  • BRANDS TESTED: Milwaukee, Dewalt, Ryobi One+, Ingersol Rand, and Performance Tool. Battery powered grease guns tested for output rate without any resistance, with 150 PSI flow resistance, and maximum PSI. Brands also tested for pumps per minute, output per pump, noise level, ergonomics, ease of priming, and battery recharge time. Will any of the brands deliver 10,000 PSI? Will any deliver 10 ounces per minute? Let's find out! I always purchase all of the products tested. No sponsors on the Project Farm channel. It's all about unbiased testing. Hope you find this video helpful.

Milwaukee had 2 speeds, thus 2 pressures and 2 flow rates, and it's unfair to the others to take the pressure of one setting and the flow of the other speed and declare it the absolute winner. Try comparing apples to apples, at the higher pressure (around 10000 psi) the Milwaukee had less flow rate than the Ryobi.

To grease fittings which generally put grease into beatings and other things. If you have ever used a manual grease gun, your generally holding that nozzle by hand so is on straight, while putting the grease gun body against something, including yourself, whole you other hand is pumping the handle. In general that sucks.
It's really bad in hard to get areas to do that. The Lock on nozzle is a must have which I learned about a year ago. That allows you to lock on the zerk fitting and use 2 hands on that grease gun. But you still have to let go one hand to take off and move to another and grab the gun with both hands again. Also sometimes the little ball that seals the zerk fitting gets stuck and you can't get the grease in with a manual grease gun.
With a powered grease gun. You can hold it and operate with one hand, and use your other hand to move th nozzle from one zerk to another quickly. If you use a locking nozzle, you don't even have to hold it in place. You also end up with a lot less waste of grease that tends to squart out around the nozzle at the same time it goes into the zerk. The power guns also have more force. So with locking nozzle you can generally force grease past a zerk.
Zerk fittings allow you to put grease into things without having to take things apart to get grease inside.

Ive used the milwaukee daily for over 2 years and its been a fantastic tool. Great for jobs that are not near an airline, and would take too long with a hand pump.

We use the Milwaukee guns at work, and they are phenomenal. When its below freezing its the only grease gun we have that can push grease into the bushings on our CAT 980 loader. Great product.

@mrmotofy Yes, when switching tubes it will stall occasionally, but its far less finnicky than hand units or our older Alemite guns to clear the air pocket and get it operating again.

I like all of your videos. You do a great job at showing real tests. It really helps to knowing which products work best when your running a company. I would be interested in the future seeing a test of battery powered caulk guns. There is none of these guns in our stores, but I have considered wanted to invest in them, but it's difficult to find any information about cordless caulk guns. And I hate to order them blind and just guess and brand.

Last month my boss got the Dewalt kit with a battery and charger for like $199. It’s been great to use in our diesel shop. I like the single speed. I don’t actually remember it having a light but we tend to use stick or flood lights anyways instead of the lights on power tools.

When loading a new tube of grease most grease guns have a groove at 90 degree on the rod that locks in the plunger and allows you to push grease up into the tool to help eliminate the air lock
Twist the rod back 90 degrees and slide it back in and it’s ready to go
Really helpful when it’s cold outside

Thank you so much for the video! I almost just bought the Milwaukee but bought an elamite 597b instead. The Alemite I already have works perfectly fine but the batteries bit the Dust. So if anyone wants to buy up Alemite 585 I have it lol I never got that right, loading the new cartridge. I thought the handle had to stay out to push the grease in while you were using it, but now I see you push the handle all the way in with the new cartridge. Thank you thank you thank you!!
