some tidbits that didn't make it into voiceover (thank u for putting up with my raspy voice...!)
✫✫Hi-Tec & Muji gel liners are great for class + art! if you don't want to lug around a super heavy stationary bag wherever you go, doubling up on pens and maximizing utility can help you maintain a minimal travel kit. (super helpful if you bullet journal and you already need to carry around colored pens, washi tape, etc.)
✫✫I don't believe there is one brand that's "ideal" for beginners, pick whatever is on sale and then as you gain more experience you will find tiny things that bug you and you can switch off between different brands.
✫✫Another "con" I've noticed for Sakura Micron specifically: the pen tip (the metal part that incases the drawing bit) explodes with ink ? ? and leaks everywhere. I've had this happen with three different Sakuras for seemingly no reason. Does anyone know what the cause of this issue is?
✫✫ Micron tip liners provide more variety in lineweight, and gel liners provide better stability (great for drawings that will be digitized into stickers or keychains, etc.)

this was the Perfect!! Timing!! I was literally about to buy a set of Micron pens for bullet journalling but was second guessing bc theyre expensive, especially when I want multiple sizes so thank you for this!!!

Do you have a preferred one that dries down quick and doesn’t smudge because as a left handed person, inking can be a pain if ink doesn’t dry down quickly or if smudges easily
from personal experience, the Copic and LePen dry faster than others. Gel liners take a very long time to dry :(
I think Faber dries the fastest but I haven’t worked with them on super detailed drawings so not sure if it would smudge in small areas like that
Like Lilith said, Faber tends to be quite a good bet! I'm using some right now, actually, and I'm not having any issues with smudging (as a fellow lefty). So long as you're careful to keep your hand off details for just a moment, you shouldn't have any problems ^_^

Yes it’s water resistant! I don’t think any of these pens are “water proof” because if the paper is damaged by too much water the ink will lift and fall with the paper; but, it won’t budge if you brush it with coats of watercolor etc!

what is the song?
It doesn't seem that india ink necessarily has to contain a binder; basic black is just carbon soot & water, not sure how colored india ink is able to remain waterproof though if it's just dispersed in water. But the manufacturer can choose to add gelatin or shellac. I suppose you could tell this if it has a sheen to it or not.
