Jibaro
2. Bad traveling
3. Mason Rats
4. 3 robots
The art styles of all of the episode were amazing! My favorite had to be The very Pulse of the machine. Very beautifully done with the art style and poetry. Jibaro was also one of my favorites as the dance was beautifully made. It shows how dance can tell a story.
Finished it a day and love that you explain. Great video this season episode was good. Great video
One thing I have to say Paul. They were not knights but conquistadors ( the helmets were what they wore). Also in the halls entombed episode, in Lovecraft stores, if you see Cthulhu you go mad. So she may have pluck her eyes out to stop the madness, like in bird box.
I wondered if it was based on Spanish folklore - does anyone know?
Thatz what I thought
This was this better than volume 2 imo
Yeah agreed
Awesome, as usual!! I loved the Moebius-styled design, in the machine-planet!! I love it all!
That’s a fake ps5 comment Dan, PLEASE DONT SEND THEM ANY MONEY!
Thank you for this. Appreciate the breakdown of each episode. Always a must for each season. 😊
Night of the Mini Dead and Jibaroo are the best episodes of Season 3. The human conscience is a Divine gift enjoyed through art.
JIBARO was one of my favorite episodes as it was visually stunning and mesmerizing. Kudos to the work and in spite of the fact that the warrior was death in the beginning, he was still drawn in and she still eventually drew out his desire and he met his ultimate doom like the others. This was a very good season overall, the rats and the alien crab episodes were also tops this season.
It was fascinating 🤯 as usual…
Mine fav. Was the jubari and the swarm
I absolutely adore Alberto Mielgo's work, I hope we see more of it in future seasons!
Love, Death & Robots has become my favorite animated anthology type show. The thought provoking aspect and the topics addressed in this great show is REALLY impressive. There's nothing else out there quite like it, as far as I
know. 🙏
i have been very skeptical on watching this series that i have seen how it's already got a third season with a possible 4th one coming, i am going to have to watch this show now. thanks for the review, Paul.
Great recap! Thanks Paul, glad to hear your review of Terminator:Nonsense.
What a fantastic video. Thank you.
The last episode was creepy with the faces of the army.
Also the episode with the soldiers and alien spider reminded me of the game House of Ashes. While the big monster reminded me of Doom speaking of which if they ever make a sequel hope Doom Guy shows up and fights some demons!
exactly I was thinking of House of Ashes!
Comparing Cthullu to Doom 🤦♀️. Uncultured af.
This season was seriously updated and messages behind every épisode was profound
I don't know the three robot episode felt cheap.
Loved it! More More More!🤗
Kill Army Kill and Mason’s Rats are my favorites for this volume surprisingly amazing, same with Small dead I laughed through some of the references
I hope they never stop making new seasons
I thought Jibaro was a visual masterpiece. I would love to see the process they used to blend such realistic settings with such unnatural, fluid and stunning movement.
loved this season....Beautiful work all round. Glad to see it back👌🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
The Pulse of the Machine was absolutely beautiful. I teared up a little
This is my first time hearing of this series. Seems great definitely going to have to check all 3 seasons out
I wish I was you (watching them for the first time)
I just finished the whole 3rd season. Right after opening youtube, this gets recomended. Nice.
Thanks for the info
I think the ones with the rats was absolutely amazing.. When the Farmer saw what that machine could do.. His hate disappeared. Sometimes we just have to take a good look at our selves before condemning orthers. I loved the entire series.. I think the animation was " breath taking" as Keanu would say. Peace
Just want to say thank you for introducing me to different content. Different shows that I may not have looked at.
Ey thanks for the comment, always helps the channel out
The swarm were justified in their action with those human but it also scary how intelligent the queen is and peaceful she is since she can literally clone and modified an army to go against anyone
Right she doesn’t go out of her way to take over other life. She just makes them part of her ecosystem if they try her haha. I agree that’s scary cuz she can easily engulf everything.
@@cesarsain3731 plus it self defense too . She let anyone come in but as soon as they are hostile to her or the nest they are done for
Lmao, ya'll seriously are supporting aliens that threatened to kill humans. If it was in real life, you would all be shitting your pants and wanting those aliens to be exterminated.
I did not understand that episode
@@diegoramos27 okay basically think of the swarm as a bee colony now said bee colony Communicate through Fairmones ( scent) the queen felt a disturbances when her worker smell different and felt her eggs being controlled so she setup a system to something like the Cia and Fbi to listen and control the enemy movement and gathered information for enemy invasion hint the reason why the swarm ask the human to betray his people

Just watched the shows and came running to your channel
Mason's Rats was incredible, wished we could see everything from the rats' perspective. Also, I wished many episodes will be just 1 minute longer to show what happens afterwards!
