Completely zero sign of his political and social reforms. Nothing. No Napoleonic Code, which is I believe still in use in France to this day, not even a mention. No signs of his political brilliance. Furthermore, when he becomes first consul, they make him seem like coward and it's his brother that does everything, when in reality it was his idea to bring in the troops, and he changed on the last second the law making him and the other people consuls so that only he has real power. No build up to him becoming Emperor. No build up to Tsar Alexander betraying him (they were talking about Napoleon marrying one of his sisters minutes ago). Making him abandon the campaign in Egypt cause he had heard her wife had a lover lol. I mean, how dumb can the writer be please. Leaving your men to die just cause you got cheated on. Leaving completely the campaigns in Italy and Spain, when the first was a masterpiece and the reason he climbed up the ranks, and the second would be Napoleon'd thorn in the side all throught the Napoleonic wars. As said before, the movie's Napoleon has less charisma than a snail. And when he comes back from his exile and his troops start abandoning their commanders to come with him, it makes no sense cause he has no charisma. In reality, Napoleon had an outrageous amount of charisma, which would serve 100 times better in the film. And the love story. You make a film of the world's greatest general, and one of the greatest politicians, and 70% is a love story. On top of that, none of the two characters are likeable. Completely boring. Everytime the movie swapped from Napoleon's campaigns to him and Josephine, I fell asleep. I dont know why I wrote this long message for you, cause you're probably gonna answer with a "You're wrong (insert something rude)". But whatever. Do what you want, but the movie is not good. It would be stupid to do Gladiator 2 with Russell Crowe, because the Roman Empire spanned well over 1,000 years. The problem you have is that today's people don't have a grasp of the details in history. You just get the cliffnotes and the watered down version. You didn't even know that blonde hair on a woman was looked down upon, most likely because it's associated and more prevalent with who? Germanic and Nordic tribes.

Some things are better left out of view and for speculation, and the existence of the soul in the next life shouldn’t be like this life, at least for the purposes of this film, because then their deaths were not as tragic.
Maybe if they went mythological, Maximus could have been fighting in the afterlife and perhaps be sent back to to the Empire by Roman gods for some task. Might have been better than what's actually going to be released as "Gladiator 2". But better to keep the movie historical, I think, so a movie about the other gladiators, perhaps with some surviving characters, would have worked for a sequel.
So Maximus didn't die he merely fell while fighting the balrog and is back to save the whole galaxy. Stop with the needless sequels that ruin everything for money.

I haven't seen this rendition of gladiator and more than likely won't, while I'm sure Denzel does a wonderful job, contrivance in a character's presence in the production leads me to believe there'll be a whole lot more.
