Don't know what he used on the tanks and aluminum besides elbow grease ,but they sure shined up nice ,I wash mine first then use an sos soap pad then the small mothers power ball on a drill for my wheels and a buffer on my tanks with a foam pad ,and if they still aren't shiny enough for me I'll use never dull wading polish and it takes a while but does a pretty good job but don't think I've ever got em as shiny as yours ,nice paint job to my favorite color ,white and chrome lol
i believe he sands down with 80 grit and works his way up to 240 grit then starts polishing using Zepher polishing products
@@McDonaldChromeShop man I'd be scared to death to put 80 grit on my tanks and wheels lol ,I won't even let the washboy put acid on my truck ,he does on all the others but they've always used it ,I think acid just cleans them real good but it don't shine them worth a flip ,it takes most of a day to do all my aluminum on my 378 Pete but it lasts for about 6 months before I have to do it again
Needs the chrome windows trim around the sleeper window ..perfect taste too..the white really pops...

( we also farm) we will resume that build soon which will be even nicer than this one since we have a higher budget on it. also have bought a few other trucks so once were done in the field we will get rolling again. I'm doing some touch up work on my truck. The factory color is metallic wine Imron. It's 300 dollars a quort. All ready did some buffing and it looks pretty good. But almeans not perfect.
can be hard to blend in new paint to the older factory paint but its crazy how much improvement comes with someone who is really good with a buffer. i hear your $300 per quart, we did a split paint job once was pearl white and camaro green at $1,200 per quart. luckily it was only half the truck lol looked sweet though. thanks for checking out our channel we have more builds being filmed right now! thanks again

Artic White looks good nice job guys but the white color will be a pain in the ass to keep clean cause my Lexus GS 300 is artic White with Pearel Matalic Flake Paint have to wash it alot to keep clean ..... Good luck to the guy .
white can be hard to keep clean but much easier than black lol. this owner washes his truck at least once a week so for the most part this truck looks great 90% of the time. thanks for watching

Why put metal plates on the outside door of the window thats not going to let you open the side window in front of the main window on the side door?
guess they dont care to use that window lol. to be honest it still opens about an inch. i personally never used that window in my years of hauling cattle but im sure it is an issue for some. thanks for watching

I agree I dont get why the engine compartment was not covered in plastic when painted now its full of over spray.. To each his own but when we paint a truck we paint frame axles everything .. Also we dustless blast all front to back including engine and detail the truck in every portion.. Thus looks like came from factory.. I guess these guys like to sell that chrome but sometimes thats like putting lipstick on a pig..

depends on what the body looks like, body work is the time consuming part of getting a truck painted

we actually are not doing customer paint projects at the moment only trucks we own and are building to resell or use ourselves. customers were just wanting their down time to be so little that we were getting them done in 10 days from tear down to rebuild and we were working 7 days a week 14-16 hour days just was burning us all out so we made the decision to step away from that. thank you for watching

How much did you spend on the paint job and all the accesories for the exterior?
that paint job is nothing special but it still takes time to tear down, prep, paint, and reassemble i would put it at about $10,000 then about another $10,000 in accessories then about the same in labor to install everything roughly.

bought the truck from a married couple that were team driving and decided to retire. we made the deal and they had 2 weeks left to truck so we bought it and let them drive it the last 2 weeks then took delivery. just typical stuff needed done. clear coat was bad so we repainted, brakes, drums, regular stuff then a lot of accessories, stainless, lights, seats stuff like that

Why whould you use a gray sealer...better coverage with a white sealer...I hope it covered one's it's out in the sun....good gob 👍

Didn’t separate the cab from the bunk to paint in between them. What if they want to turn it into a day cab one day?! Saw dents on the fuel tanks before and after the polishing. So many things I see wrong with this transformation. Definitely not a professional job unless this was just a budget build.
yes it was built on the customers budget. everything between the bunk and cab besides the boot is painted. if someone later wants to day cab it they will still need to paint since the day cab kit will not be painted. these tanks are 20 years old so some pits are so deep if you cut that deep it would ruin the tanks. it their was no budget cab and bunk would be removed along with all interior, new tanks, wheels, motor removed and painted. but that would make this over a $100,000 truck which was not the budget.

Truck was not prepped right before sealer\primer that paint will delaminate with in a year...you should be ashamed for turning out work like that
lol come take a look at the truck after the first 10 months on the road hauling hogs up and down gravel roads. looks great. we build trucks and paint trucks everyday . great comment though since you obviously have seen the truck lol

You paint engine,not good
Lol we use a silicone spray on the engine and other places their could be overspray. Then we rinse it off any no overspray left.

when the customer that bought the truck has a budget and says he wants to wait to change out flooring till a later date, then yes we leave it.

anywhere that could possibly get over spray we put a silicone spray on then power wash off after paint has cured, so to answer your question no we do not need to cover the engine.