They just need to keep making more of this show, there’s no reason why it needs to stop.
Great breakdown DEFFINITON!!
Another great breakdown paul 😂
Every episode was FANTASTIC. I have no favourite they all hit differently . Better than season 2
I thought this season was definitely the best of the three. My favorite is "The Very Pulse of the Machine", it was visually enchanting and I loved the story.
Loved the “what we do in the shadows” reference for jibaro 🤣🤣🤣 - i was reminded of that episode when watching jibaro too, oddly enough
I literally just watched all the episodes cause I saw you were breaking them down😂keep up the great work
Fuck yes this is going to be lit! Heavy spoilers your the man. Keep up the good work! Keep up the Puns! Thank You!
Swarm, Bad Traveling and In Vaulted Halls are my Top 3. I love anthologies
Ooo just binged this today, interested to hear your views mine are mixed what was the last one all about!!!?
Now we have to wait an entire year for the next volume :(
The second episode (bad traveling) is definitely my favorite and after that probably (night of the mini dead) your video was great by the way
Thank you
I liked this season. It was good. The one with the old Scottish guy and rats and robots was something. Did anyone notice that one rat who charged the robot looked like the old guy. But then the rats didn’t seem to realize the old guy started the whole massacre of their people by buying those things. Yes he learned humanity in the end but the rats I think left him too easy. It gave me Braveheart and Terminator vibes.
The Night of the Mini Dead was hilarious. The ending was chef’s kiss. That gave me Walking Dead + Resident Evil.
I liked the styling for the sea creature show. I feel like the guy that survived took pity on the crew and decided to give them an early death through calculated manipulation. They never made it to the island but how did it get on the ship.
I’m gonna have to watch this season again.
I gotta say Mason's Rats, and the last entry 'Jabilo' I think?, were awesome, with the mini night if the living dead. The way the earth snuffed out at the end was so comical.
The mini dead episode was hilarious. I really wish some of the endings didnt end on cliffhangers though.
Every season of LD&R was absolutely class. The way forward for animation. Maybe Warhammer could sign up these people and MAKE A GOOD 40k Horus Heresy trilogy!!!!!
As a fan of Lovecraft's work, i absolutely LOVED the 8th episode. I mean, this season was strong, it had very good episodes, but for me the 8th was the absolute best.
i loved jibaro. the art of it was amazing and including henryk gorecki's 3rd symphony melted my heart :)
the very pulse of the machine moved me so much... such a beautiful message that everyone needs to hear
I LOVED everything about Jibaro! So many feelings in so little time.
We actually don't know where the soldiers came from, or where were they headed. Is the "mermaid" just evil or is she protecting something (or perhaps herself) from those soldiers? It gave me the feeling that she actually wanted the man to be that one and different person who isn't lusting after her body (which is the treasure). He took advantage of her feelings/infatuation just for greed, violating or mutilating her body just for the gold. In fact, we can see his greedy the very first moment he finds a scale of gold (when they arrive to the lake) and looks around just to make sure none of his companions saw it, so he could keep the gold to himself.
We obviously don't know the mermaid's motivation to kill hundreds of men, but we do know that even at its worst, the guy only cared about the gold, capable of doing no matter what to get it, which eventually and poetically drove him to his death.
According to the director (Spanish guy) both are pretty bad people. This is a story with no heroes. And it's also intimately connected to The Witness, his first short in 1st season of LDandR.
@@jaimepe4765 Some people say that this is about the spanish conquerors and the gold they stole from south american tribes. Using the word "Jíbaro" can't be a coincidence... People think is the name of the guy, but its a word used to refer to "country people" from Ecuador or Puerto Rico. Who knows, but it is amazing how a shortfilm can make such and impact without using a single word!! 👏🏻
@@Setheera it’s set in Puerto Rico. The Spanish stole all the gold they found in our rivers.
Last episode jibaro was awesome ...
So much details
Favorite season yet! In the first 2 seasons, there were a couple that weren't for me, but here, I loved every episode. Partial to the last 2 though, simply because I love their type of horror. The Vault one featured an ancient powerful titan creature and the Jibaro one a river siren who does creepy ballet. And the detail and realism of that Jibaro episode--WOW! I forgot I was watching an animation. Pretty soon maybe we won't need live actors anymore.
Went through volumes 1-3 today. Thanks for the recommendation.
