Your goal for flagship is survivability to avoid game over. So anti-air with small bullet gun and armor is the best.
You can separate the role of fuel, sensors (radar, elint, etc.), jammer/distractor, aircraft carrier, missile, light fighter, heavy fighter, etc. into another crafts that you can afford to lose.
With specialized design you can also scatter them to do separate missions.
Also, tall design is preferable to wide design because of wide design has far more radar signature controlling for volume.
The more ships you have, the more fuel you waste
But wide designs can fit more static thrusters, which is better for fuel effciency
There’s a give and take
Or, you just build a small box and fly it far into the desert.
@@thename6879 wide designs have more RD signature (however tf that works), cant fit into smaller docks but can fit more thrusters. tall designs have LESS RD signature, CAN fit into smaller docks, but cant fit as many static thrusters.
Spacing out sensors on towers is actually somewhat realistic, if budget is a priority (only one of each sensor). Towers far from each other would obstruct a small portion of the 360 degree horizon for each sensor, allowing that small angle to be covered by constantly rotating/zigzagging the ship to the sides slightly. The closer you put the sensor towers to each other the larger the obstructed angle becomes and less practical this strategy. Representing that with reduced range rather than blind spots is not perfect but what can you do when ships are 2d vertical slices and the map is a horizontal plane.
i love seeing how different people make ships like your flag ship designs focus on being speedy and well fulled whilst less armed relying on the other part of your fleet to kill. i on the other hand make behemoths of ships with enough guns to level a city in a short burst. like my ship bismark is 1028 meters by 150 meters with a firepower of 278 all from guns. its consumption is 29k tons per 1000km with 0 flares, 0 missiles, 0 evac pods and its only the small price of 763k per ship.
Damn! Nearly twice as expensive as my Saint Mark
My personal flagship, the Geneva, isn't designed for combat at all. And honestly I think that's the much better choice for a flagship. it's got tonnes of fuel, space for nukes, and aircraft, as well as 30+ anti-missle defense systems. It has like 3 low tier guns to help shoot down missiles, and absolutely no armor. It's not that fast, but certainly faster than the Sevastopol. It also only has a fire control radar. I put my other communication (long range radar and infra-red) systems on an other non-combat ship (usually putting the radar on another nuke carrier and the infra-red on the skylark).
Of course, the joke of calling it the Geneva is because it's used for warcrimes. That, and I like continuing the tradition of naming flagships after cities.
Nice name for the ship!
Actually, it's not very much of a joke, considering Switzerland has been helping nazi Germany by accepting stolen jewish gold for oil.
What is the warcrime?🤔

add some fire extinguishers just in case
But can it take on 2 strike groups back to back?
Maybe not on its own, but it will sure have buddies )
How many tons of fuels per km does this consume? My vid quality doesn't let me read it, but I thought I saw five digits. This would be very expensive to fly.
Edit: I finally was able to decipher it, it's actually just over 1000 per 1000km. Actually relatively efficient for such a large ship at that speed.
I like how pronounce Sevastopol. Most ppl pronounce it as: sevastopol... Like a normal English speaker, but u pronounce it: sevas, topol
I always translate it to Sevastopoli and it sounds so cool for some reason.
So you made a RADAR-tanker. Sounds about right.
I like the simplicity and effectiveness of the design. I only have 3 questions.
Is this better than making a bunch of smaller tankers of the same fuel capacity?
What's the point of the fire control RADAR if the ship doesn't have any missiles and you could just put one on a missile carrier?
What would happen if you take this design and add runways to it to make it a plane carrier (would it be cheaper, faster, more efficient, etc. than a separate carrier)?
Yes, it might be better to make the fuel tank into smaller fuel tanks separated by small hull pieces to make fires more survivable. The hull should prevent spreading of fires to some extent. Having separate tankers instead of one, idk, it has it's own pluses and minuses: it can help split the fleet into groups, but small tankers are less effective at providing fuel to the fleet.
The FCR is so that the ship could also see targets clearly since it has a tracking capability. It’s so that when we’re in trouble, we can at least see stuff and be able to act from it. I also would sometimes put missiles on this ship in some empty hull spaces so I can use those too.
And it might be a good idea to place a couple flight decks and some T-7s on the ship because yes it is cheaper than having separate aircraft carrier. However, having a separate carrier has its own advantages like you can send planes further without setting the flag ship off the ground.
I’m sorry about the late response, hopefully this was helpful )
@@kaptainbeans I did not know bigger tankers on a single ship are more effective at providing fuel to a fleet. How-so?
I forgot the FCR doubles as a normal RADAR with smaller range. This doesn't sound like a bad cost-cutting move so you can purchase a RADAR later (or just use the one on your operational tanker on your forward fleet). Smart idea. I'll use this in my cheap Capital Ship design.
As far as planes go, I think a cost-saving move without limiting effectiveness is to make the Capital Ship a strategic carrier (longer-range and more devastating at the cost of being deployed further away), and also have operational carriers akin to Wasps with your forward fleet (deployed from the same fleet as your tactical ships so it's closer and therefore faster, but it has less effectiveness/number). This would make it so your Capital Ship, which has to exist, has a function to save money by being effective. All of this requires that you'd be using a faster-moving fleet, ahead of your main fleet, to deploy ships and minor first-strike capabilities for combat.
What do you think?
imma be honest, as an artist i find the reworked version uninspired and kind of insulting, its literally a flying brick.
A levitating brick full of tonnes of liquefied methane and an assortment of electronic beep boop stuff aloft the brick 👍
Unfortunately, a lot of the "Meta" builds in the game just end up being flying bricks with guns.
99% of ships in highfleet ARE flying bricks.
As an engineer his design seems elegant and versatile to me

главный минус этого корабля в том, что тут один топливный бак
если с ним что-то станет (а он очень большой, с ним явно может что-то произойти) то можно сразу выписывать корабль
а живучесть это важный параметр для флагманского корабля

Hey,, just in recent update i can't make anymore flagship PLEASE HELP
I'll look into it, don't worry )
@@kaptainbeans thanks
type this right under m_alignment : m_flagship:true
idk but it seems to only works for single campaign if completed
Sevastopol is the best ship in the game!!!
Sevastopol is one of the best pre-built ships along with the lightning, but I just wanted to build a big tanker with radars just to make a chep flagship
Бинс, очень хотелось-бы русских субтитров ибо английский я не особо понимаю, а так видос отменный!
Я попробую найти способ перевода. Я ещё не знаю как но постараюсь сделать.
I think you should be able to turn on auto-generated subtitles
@@amperzand9162 yeah that's true, but auto generated subtitles are not the most accurate especially translating some words or phrases, so I decided to make auto-generated subtitles and then edit the translation a bit.

man is very evil of you to not share the seria file for the fastopol. i really liked it, but im also too lazy to make it myself...
It’s on my google drive builds folder. Link is in some videos and on community page
Speaking of, I should prob update it
@@kaptainbeans found it, thank you m8. but tbh i prefer the og fastopol, an entirely logistical ship with no weapons, not ven planes nor missiles, is just a giant fuel tank that can move surprisingly fast meant to carry the fleet over a city or 2, and all that for just 60k.
There is the "rebuild" which is my revised version of the og one just made to be slightly more neater in design
@@kaptainbeans yes i know i downloaded all ur ships, i just mentioning in case you wish to update it is better to keep it logistical only.
