Im definitely interested to see if they implement a class system like SWG. If they do and you can mix and match aspects from different classes it will be a hit and definitely push me to try it.

Kinda think MMOs as a genre are doomed to failure.. games like rust have proven that too much player freedom isn't necessarily a good thing in a player driven game. first western release of Archage was the only MMO I played aside from WoW where I legit thought it had a chance of being the next big thing... that's until the turned the game into a less of an RPG and more into a pay to win secondlife-esque experience full of hackers and abusers.. but man being a pirate on the open seas only to be caught and faced by a court of players and plan my jailbreak with guildies felt good
Archeage had some wonderful innovations.
I followed this game for awhile, and it is my belief from the information I have that this is being developed by a single person, not a team or company. Just FYI.

@@AdventureGameHotspot very true. Probably funded and close to release is a better bet to get hopes up. We all know what happened to funded projects like Elyria.
@@AdventureGameHotspot It's hard not to get a lil hype looking at this. I don't know if they will manage it this go around, but AI will be a huge component of large MMO games in the future I guarantee.
The gameplay/combat looks to stiff.... rest doesn't look to bad...

Sounds like there won't be any open world pvp, much less bounty hunting. If it's solely arena based, it's going to get boring fast. It's fine to have arena pvp, but there has to be an open world pvp element as well.
@@clintlewis1715 For sure considering its one of the main skill trees pre cu, and I believe a class post cu. If they are doing post CU though people should just play legends.
@@Blueprint4Murder Yeah, SWG Legends is the most popular, no doubt. They've done a really good job with that server. SWG Evolve, might eventually give them a run for their money though. It's NGE, but uses skill based leveling and has somewhat of a CU feel. You get the old skill trees back (Brawler, Marksman, Entertainer, and Artisan), with their subsets. Being skill point based, you can hybridize professions. Such Commando / Combat Medic (DOT heavy build) or Squad Leader / Doctor (group support and healing build). If you like Bounty Hunter, you would enjoy what you can do with that profession. Also, you can't start as Jedi. It's a unlock. Even though it's an NGE server, it would be a bit of a mystery to those that never played pre-CU or CU. Can't just go be a General Aspect Officer. You have Master a weapon specialization first, and then if you want the big boom boom, you have to go Grenadier and if you want the support side of it, you need Squad Leader. I've been playing around with a Teras Kasi / Bounty Hunter build. I've seen people doing Bounty Hunter / Assassin builds, Bounty Hunter / Combat Medic builds, Bounty Hunter / Squad Leader builds, so on.
That was revealing. hmmm, no open world pvp. Definitely not a SWG replacement. One thing I hate about some of the MMOs I've tried is the Arena based pvp system. It just quickly becomes a boring repeat. I'm not against Arena PvP, but there has to be an Open World PvP (pvp anywhere anytime) system. That doesn't mean forced pvp. It can utilize a flagging (opt in, opt out) system, kind of like SWGs covert/overt flagging system.
Kind of had high hope for this game, but seeing their response to pvp, I'll skip on this one. Everything else about it sound fantastic, but if the pvp solely arena based, that is a deal breaker for me.
Of course, I don't think we have to worry about the pvp anyway. There has been no noise about this game in over a year now, so seems like if just fell into the void of never going to happen.

This isn’t just a copy, they straight ripped swg, wouldn’t be surprised if the source code is the base layer, yikes. Looks cool though.

Arena based pvp. No open world pvp. No thanks. Needs to have a pvp flagging system like SWG or at least some dedicated pvp servers like other mmos.
When it was billed as first person shooter style of combat with the feel of classic mmos, I envisioned something like DayZ meets SWG, which would be an awesome concept. It doesn't need to a forced pvp system though. It can have an opt in/out system like SWG's coverert/overt system or at least have pvp and pve dedicated servers. You can still have arenas, but you definitely have to have an open world pvp element.

Wouldn't be the first time a game promising to be an open world sandbox was promoted and never came to be. There's been a few over the years, that looked a lot like an SWG clone, that never came to be.
Seeing the "real time" gameplay, which is NGE-like, hard pass
